His knowledge of everything about masonry was on point and generous. My quest to cap my chimneys started this past spring when an adult Swift bird got into the gas fire box because the flue had fully opened up during a recent wind storm. Fortunately the pilot light for the gas log set was not lit and we were able to let the bird into the house, capture it into a garbage bag and release it unharmed outside. A few weeks later we were startled to hear the chirping of baby swifts in the same chimney when mom or dad dove down the chimney to bring them food at the tiny nest they built just above the flue opening. We had to endure the loud chirping ~ every 7 minutes for two months as the chicks grew and finally flew away. Darrel did a great job finding the right caps of different sizes, chipping some cement away from the one chimney liner to expose enough of the liner to attach the cap and even painted the chimney crown with some grey Flex Seal I had on hand to seal it until we replace it and the other two crowns when we sell our 35 year old home in the next year or two. Darrel did not want to charge me for the extra paint step but I compensated him anyway because he is an honest, knowledgeable businessman working to build his new business. He was flexible and accommodating with the scheduling. Price negations were also very professional and I feel like I god a great value for the work he has performed. The project was to prep a fireplace for installation of wood burning insert stove and involved grinding out of external face cracked mortar between bricks causing internal fireplace leakage. Darell comped pickup and delivery of the fireplace insert and installation from the total cost of the project. As he was performing the job he recognized that the upper condition of the mortar was in a better state, and did not need repairs, so he refrained from fixing what wasn't broken and lowered the cost of the job. Later on when called about some follow up questions he was very accommodating and provided plenty of his time to consult on operation and maintenance of an insert fireplace. He earned my trust to confidently reach out to him for any further fireplace upkeep questions.

I've gotten 3 different estimates and Angeles Landscaping was definitely a fair estimate when compared to the others. We had one give us an estimate of $3,200, one said $1,500, and Angeles asked for $1,800 so we were happy to pay that amount given the faith we had in his work. When Daniel came over, he asked the right questions and thought of things I didn't think about. He asked how far we wanted the mulch to go for the edges, what we wanted trimmed, how high we wanted to mulch to be (we went with 2.5 inches), and he made sure to let us know he wasn't just going to cover things in mulch, but he was going to remove the moss, weeds, and everything before to do it correctly. We got the estimate on Thursday and Daniel and his team (2 other people) were able to come by on Saturday morning. They started at 8am and were finished around 3pm (so around 8 hours of work). When he was finished he even hung around patiently, asked if I had any questions, and was surprised I didn't have any. I was very confident when meeting him that he would do a good job. I didn't feel like I had to micromanage him to do a good job, and I was correct in thinking that. Overall, I definitely recommend Angeles Landscaping for landscaping needs. Santiago and his crew did an amazing job on my project! I had some drainage issues along the back of my yard and decided to have a French drain and raised bed around the perimeter of my yard. These guys came in and dug out about a foot or more of the bad dirt, installed a drain and erected stone blocks for the raised bed and filled in with good quality soil and mulch. The end result looks awesome and I look forward to spending many nights in the back yard looking at how nice it is. The crew worked hard every day, showed up on time and were respectful of my property. I messaged through yelp, emailed the company, then when I said I would give a bad review, they quickly responded, only to leave me with no answer to a start date, and no response. I would ABSOLUTELY NOT recommend this company to anyone. They were actually very nice people, but just didn't know how to get work done, which is even worse then rudeness in a business world. Pretty frustrated with the whole thing.
