Found this dentist through a friend. He is absolutely amazing. His hands are like gold. I am absolutely afraid of needles and pain and when he gave me the pain killer and injected that big ass needle in my gum..... surprisingly it didnt hurt that bad. He let me wait for a few minutes and he gave me more pain killer. This time around it didnt hurt at all. He began the work, I asked him how long it would take, and he said about 30 minutes. I think all together it was like 15 minutes? Im saying, his hands are magical. Once he started, the drilling gave me a headache so he gave me another round of the pain killer and that made EVERYTHING go away.... When I got home 45 minutes later, the anesthesia started to go away and my teeth started to hurt. My mother advised me to take Tylenol which i did. Again the pain went away. I am really happy with this doc. Highly recommended. Only thing is that they didnt tell us that they only take cash or check and we didnt bring cash nor check. Thats a negative that this office should rethink because everyone nowadays pays via credit card. read more

Definitely recommend. I had my first x-ray and cleaning here last week. The receptionist, hygenist, and the doctors are all very friendly. + Open Saturdays + Offstreet parking (in back, you need to drive into the alley and read the signs) + Professional (the hygenist and doctor know their teeth well, she noticed my class 3 bite condition and was really good about pointing out where I wasn't brushing thoroughly). + Friendly (it's as if you're in a giant family living room, and at some point you sit in a recliner to get your teeth examined). + Sense of humor - the dentist said I should go home and try cracking open some Walnuts because my teeth were fine...he was implying that he didn't need to do any dental work and was joking that I should crack my teeth so he has SOMETHING to work on. - They speak English well, but they speak quickly so you may need to slow them down or ask them to repeat themselves, which they understand and will do kindly. - Small waiting room - when it's busy and packed, you may get the claustrophobia. But, they are on top of their schedules so don't assume that a busy waiting room means that the office is disorganized. If you park in the back, you can enter the back way - which means you get to enter the doctor's hallway area. It seems awkward, but they are quite friendly about it and are welcoming and hospitable. No cavities for me. That made my trip to here even better. Everyone was fun, friendly and totally Russian. I learned that I've been brushing too hard from side to side and causing my gums to recede. Dr. Grigor recommended a soft, small brush and a more up and down brushing pattern. Cost of checkup visit with cleaning is about $100. Dr. Boris Neydlin explained me the options, prescribed the medication scheduled the next visit. THEY CALLED ME BACK NEXT DAY just to check out my conditions. Receptionists are always attentive and taking care of all my procedures. The Xrays were done smoothly. The root canal procedure took 40 minutes to doctor to accomplish. Overall - fantastic. Normally I don't leave reviews but after encountering the dreadful woman Victoria, I thought I'd warn you that she is very unprofessional and blames everyone else for billing errors when she herself is just ignorant and thinks she knows it all. Save yourself the headache and do your own footwork when it comes to your dental insurance because she's bound so screw it up and blame everybody else. It's people like her who make the dentist look bad and make you not want to go back to a good dentist due to incompetence. Just advice for anybody looking to avoid a headache. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Grigor since I was a little girl who had just moved to America, and I must say he's an excellent dentist. (Even though I certainly didn't think so when I was 6 years old and having to get teeth pulled.) Since I've been old enough to realize quality dental work, I would have to say I have never had a bad experience. He never tries to do any excessive work, but will always take care of any problems that are necessary. He removed 2 wisdom teeth quickly and easily, I had absolutely no problems and was good to go the next day. read more

I just got out of a teeth cleaning, after spending close to 2 years avoiding the dentist after my move to California. I am terrified of any dental work (irrationally so), even if it's just a cleaning. I finally was talked into a cleaning by my sister who had also made an appointment at this office. We arrived and were greeted by a very friendly woman who was extremely patient and nice to us throughout our time in the waiting room. She showed us what paperwork we needed to fill out and made great conversation while we waited. I was then taken back to the chair by another lovely woman who put me at ease. Have I mentioned I have a fear of dentists? She quickly brought over the dentist who did a very precise, but quick examination of my teeth. I was then x-rayed. The woman who cleaned my teeth was so nice and patient with me. She didn't talk incessantly, but rather put me at ease and got the job done. Honestly, if for no other reason, I'll be coming back because I really love the staff. They are professional AND nice, a rare California combination. I want to feel at ease when I get anything done, and this group of people (especially the front desk and hygienist) made my fear of dental offices seem unwarranted. read more

I cannot say enough positive things about this place, Dr. Grigor, and his wonderful staff. I've been neglecting my oral care over the years, and was in rough shape when I first came in. They took care of everything. No upselling, no unneeded procedures, and no shadiness. My teeth don't bleed anymore and I'm set up with some great recommendations that all check out to get braces and wisdom teeth removed. (I have an overbite that totally covers up my bottom teeth and my wisdom teeth hurt and are in rough shape. I'm only pointing out this out to further explain that they aren't trying to sell me needless procedures) The last place I went, 6 months ago, stopped my routine cleaning halfway through and explained that I need an invasive deep cleaning. I'm glad I did not do that, after hearing the advice from Dr. Grigor's office. They fixed everything quickly and simply. Dr. Grigor gets right to the point. I like that. His hygienist I first dealt with, I believe her name is Lena, did a fantastic job with my teeth. I didn't catch the name of the second hygienist, a male, but he was super personable and did a great job as well. Patient for life! OMG! This office is fantastic! I'm so glad I was referred to Dr. Grigor. His work is incredible. I have a fear of injections and he numbed my gum and I didn't even feel it. I came to Universal Dental some time ago and now I could say that I'm their customer for the rest of my life. Dr. Neydlin is a wonderful dentist. I had some pain/soreness in my teeth on a Saturday morning and I was flying out of town on vacation on Monday. I needed to see a dentist and my usual dentist wasn't available. I called all around and Universal Dental was the only one that was ok with making room for me. I went in, filled out the normal paperwork, and saw a dentist very quickly. I never write reviews on yelp, but in this instance felt as though it's necessary. I booked an appointment with dr. Grigor because, looking at the several reviews on him and his office, people seemed to enjoy their experience. For me, this proved to be so far from the truth. Every aspect of my visit to this office was just awful. Starting with the fact that they forgot to write my name down in their scheduling book and were almost unable to keep my appointment date. After about a 30 minute wait I was brought in back. I was due for a routine cleaning, including some X-rays, and an exam by Dr. Grigor. Simple enough right? Let's start with the X-rays. The instrument they use to hold the X-ray film in place within my mouth was large. The hygienist Maneuvering this instrument around to X-ray different areas of my mouth could not have been any less gentle. Not only did she take more X-rays than I've ever experience (for just routine X-rays) but the entire experience was more painful then it has ever been. At one point my mouth physically would not close around the instrument. She sat there trying to push my jaw closed, and now a day later I'm left with abrasions throughout my mouth. Never has this happened from x rays before. Then came time for Dr. grigor to examine me. He was pushy and could not have made me feel any more uncomfortable. He seemed to get frustrated that I wanted a second opinion on a tooth he thought should be drilled and filled. Even after telling him this he still tried to push me into getting the procedure. The actual cleaning itself was no better. In addition to the paper bib normally used, the women laid a wash rag across my neck. I was used to the bibs, but never a rag and found it slightly odd. As soon as she turned on the water pick tool I saw the reason for the rag. They must be in need of a new instrument because this thing was shooting water in all directions. It literally soaked my entire face and neck. when asked why this was happening she tried to have me believe this was normal. Additionally she rushed through the cleaning, missing majority of my back molars- I suppose she assumed I wouldn't notice? The entire cleaning took maybe 15 minutes and to me this is insufficient. I walked out of there feeling frustrated and in physical pain. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone going forward. read more

I have not had a regular dentist in a few years. Naturally I ended up getting a bad tooth ache that could not be healed with Advil and I could not stand the pain any longer. In doing a search on Bing for offices near me Universal Dental came up first. I gave them a call and got in right away. Dr. Grigor extracted the tooth with such precision that I did not even know he had done it. He and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The best thing of all is that I did not get over charged. It was extremely reasonable for what he did. I know I would have been charged more if I went somewhere else. I scheduled a cleaning before I left. Looks like I have a new dentist.
