OK, this review is going to be my five star review as soon as someone tells me the other officers…read morename I'll write a review about him. To make a long story short on October 13, 2025 I had to go up to the Warren jail and speak with the officer behind the glass window. He told me he was not giving me any information or property someone else had of mine (my phone) and that I smelled like booze and he was so unbelievably rude. I just ended up walking out so I didn't get myself into any trouble. Anyway, I knew I was getting pulled over as soon as I left and I will tell you that officer W. Kamel was absolutely wonderful. He treated me like a human being. He did pull me over. He did give me a ticket because I was going over the speed limit - I was just highly upset and should not have been speeding. I am a single mom with kids and we are struggling. I had been crying for over 12 hours and I'll tell you officer Kamel was so wonderful. He did walk up to my car and asked me if I had been drinking. We went to the whole process. I'm just saying he needs recognition because I was treated so unfairly by the officer behind the desk and I really appreciate the Warren Police Department. They let me fill out an incident report. They will take care of it. They have it all on camera. They can see how rudely I was treated for no reason at all, I was in shock to be honest. Actually, now I wish I would've got the names of the two officers who I just spoke with. They were absolutely wonderful. They were sergeants who were there on October 15, 2025 at 6 PM. I just want to thank them all for being so nice to me. One bad apple does not mean they all are. I was treated with the upmost respect by the officer who pulled me over in the sergeant. I just met with and I just wanted to say thank you to the Warren police department for not making me feel less than. I'm trying very hard and I seen how serious you took this incident. I'm just grateful for officers like Officer Kamel on the road. Thank you so much.

I have to Warren you that the novel Warren Peace was actually NOT written here. However Warren…read moreBuffett does live here so that's good. And Warren Beatty too. But not Warren Cuccorullo. Which is a shame because I miss that dude. The review of Mr Objective sort of personifies what I feel like some of the Detroit suburbs are exactly like in my expensive experiences. On the other hand there are some really great people here as well and I highly recommend you come and give Warren a try. It's a distant suburb quite far from the downtown but it has some good pizza and good custard and some good ethnic stuff as well so it's a little bit of everything. It's a little bit Caucasian (not diverse enough), and has some racist attitudes I heard a few times, but I hear those in my own town of Clarence all too often too... Warren still has some different cultural flavor is going on here as well. Lots of great suburbs around Detroit with lots of different stuff with an old-time feel but also some lively modern stuff too. Generally nothing like Detroit itself, but it's all part of Detroit really if we're being honest rather than technically precise. Lacks a lot of the soul and character of Detroit but you're probably be a little bit safer walking around here at night. Unless the cops shoot you.

I thought I would expound upon my previous rating. The south side has been slipping away for…read moreyears. Mayor after mayor has promised to do better with it, but once they get into office they seem to lose interest far too quickly. Downtown Warren is located four miles to the north of the southernmost side of the city, which starts at Eight Mile Rd and progresses to 14 Mile Road. When I set up to purchase my house, an international restaurant business was promised to go in and it turned out to be a McDonald's, which brings in the school students and hangers out crowd, and service is abominable there. So, we have drug stores and fast food joints and bars and smoke joints, and closed-store fronts everywhere you look. Meanwhile, at 12 Mile Rd and Van Dyke, new construction is going in for an apartment complex that will have a bridge across Van Dyke for the convenience of the General Motors LLC offices to encourage them to move into these apartments, and there will be several other satellite businesses which will make their home around there. So, I believe that my description of a tale of two cities for the City of Warren is correct. My only advice to the mayor is that once you allow blight to settle in, and by blight I mean neglect and nothing else, it has a tendency to spread, and if you don't choose to address it, you may lose this fair city.

The courthouse is extremely busy, and the staff do a good job at keeping up and keeping business running smoothly. Don't break the law and you won't have to come here. Come as a plaintiff, and usually the job gets done. Just stay on top of things and double check so there's no errors because they definitely happen in a courthouse this busy. The judges have always been fair (the ones I've encountered), and the police as well. There's bad apples in every profession so I won't let one or two spoil my rating of them. They get the job done. Of you feel they're not, then speak up and say something!
