Someone I know recommended Chapman to me, but I am not sure why. First of all, if your loved one requested to be cremated, their remains will have to be taken all the way to Orange County where the crematorium is located. Second of all, if you would like to have a viewing prior the cremation, it can ONLY be done in Orange County. This makes absolutely no sense for anyone whose loved one and family live in Los Angeles County. On top of that, this location is ONLY open from 10 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday. So, if you work normal hours, that means you have to take off work to make the arrangements, then take off work again to pick up the ashes, then take off work again to pick up the death certificates. This is honestly very poor service to folks in the area. Apart from that, the price of the cremation was in line with what other funeral homes offer. The building is cool and historical, I will say that. Free candy and tissues at the desk.

There are numerous shade trees, and soft pathways to visit the final resting places of friends and family who have gone before... and for what it's worth, there are some very old graves here of some of the founding fathers and mothers of the area. Problem one: My family bought a memorial property at Glendale cemetery in December 2015 for my grandfather who suddenly passed away. Our family specifically ordered the traditional upright headstone. Chris, an agent worked at the location, promised our family that the headstone would be delivered in about four months. Four months later, he told us the delivery must be postponed due to some government regulation issues. We trusted him and waited nearly a year and finally became suspicious about the situation. We contacted this company, shockingly, an agent informed us that Glendale cemetery NEVER allowed having upright headstones; Furthermore, Chris was no longer working for their company. Upon several negotiations, my family had to go for the flat bronze grave marker, because we did not wish to "disturb" my grandfather. Problem two: Chris, the agent, SPECIFICALLY told us the memorial property was at a corner (because only corner locations can have upright headstone). After the flat grave marker for my grandfather was finally delivered in March 2017, guess what, we found the grave marker was in the middle section! Ironically, as we contact this Arcadia company, the corner property just being sold to another family, and the person was buried recently! All in all, funeral services should be honest, but this Arcadia third company of Forest Lawn is full of lies. Our family would never do business with them ever again!

When I arrived at her gravesite, I was saddened to find that her marker was dirty and covered with dirt and grass. I asked one of the Rose Hills employees for assistance. He told me that someone had already been called to help, but after waiting 15-20 minutes, no one came. Because I didn't feel that he was being truthful, I took a picture of the truck as it drove away. A short time later, Alejandro came over and kindly asked if we needed assistance. Ironically, he was in the same truck that had previously been there. Despite the extreme heat, Alejandro took the time to help us with kindness, professionalism, and compassion. While it was disappointing that the first employee was unwilling to assist us, I want to publicly recognize and thank Alejandro for his outstanding customer service. Employees like him make a lasting difference. Job well done, Alejandro! Lastly, Happy Heavenly Birthday to Destiny Williams, Kim Branch, and my beloved Aunt Renee Antwine on this July 27th. I've always liked visiting Mountain View because how beautiful it is especially being so close to the mountains I think Mountain View represents the community ideally Elizabeth helped me last month after my mother passed away. She was professional, kind, caring, and followed up on every detail. I can't see enough about how professionally she was and at the same time how much concern she had for our well-being. She also has great knowledge of the cemetery and I enjoyed our conversations. during one of my visits last month I had problems located my grandparents burial site and I had several maintenance people take time to offer to help me find their gravesite. Everyone who works here, cares about the cemetery and seems to take pride in maintaining it. Mountain View has a small town feel about it, unlike some of the larger corporate cemeteries in Southern California. I cannot recommend it enough.

We've called multiple phone numbers listed for the funeral home. On one occasion, a man answered, but he was very unprofessional and seemed unwilling or unable to provide basic information. It felt like he didn't want to help, and getting answers was unnecessarily difficult. The funeral home may want to have someone better trained or more knowledgeable handling phone calls, as first impressions and communication are incredibly important during such a sensitive time. We've also left several voicemails and were told by other staff members that someone would call us back, but we never received a single return call. It's especially unfortunate because we wanted to use this funeral home since the cemetery is in Monrovia, making it a convenient option for our family. However, due to the lack of communication and poor customer service, we've decided to look elsewhere. I hope this feedback encourages improvements so that other families receive the support, professionalism, and timely communication they deserve during such a difficult time.

They just remodeled the place and it's very beautiful! Everything has been updated from the old pew benches to the new reception area. Adrain was easy to talk to, listened to our stories, and didn't rush us. He introduced us to Francine and she was very nice. On the day of the funeral we had the pleasure of working with Leo and Tom. They were extremely nice and made sure everything was perfect. This is my third time dealing with this mortuary and every time the services were very beautiful! Thank you guys!
