Absolutely the worst place I have EVER been to in my life and I have been to almost half of the dentists in Philadelphia the service was unbelievably awful and they have the rudest most ignorant lady at the desk she needs to be fired! I was asked "How much is your budget, 7,000 ? 10,000 ? " This was before anyone had even looked in my mouth!! I should have walked out right away, but my tooth was hurting so I let them take x-rays. "Dr" Kevin Burton said I had an infected, erupted tooth that needed to come out right away! I asked for an antibiotic prescription to hold me over until I could get the $521 dollars together. He said "We don't give out antibiotics all Willy Nilly". He actually used the term Willy Nilly !! When I was able to see an honest dentist about a week later, I was told the tooth was OK. It was not infected or erupted . It was merely contacting an opposing tooth and was easily repaired for $125. I have documentation to prove all of this. Run fast, Run far !! read more

So I go in because my jaw is swollen from a broken tooth. I pay $54 for an xray and exam. The doctor tells me it's a very bad infection and two teeth need to be extracted. The infection was already in my lymph nodes and could travel to my heart and lungs. His sales person then tells me they won't give me the prescription for antibiotics unless I pay for treatment which was $988. Disgusting! I have the treatment being done for less than half that at Holland Dental. The doctor also said my zpack and antibiotics would go through the pharmacy, but the 20 codeine pills he was prescribing had to be picked up at the office. So sketchy. Ew. read more

Went into to get a bridge, basically top 8 front veneers/cap. Had maybe 4 visits/procedures and was happy with the care. The very last visit when I was to have my permanent bridge completed it was a different dr than I had seen, he seemed very young and inexperienced, and he informed me that they were "trying out a new lab for their veneers". Since the day they completed my bridge I've had improper fit, discomfort, and extremely disappointment. I paid for this out of pocket, cash upfront, and it was a huge and regrettable expense. Decided to wait till after the visit was over to tell us the work needed would cost $6k and they wouldn't take insurance. It felt like a bad used car lot. They are nothing more than salesmen. They also told us that in order to get a prescription (for a bad infection) we would have to agree to pay the $6k. So they let us leave knowing an antibiotic was needed but would not give it. Upon arriving home with my crown in a bag, I looked at the paperwork. I was charged $929 for a zirconia crown. The paperwork in the package with the crown stated that the crown costs $74, and the shipping was $3. $77 total. Paperwork from manufacturing company located in Bristol, PA. i paid 40,000 dollars for Permanent Dentures. they installed the implants at the same time they put in bone Grafts. out of the 11 implants they put in, i was then told that the implants were failing s they had to replace the permanent dentures for snap ins. since then i have lost two more of the original implants and now i am basically just having dentures and the sad part is dentures are 2300, but they have been blaming me for the glue that they recommendedi use. I have been told numerous times that they were supposed to let the bone grafs heal for 6 months atleast before they were installing the implants but instead they really didn't do the job so I highly recommend looking elsewhere. I also had a family member that had a very bad experience with them as well. Sadly they did not help me and blamed me for everything. read more

This medical problem began in 2000 and it took two years for me to find a medical dentistry I could afford. Not wanting to replace my three back teeth with ones I would have to take out every night I knew I had to get implants. Doing my research to have my needs satisfy, the prices I heard had me wondering if something was wrong with my hearing, too. The cost was between $7,000 and $15,000 dollars. Wow! While watching TV a commercial came on about Universal Dentistry - and that they were affordable, I thought to give them a call. After being examined and having read that the bill would be less than $5000, had me questioning my vision. The typed breakdown was the description of those three teeth that I could now afford. Really, I thought. Over the years and 10 more implants later, I have always been treated by the entire staff at University Dentistry in Bensalem with the utmost of professionalism. I called this dentist office before I went there and asked if they took my insurance, to which they replied, "we work with it." They only took my name and DOB over the phone, and when I ask if they needed my insurance info, they said no. I thought nothing of it until I went there the next day. I filled out the normal first time patient paperwork and when I tried to hand them my ID and Insurance card, they refused to take it. As soon as I handed them the paperwork back, they said it will be a $50 charge. I told them I have insurance, and the woman on the left looked at my like a deer in headlights, as if to say she never heard of such a thing. They kept trying to make me pay this $50 for whatever unknown reason and I told them I have good insurance and I don't even have co-pays for any doctors, including specialty doctors. They still looked at me as if they did not understand the concept of insurance, and reluctantly made a copy of my insurance card. After a few minutes, the doctor glances at my paperwork and they first thing she says is "are you willing to pay $50," to which I reply AGAIN that I have insurance and I'm not understanding why they cannot run the insurance. So they tell me it's what they charge and my insurance will reimburse me. However, they can't reimburse me if they don't run the insurance in the first place! So I speak to an office manager who was no help and told me that it's what they charge, and then we went back and forth about how insurance works and the fact that my insurance covers ALL cost, to which this lady replies that I don't need to tell her how to run her office. Well if you told people they would have to pay upfront, regardless of their insurance, then my time wouldn't have been wasted. If you want to pay money upfront, and you DO have insurance, then I suggest you look for another dentist office because they will try to take all of your money. And to top it off, they make you sign a waiver about being responsible for the cost of any dental work, as well as the payment methods they take, which EXCLUDES insurance cards!!! read more

Complete sham. They claim to accept insurance, when you get there they tell you they're a discount dentist and they work "with" your insurance to get you reimbursed. Ad on bldg says dentures 299. That's for your temp then you pay again, more, for a permanent. Receptionist claimed ignorance to our phone conversations, says she is scripted, which means saying false things to get you in. Went as far as to say a regular dentist in network would charge double. Never seen such BS. read more

I highly recommend this office. My husband was the typical "big baby" when it came down to going to the dentist. I made an appointment hoping to get him in the door. The staff was extremely helpful on the phone. Once my husband got there, Jamie at the front desk checked him in. She was extremely pleasant. He was called back by Robin who was patient and explained everything the doctor was going to do. Dr Z was friendly and to the point!!! Thankful that we found this office. read more

One star because none is not an option. They make you pay up front for all work. They CLAIM implants start at $90 but I needed a full set of lowers because of an accident and those cost $15,000.00 UP FRONT. Then things slow down. Jaime at the front desk is a major witch..all smiles until they get your cash but if you file a complaint online, you get her supervisor in your face saying go somewhere else if you're unhappy but of course they already have your money because they won't take an X-ray until you pay up front. Save your money and the aggravation go somewhere else because they DO NOT give a crap about the customer. Okay so Dr. D and Dr. Z are great but you deal with the dregs that are the non professional staff...ugh. You even have to wait for them to finish their breakfast before they even check you in.
