The first time I went the fellow did an excellent job of gel manicure and pedicure. However he didn't tell me that the polish I chose was more expensive. I went yesterday and had another young fellow and the gel manicure is okay but he forgot to file the nails at the end and I forgot to remind him, so some of my nails are rough. I think he was beginning and I think he will be an excellent manicurist. read more

Worse manicure ever! I normally go somewhere else but this is close to where I live and I didn't have time to drive the 20 minutes so I just stopped in here. Big mistake. The place was empty and an older man led me to a station. I told him that I just needed a basic manicure and NOT TO TRIM MY CUTICLES but just to push them back. He pushed so hard AND he cut them. I didn't realize how bad it was until I got up and saw the blood. One finger bled all day and today, 5 out of 10 nails feel or look terrible. I just hope that I don't get an infection. When I told the man I was bleeding, he just said "yeah", like it happens all the time. The place is dirty as read more

Mod Nail Spa - The bloody cuts around my cuticles even though I asked him NOT to trim them. - Nail Salons Near Me - Fort Lauderdale, Florida

I am very disappointed with Mod. I have gave them many chances to prove they are good at their services but two weeks I got my hands and feet done. I did powder on my hands and today, exactly two weeks later my nails are starting to chip and lift. I went in again today and I told them that I was disappointed because my nails also started to turn yellow but they did not discount me even $5. So I will never go back. All very unfortunate. To be very honest, if you have high standards for your nails this is not the place. It's a waste of money to be honest. read more

I came in for a Pedicure, and left here feeling like a new man. After many months of running, my feet needed a little care, love and attention. It wasn't super packed, and during covid they are taking extra precautions which is great. Seats have massagers with various settings. Very relaxing as my feet soaked in some warm water. Cindy was my tech. She was Gentle and did a great job shaving off dead skin and working with my nubs I call nails. My feet felt so smooth and fresh, free of all that dead skin that builds up. read more

I've been coming here for almost 4 years. The service has severely gone downhill... new people and apparently new ways of doing acrylics now!! Let me explain: Tim used to do my nails but sadly he left, so today I went in for a full set of acrylics with regular polish and was given Tony as my technician. He was quiet, which I don't mind, but he was clearly rushing my nails (which in total took 40 mins). He didn't do my cuticles and didn't apply oil or cream. After I chose my polish, I told him specifically I wanted regular polish, not gel. He switched his bottle and proceeded to apply the polish on my unwashed hands!! I asked him as he was switching the bottles if I should go wash my hands (as I always do), and he told me no. I complained to the manager David, who defensively told me Tony thought I wanted gel, which is not correct. I'm giving one star only because the front desk assistant was very understanding and sweet. I won't be coming back. Neither should you. read more

This is not just terrible service. It is very dangerous for health. They filed holes in my nails. I paid money for the hospital, for the doctor for the treatment, now I can't cover my nails and need to smear them with creams to avoid infection. I was able to get an appt on a Sunday afternoon and opted to get a dip Mani and reg pedi. I was paired up with Danny who was extremely efficient and professional. He is a PRO. I choose my color and he went to WERK. he offered services that would make my dip last longer. He compared each nail, he took my suggestions well, he made all nails the same. He has a great eye and does great work. The prices are reasonable and the place in clean. Thank you! read more

I wish I could give less than 1 star. I went for a Pedi and full set of clear acrylic with clear coat. DASSIT! I should have know there's be a problem when 1 customer came in demanding a repair and another complained about the cost when she was finished. When I "was done" they charged me $81. Anybody who understands what I requested can tell I was ripped off. Then when I get to the car I notice two of my nails barely have any acrylic on them. I'm too classy to argue with scammers but just know I will NEVER grace your doorstep again and neither should any of you. You've been warned. High prices for shoddy work. read more

10/10 DO NOT recommend. Maybe, this nail salon and I just aren't compatible? They had customers constantly in out during my appointment so clearly this establishment is doing something others love. Anyway, on to my experience. One reason I came here because my roommate recommended it. Second, it's only about two minutes from where I recently moved. So why am I disappointed? Basically , all my nails were broken off before it was time for my next appointment. That is just a sheer lack of expertise in my opinion. I can understand one breaking, maybe even two but damn near all? Insane. These were my natural nails as well. Now I have to go through an unnecessary process of growing them out long again smh. Additional impressions.... Cons: 1.The decor is antiquated to me. 2. Rushed me through. 3. Convinced me to do my eyebrows, they looked untouched after being waxed. 4. I couldn't get a recommendation on which nail tech specializes in the services I like to receive. (immediate red flag). Pros: Ummmmm...... I'll take the 30 min drive to previous nail salon I love. read more

I had a bit of a nail emergency. You see, typically I'm a one salon girl, and at that one salon, I typically see the same manicurist. You can say we've become friends of sorts. That's why this emergency hurts. I feel I cheated on my manicurist, but eh, it was an absolute necessity. There I was at the office, doing work, when I realized my nails have either been bitten or broken, sometimes both. The girly girl in me couldn't take it anymore, and so, I started searching everywhere nearby. I know how it is during prime time without an appointment. Not everywhere takes walk-ins, but fortunately this place does. Either way, I had called early in the day to find out. Seems that it depends on the service. I got a basic manicure and pedicure with some waxing. Got there close to 6 PM and left maybe an hour and a half later. Lina was my gal. She did a lovely job with my nails. I liked the lotion and massage she gave my hands. Felt very comfortable at this nail salon. It's small, but it possesses high quality. Love that they take Venmo payments. Be aware, though, that tips are cash only. read more

Mod Nail Spa - Horrible! - Nail Salons Near Me - Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Finally I found a good place for a basic mani & pedi in the area. I haven't had much luck. I was getting an oil change around the corner and had two hours to kill so I figured I'd try to get my nails done. I yelped nearby salons and that's when I found Mod, I felt a good vibe as soon as I came in. I walked in on a Sunday, wasn't too full. They were able to assist me within a 10 minute wait. My technician knew what she was doing and gave me a really good manicure and pedicure, she even massaged my feet. I was impressed at the service provided. Pricing is fair, a basic mani and pedi is $35. Not too bad! The salon is clean and I love sitting on their massage pedicure chairs for a relaxing massage. Well I was skeptical at first, but then I was like what the heck. I have literally tried about 3-5 different nail spots and NONE did me good. I was not at all pleased. But then I came across this salon and said I guess I'll give this one a try. David is the ONLY one I let touch my nails. I did spend $76 the first time... but I end up getting: - a new short full set - French, plus it's gel - I did gel on my toe nails (all white) So I say just try it especially if your like me tried them all and was disappointed. So far this is where I'm staying. I do not like changing a good nail tech. read more

My favorite is they do a variety of upgraded pedicures that include hot stone, foot scrubs etc. the first upgrade from basic the deluxe pedicure is only $36 and it's so worth it! I had a terrible experience with another tech here but decided to come again and book with DAVID. I love how my nails turned out and he was sweet and kind. The tech before was so rude to me and I honestly don't know why. It was so bad that I was about to walk out in tears halfway through getting my nails done because of his comments and attitude. Being a single mom I only had a set timeframe to get nails done while baby sitter was watching my little girl and was so disappointed that I wasn't even able to enjoy myself thankfully this time I had a great experience and will be back because of it. Thankfully DAVID came to the rescue and I left happy with my nails and service. If you come here book David! read more

I started coming to mod nail spa earlier this year around mid January. I originally came in as a walk in and had Dong as my tech. He is truly amazing and never disappoints! He's quick, efficient and always fulfills my request. I ask for a short natural look with square/round edges and thin dip. Now I don't even have to ask - he knows my style . I always make sure to make an appointment and I'm always taken right on time. Hands down, the best nail salon in the area! The pricing beats the other salons as well. read more

Walked in to get one nail fixed. The originally quoted me 30 mins but were able to take me and start the process of removing the dip powder I'm the meantime. I even got acetone on another nail and they fixed that too. Tip: if you plan to get your nails done in Fort Lauderdale make an appointment ahead of time. This was on a random Wednesday, but this was the third salon I tried to get a quick fix at that was pretty busy. read more

We are regulars at this salon and had not issues so far. Until last week... The new (?) older female nail tech that did my pedicure seriously hurt me and I asked her to stop. My big toe nail kept on bleeding after the pedicure so I called the salon and explained that I was very unhappy with the service provided and that I want to be refunded for the very unpleasant experience. This is not a 'one time' situation: my pregnant cousin had the same terrible experience by the same nail tech; I truly hope that neither of us will get an infection. The man who did my dip manicure was super rough. He burned me three times with the dremel and gouged my skin with the emery board. Pic included. He literally drew blood. Also while there, some crazy dude came in screaming about the FBI and illegal immigrants and told the employees to "go back to Vietnam." They aren't even FROM Vietnam. That wasn't their fault, but I thought I might actually get shot by the crazy man screaming. Overall, not a great experience. I'll find a different salon next time I am in town. read more

Quality pedicure And Acrylic with gel nail refill. Parking is plentiful even though there are lots of other stores in the strip mall. It's tucked back off of the area where US-1 meets federal hwy. great location and easy to get to. My pedicure was amazing. Man who did it spent extra time with my leg/foot massage and it was a long week so I greatly appreciated it. He also has the perfect hands in terms of a pedicure - not too strong but helped get my feet back into top shape! My nail refill was okay- a different man did it and I got scrapped a few times on my cuticles The specific time I went there was a child in the salon. This usually wouldn't bother me but the child was misbehaving and talking / complaining very loudly. It did not make for a relaxing "spa" atmosphere. I will be back read more

The worst nail experience I've ever had. I asked for an acrylic fill with French design, which I've gotten multiple times before. This was my first time at this location & they came out terribly. As you can see in the pics, my nail is totally visible underneath and the new growth is unflattering. Furthermore, the old acrylic was not buffed well with the new acrylic fill so you can see the line of demarcation between the two. I informed the owner that this is not up to my standards & they told me to come back Friday at 6pm to redo it. I came in at my scheduled time just to be turned away at the door and told that 'it is what it is' and 'there's nothing we can do' extremely rudely. The owner didn't want to discuss the work with me and brushed me aside and walked away. He said the work was fine and as expected. If the pictures attached are 'fine' and what you would expect, by all means book an appointment. If not, and you don't appreciate rude customer service, I highly advise booking elsewhere. read more

I'm in Fort Lauderdale for the first time and waited till I got here to get. Y nails done. I chose this place as close, lots of good reviews and a high star level on Yelp. They were packed when I arrived but it's a small store and I didn't have to wait too long. Small strip center with what seems to be plenty of parking but I arrived in a lyft. I've been coming here for at least 5 years, and I've never had a negative experience. I can recommend David and Michael for dip, and Amy and Debbie for regular or gel. I used to get dip and gel nails here, but because I get eczema on my finger tips I have switched to just a regular polish. None of the aforementioned technicians have ever hurt me or cut me, and they all do an incredible job. They are creative, efficient, thorough, and lovely humans to spend time with, as well. My feet are crazy hard and callused so I appreciate the hard work they do to get them smooth. They take walk ins as well as appointments, and you can bring your own polish if you are so inclined. The space is clean, the massage chairs are wonderful, and I'll never go anywhere else. As I'm sure everyone knows, not all technicians are created equally, but the 4 I previously mentioned are excellent and you can't go wrong with any of them. read more

The salon felt clean, wasn't too packed, and overall made me feel comfortable regarding COVID precautions. I was there at 10AM on a weekday. I came here bc it is highly rated on Yelp. I know times are hard so I don't want to hurt the business... However, if the key service of the salon is poor, I have to be honest. I worked with the woman on staff. I think her name was Cindy. She was very kind and attentive. Unfortunately, her nail filing and painting skills were not good. I asked her for round nails and to keep my shape. Instead she filed them down to half of what they were. My two hands weren't even so I had to ask her to fix them. She then used an electronic file on my dry cuticles and cut two so deep so that they bled. I asked her to stop bc it started to burn. Then she went back to regular tools. I had no line of sight about where the cuticle tools came from. She pulled them out of her drawer discretely. I would have felt better if they came out of an autoclave machine. It took two weeks for my cuticles to calm down. They were raw and had hangnails for days. When my nails were under the UV light, my cuticles were burning. The hot towels she put on my feet (a nice touch) were so hot I had to ask her to stop draping my foot with them and wait. The final paint job (regular on toes, gel on fingers) is clumpy, thick, and not aligned. She was so nice -- I feel bad that the outcome was such a poor experience for me. I think this experience was specific to the nail tech, not the salon. Regulars were coming in throughout my experience there. read more
