I bought a Sthil Trimmer at the Ace Hardware store in Waxhaw, i could not get the battery into the…read moreunit, I took it back since it was less than a year old and under warranty. The repair department at Ace in Waxhaw told me it was my fault in a rather unfriendly manner and it would cost more than it was worth to repair, that took 3+ weeks to tell me that and charged an inspection fee just to look at the problem. I called Sthil and they referred me to Smith's Turf in Pineville STI, I took it over to them and they inspected and confirmed it was in fact under warranty; it was already a model that had been upgraded and replaced by a new model. STI and Sthil got me a replacement of the upgraded model at no charge. STI was super friendly and helpful really took care of me. I would not buy anything from Ace in Waxhaw, charged an inspection fee, blamed me for the problem, which Sthil said was clearly a defect in the housing identified in seconds not weeks, they were sorry for any inconvenience that may have happen at Ace, STI and Sthil got me the latest model within a few days. What a difference between Sthil dealers, STI fantastic service, ACE Hardware a frustrating, if I could lower than 1 Star I would have.
