I recently visited the Wilton Manors location and received an extraordinary, rejuvenating massage from Ugo. In a very stressful world, he offered me an hour of true peace. As a Transgender woman, I often move through public spaces with a sense of guardedness. However, Ugo's presence was a beacon of safety and respect. He was attentive and kind, reminding me that authentic human warmth still exists. While most of the staff were lovely, I did feel a very uncomfortable and rude energy from one staff member (I think he is a Brazilian guy and his name is Julio). He was very disrespectful to me. It was a stark contrast to the rest of my experience. After getting our details, the spa sent him an email confirming the appointment---thereby ruining the surprise! Once there, the spa is inviting enough and we had high hopes to relax. Unfortunately, my husband's female therapist rolled around on a salon stool the whole hour...barely applying any pressure. You really need to stand up and massage someone, not scoot around. Ellen is a true healer! I went to Chi for my first massage after a surgery at the end of the year. I was only 3 months out and a little nervous but knew my body needed to de-stress and let go of tightness and get more blood flow going in order to keep healing. (my surgery has an 8-12+/- month recovery timeline) Ellen has a lovely energy and many years of experience. That experience shone as I told her I didn't think I was feeling up to laying on my stomach yet but would be okay with just what she could massage with me laying supine. She gave me an alternative side position and proceeded to give me the most wonderful massage. She asked if I preferred a male or female masseuse and I asked as I always do for female but after explaining my immediate need a Male would only be available. I just had an amazing massage with Milina Frank, she practices Cranial Sacral Therapy, Mayofacia release and a skilled massage therapist with a calm demeanor. When you walk into the spa, it's a calm atmosphere with attention to every detail. From the quality tea to the soft, luxurious covers. My wife and I enjoyed our massages here today. We purchased Groupons for about $50 for an hour each. The massages came with aromatherapy and the business offers complimentary bottled water upon arrival. My massage was good but I could have used some more work on my pressure points. My wife really liked her massage. It was great that we could do these at the same time. Chi Spa has a new customer fee/required 20% gratuity policy, which goes directly to the masseuse and is part of their customer education. I don't loved required gratuity for several reasons but this isn't the place to go into that and people should tip masseuses. Service for this place is professional. The ambiance is peaceful and even with the fee, the overall price is still reasonable and I would come back here. Received a Groupon for a massage for Xmas and finally got to use it. The spa itself was clean, they had a nice water and tea section while you wait. It gave off a hippie boho type vibe, not the typical spa vibe but it was different and nice. Booking was easy, you simply text a number and they set things up. I got to my appt a few mins early only come to find out my massage therapist was running 30-45 late , she wasn't there so I had to wait and rearrange my whole morning. Swedish, deep tissue.) They also offer couples massages. My masseuse is Teena. She's great and I highly recommend her They offer a massage membership which you can cancel at any time and is a great deal. This is a woman-owned business. I spent a cpl of hours with Debbie and Adi. Debbie for waxing and Adi for a mini chi. Both ladies were excellent. Debbie can do the mini also. I went to Chi spa and massage on a coupon promotion so it was only $32.50 for one hour massage down from the usual $89. I called for an appointment the day before and easily found time at 2 p.m. since my flight wasn't until 630 I thought it would be a perfect pre flight experience. Upon arrival I was greeted, checked in quickly,and given some bottled water. The place has a really relaxing atmosphere, kind of dark but very clean. The bathroom was also very clean and well appointed with two kinds of hand soap and cloth towels. The massage started and finished on time and I may have drifted off to sleep for a few minutes. Definitely a good experience. At checkout, I was asked "would you like to leave a gratuity in cash or by credit card?" I was also told "I hope you can leave a positive review on Yelp." DO NOT GO HERE!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE AND THEY FORCE YOU TO TIP 20% TO THERAPISTS NO MATTER THE EXPERIENCE YOU HAVE! We bought a 60 min couples massage off Groupon to test this place out as we are looking for a new massage place after moving from CA. This place had good reviews so we had high hopes. Not sure HOW they got these reviews as this was the WORST EXPERIENCE I EVER HAD AT ANY MASSAGE PLACE IN MY LIFE!! Our appointment was scheduled at 2:15pm and we walked in to the receptionist telling us to take a seat as they were still finishing up other couples massages. No problem - We sat and waited for 15+ minutes before our "therapists", Jessica and Milina, brought me and my partner back. Per my text conversation with the manager, we were finally brought back at 2:33pm. My massage therapist, Jessica, started a subpar massage where she scratched me multiple times, pushed and shoved me erratically and rushed through the entire massage. I let her do her thing as she was the masseuse - but in the middle of the massage, she says "I don't know what massage she came here for, but she's getting MY massage". I'm not a stickler for technique, but at least let it be relaxing. It was anything BUT relaxing. Also, the place did NOT feel entirely clean - they had BROWN sheets (maybe to hide stains easier), but not the usual white sheets I've always had at every massage place ever to show cleanliness. When she said "thank you I'm done" I looked up and it was only a couple minutes past 3:15pm. I asked the other therapist about the hour and she said shes doing this last spot on my partner and finished too. She left the room at 3:22pm, per the manager. When I came outside, I told the receptionist that we were supposed to have gotten a 60 min massage but it was only roughly 45 mins. Jessica overheard me saying that and proceeded to come out and tell me she has a schedule to follow and they needed to move to the next people. When I said we were brought in late, she said that it was MY FAULT we didn't get a full hour as I was late walking in (we walked in at 2:17pm and we waited on them for over 15 mins). All of this was said in a nasty attitude like it was "not her problem" and it was my fault, when it was clearly not. And then she proceeded to tell me that now she feels terrible because she put effort into the massage and now I'm not happy. WHY SHOULD BE HAPPY TO PAY 100% OF THE PRICE WHEN I BARELY GOT 75% OF THE SERVICE AND THEN THIS TERRIBLE ATTACKING ATTITUDE AT THE END OF THIS STRESSFUL MASSAGE?? Then the manager reached out via text and told me she could provide another 30 min massage for us and could refund me for Jessica's tip that was REQUIRED to be collected (20% of their full priced 60 min massage) even though I requested a full refund after my horrific experience. I appreciate your apologies about my horrific experience, but that doesn't make me feel less stressed and ripped off by your spa. I left more stressed than I went in, and the massage was supposed to relieve stress. They offer great deals on Groupon, but have a complicated process just to schedule an appointment. I bought a Groupon as a gift for my mother and she was not able to get a hold of anyone over the phone. Instead she was responded to the following day with a text message asking her to fill out a registration form. My mother is not very old but is not good at filling out extensive information on her phone. She would have preferred to do this in person or over the computer. She then called to tell me she was asked to credit card just to make an appointment. By this time, she spent all morning trying to make a simple appointment and I told her just to "forget" trying to make an appointment at this place.
