They do nails and eyebrows nice here and the staff is nice . I've gone a bunch of times and I recommend them if anything.

The nails are great looks wise but they don't last and always break for me. When I went to other nail salons they never broke

I have been coming here for years off and on. I used to see Tyler and he was amazing at gel and full sets. Now when Covid hit, mainly all salons have had to increase prices but Universal prices aren't too bad. I haven't been in awhile because I moved across town but now that I'm back in the area, I decided to go today. The wait was long but expected. I got a basic pedicure and it wasn't too bad. I got a gel full set with basic French design, Bella did it. Came out nice. Total was $84 . Will be returning. read more

Universal Nail - French gel acrylic - Nail Salons Near Me - Lauderhill, Florida

Honestly still on the search for a good nail salon. Just about every nail they did for me is open where the acrylic and nail should be. Waste of 65 dollars plus tip. I won't be back and wouldn't recommend this salon. I was quoted 4 diffrent prices for the same nails lol it's a joke. read more

Check in was quick, I had an appointment. Mask required, temperature checked, directed to wash my hands before seeing my technician. When doing a mani, there is a divider between you and the technician. Seating in the waiting area was definitely NOT 6ft. Best to make an appointment. I appreciate there was no unnecessary chattering between workers and individual focus on the customer. They worker faster! Finding good techs is hard; Cindy did a good job. read more

I have been coming to Universal Nail for 4 years or more and I have been getting my nails done with Bella the whole time. I prefer to wait for her to get my nails done, then get it done by anyone else here or any location. She is great with design and detail. She is patient and fair. She deserves my tips and I'm so glad I found her. This post is overdue and I wish her much success in anything she does. Ask for Bella read more

Universal Nail - Nail Salons Near Me - Lauderhill, Florida

I have gotten my nails done here a few different occasions. Louie usually does a good job, he talks or is quiet based off what you prefer, and is kind. I haven't had any issues with him. He's amazing. Unfortunately my most recent visits(last three) were absolutely TERRIBLE and I will never return here again. I believe in giving businesses grace and keeping in mind that sometimes people have off days. However I can see that wasn't the case these last few visits. They were just rude because that's how they are. Louie was busy the last few times I came in so I had to go with other nail techs. Tony(twice I've had issues with) and Bella. Tony doesn't really understand/speak English well. When asked he claims he does, but it was apparent he did not. Especially after today. That or he was playing dumb. I had to ask for someone else to come over to explain to him what I had said about 6 times repeatedly. Once she explained in their native language he understood and began doing what I was asking. Let's back up. Originally I was placed with someone and she got started on my fill. She burned my nail bed when drilling and made my natural nail(where the fill of acrylic was to be laid) entirely too thin. It was red how much she drilled in the one spot and she had to soak my finger in cool water after. Then her appointment walks in and they move me to Tony. (Why place me with someone who all ready had an appointment??!!) Tony burned my thumb with the drill(you can see the burn) and burned the rest of my fingers drilling. I asked for short nails. Instead of using the regular file he wanted to drill(hence all the burns) because it was too much work. Are you kidding me!? Then he kept filing them slanted so my nails are all crooked and uneven. You can see through the black polish as there weren't enough coats put on. Polish is also uneven, lumpy, and has air bubbles in it. And he didn't properly polish the edge of the nails. Cuticles weren't cleaned up properly like I requested either. As for my toes those are also filed crooked. Thank God I noticed he only put one coat of black on one of my toes before I got up! At first glance the nails look cute. The lighting inside the salon sadly makes it so you can't see all the trash until you get out into sunlight/ better lighting. When it was time to pay they added more money. I asked why it was more than I was originally told the woman said it was because I used three different polishes and he had to file my nails short. I've never been charged for using multiple colors so I know that was a lie. And nail length change is only $5 more. So what was the extra $20 for!? Honestly I was so frustrated at this point I just paid and got out of there. And she had the nerve to ask if I wanted to leave a tip!? With what I just experienced absolutely not. That was the worst service ever! My visit from last week was very problematic as well. I was placed with Bella, showed her a picture of how I wanted my French manicure, she began working. As she's polishing I'm not liking what I'm seeing so I tell her. She starts to get snippy and saying "that's what you asked for" and "don't worry I'll fix it". So I let her keep working thinking she was going to fix it. After that next coat had been cured I told her to take it off because I didn't like it and it didn't look like the picture. She literally yells and says "that's what you asked for! It's not my fault you don't like it! I'm doing what you asked!" HOW DO YOU YELL AT A PAYING CUSTOMER!? Extremely unprofessional!!!! I sternly explain to her that it looks nothing like the picture and I would like her to remove it and do a different color. She continues yelling saying it's my fault and that it's $5 if I want to take it off. At this point people are staring and I'm furious...I ask why am I paying $5 to remove something I told her I didn't like and she insisted she would fix. She continues that "it's $5 you don't like it! It's policy! This is what you asked for!" She didn't want to take it off (she's still trying to polish at this point!!) so I yell back and tell her "Stop giving me attitude, I don't like it and I want you to remove it now! I'll pay the $5, but you don't need to talk to me like that or give me attitude because I don't like it! Especially considering I am paying for this service!" She sucks her teeth and starts drilling it off. Then she says something in her native language to her coworkers and two of them come over and start looking and talking back and forth. Absolutely ridiculous and UNACCEPTABLE!!! She rudely asked me what color I wanted and when I said I didn't know and needed the color basked she literally stomped off. Came back and slammed the basket on the table. Smh. After I picked my color there was no more talking and the rest of the appointment went on in silence. I have never been treated this way and I cannot believe they think it's okay to conduct business in such a manner. It is appalling. Won't be returning. read more

TERRIBLE SERVICE AND PRICE GOUGING. When visiting this establishment once before my gel fill was $35 and a gel toe polish was $20. Today, SOMEONE the same services totaled $79 with a different technician who provided poor services. I had to ask her to correct my nail 3 times and she was in a hurry and on her phone. Go ANYWHERE else but here. It'll be cheaper and better. I guarantee it! read more

I love Ashlee! She's amazing nails always last. Good vibe and conversation. Found my forever nail tech

I went to get a gel refill and it was one of the worse experiences I have ever had at a nail location. I had to draw on his receipt pad how to do coffin nails. The nail tech took an hour and a half to do a gel fill. He never measured my nails to ensure that they were the same length, size, shape or thickness. Throughout the time, I had to inform him that he was not doing them correctly and that my nails were two different sizes, shapes and thickness. I had to take the nail file myself to try to assist with shaping my nails. I asked him if there was anyone else to do my nails as they were not being done correctly and I was by this time late for work. He did not respond. I asked if he is able to give a discount as he was not sure how to do my nails and messed up several times and he laughed and nodded his head yes. After an hour and a half, my nails still not bring the same in both hands, cuts on my fingers, and no separation between the nails and my cuticles, the owner still told me that I had to pay full price because I should have asked for some else if he wasn't doing a good job. I informed her that I did. She told me I was lying. I asked her to have the bill tech come to the front to ask him if I was lying and she refused. I get my nails done there most times and though I have had issues with them before, I continue to give them the benefit of the doubt and not give up on the business; however, todays incident was not ok and not professional. It is very sad when people cannot take accountability for their wrong doing and to attempt to make it right. Just because you have more customers fired not mean you can treat other customers anyway you like. read more

My first experience was marvelous experience compared to similar establishments I have patronized. I was greeted by a young lady who was the designated check-you-in person. It was a mid after noon Saturday, and I got seated immediately for a mani/pedi. All of the techs has name badges. My tech was Leann. All I have to say is that I love Leann and I don't want anyone else ever to do my nails but her. Lol! That's an extreme statement but that's how she made me feel at that time. She was professional, she was in command of what I asked for and she delivered, light pleasant conversation, she knew her craft. I fell asleep...zzzzz....woke up with gorgeous french toes. She was also directing traffic.....more than a just tech perhaps maybe? The prices are on the wall and seemed about average for similar services compared to elsewhere. I didn't have any surprise charges, Leann was very clear up front as to how much my service would be. Y'all know I'm fancy sometimes with the nail requests. Lol! Everything seemed clean, sterile practices. I'm sold. read more

I just moved from New York to FL and I must say the prices are different and you can get better deals in New York. My friend was telling me about this location and I tried it out. This was a cool location because a lot of the staff speaks English and nice customer service. I did not have to wait long to get my pedicure done. They do have massage chairs which I always like!! I hate locations that do not invest in the massage chairs!! The nail tech took her time and did not cut or bruise me up so I was very happy. The deco is nice and clean location. I really like the quote messages they have on their mirrors. I would come back and be sure to join their reward membership!! read more

This is my go-to nail salon, the reason I like it is because it has a extensive selection of colors, more so than most nail salons, the biggest issue I have is going to a salon and looking for a long period of time for the perfect color, however here they have tons of colors to choose from whether it's dip, gel, or just basic color and they have a bunch of different designs they can offer as well. read more

Asked for a regular pedi that's $25. First I felt like the lady rushed me was not happy with how she worked. (Sometimes it's really good sometimes it's bad depends on who you get, today was bad). The lady ask me if I want clear coat I said yes, when I went to pay they charged me $40 vs the $25 because apparently that's the cost of the clear gel. I did not ask for gel I said clear coat. Not sure if the lady played me but sucks I've been coming for a while and that was my last time there, front lady should have noticed it was a mistake from Her employee and not mine and still was charging me the extra for something I did not ask. Why the hell would I pay 20 dollars extra for something I don't Even know what it is? I said clear coat I'm a guy I don't even know what the difference is! This is the WORST nail salon. DO NOT COME HERE. i paid $55 for a pedicure with 1 layover on my big toe. 2 days later it cracked in half and also cracked my actual nail. The OWNER herself tried to lay over my half cracked nail. I said no it's going to get infected, take off all the acyrlic. She goes back and forth saying my nail was cracked before I got them done( when it wasnt ) and IF she saw my nail was cracked down the middle why wouldn't you take care of that beforehand? then she refused service to me. one of her employees saw she was in the wrong and tried to help me, but I just wanted the acrylic removed and to leave. I went here yesterday because it's closer than my usual place and I left twist to bleeding fingers. One of the bleeding fingers was from the nail file and the other one was from the drill. It's no more than 24 hours later and my finger is swollen and it hurts me. I have to admit my nails look good when I went in there they were atrocious. I gave this place 3 stars because they have a nice perk of a free bottle of water for patrons with Services more than $14 Oh, I thought that was nice. Also the salon is very nice and a woman named Ivy, who I believe may be the owner, was a great multitasker and make sure that people weren't waiting too long and everyone was taken care of. I'm a kind of person that never says never but I'm fairly certain I will never return to this establishment read more

Tony is great! I came with an in-grown nail issue and he took care of it. He is a perfectionist and that is why he resolved the issue. He works with a smile, maybe English is not his first language but he understood everything I requested. Great experience! The lady at the front checks on you a lot they all care about their clients. I walked in in desperate need of some callous removal and new pedi color! They have $25 option and their jelly pedi is only $39, but the lady ensured me that's a regular pedi would better take care of my dry feet problem and that she could just add extra paraffin for $10! Run! They never get the assignment and overcharge. There is s nail tech there black girl light skin with dreads.. she will get an attitude if you try to tell her exactly what you want and if she doesn't get it right instead of asking how to fix she gets frustrated with the customer that's paying way too much fr the job. She's always tired and has to go to rest room. Paid I've $130 for some regular acrylic nails. It was not worth 130 and poor customer service. Went back as if I didn't learn my lesson gave spa another chance to refill the crappy nails I hated in the first place. Charged me 65 to refill simple had you should see how this Chinese lady did em. Don't go to anyone you can't communicate with. They get frustrated because they're tired as if you chose their job. The front desk lady knew she overcharged fr the crappy job because upon checkout she asked tech $55? Her response no $65. $55 was already too much fr a refill and she charged to trim my nails and paint them over which u should see how the look smdh. Stay away poor talent and rippoffs. Paint your nails at home. read more

The guy at the front was rushing us. All he could have said was they were closed. He asked us to pay upfront and add a tip. He need better customer service skills. I told him that I would put a review on yelp and he started trying to be nicer by asking me questions and "pretend smiling". This is the first time I'm coming here and it is not a good first impression, the salon was not even that packed. The inside seemed nicely decorated and the other people seemed nice but the guy at the front need to work on his skills on talking to people because this is the first thing people see from this place. I've been to other nail spas that were not well decorated but the customer service just made it nicer even though it may have not been so decorated as this one. Customer service tells a lot about the company and this was not a good first impression. I'm just a customer service fanatic because I work in the customer service field so I really get annoyed when people don't get good treatment. Maybe if I have another chance to be with another nail specialist, it would be different, for now, since I'm stuck with this one it has to be this. I'm giving this place a 3 star because of the decor aspect of the nail spa and because the other nail specialists seemed nicer, but since the guy at the front, who ended up being the one doing my nail had that attitude at first, they will have to get a 3 star. The Mani/ pedi (giving a 4 star) he did was awesome, its just his attitude that needs fixing. Maybe he made sure he did a great job because I asked if they had a yelp. Who knows, for now this is the rating. read more

Andy was my tech and there was a tech lady next to him and we were all laughing as we are all parents and are so excited for school to start again. Went in today after ready mixed reviews ( which is usually always the case with nail salons). I got a full set of acrylics. I had a picture of the shape. Nothing too hard. Just square with a " slight " coffin taper. Of course , my nails look nothing like the picture. They don't use cuticle oil at all. Then, onto the the pedicure. There was no customer service friendliness. It was a rush job. I left with my heels still rough. There was no toe separate used. I had to ask to help turn the massage on. I was going to get eyebrows done, but really I just wanted to be done. Lol . When I go to pay, they charged me an extra 5 dollar for the shape that he didn't do. If you are really in a pinch, it's better than nothing. Definitely keep looking for a " home " salon. read more
