They broke a wheel off of my garbage can and refused to pay for a replacement can. When they finally called to discuss the issue, the man who called was smug, saying they didn't cause the damage. When I went to work my van had 2 functioning wheels, and when I returned after they emptied it, one wheel was completely broken off. read more

These folks think that it's acceptable to blare their horn at people in front of them when they aren't going fast enough for them. I work at a place with dump trucks and CDL drivers, this behavior is so unsafe and illegal that it is not even funny. I literally just had another driver almost hit me because they swerved into my lane without looking because one of UNITY DISPOSALS dump trucks would not stop blaring their horn at them. Granted, this was on 198 where the speed limit is only 25mph. The car beside me was going at least 40pmh, but that't not fast enough for them, they need to blare their horn and force people out of their way, even if others get hurt. Don't use this company, keep their awful drivers off the road, it may save a life! read more

The manager and the assistant managers all stated that they were able to handle my needs and then repeatedly failed to keep their word, show, help, communicate or even acknowledge issues. Totally irresponsible and a waste of my time and energy. read more

What kind of company trades lives for speed and money? I would not want them driving in my neighborhood, the drivers are extremely reckless. Who could hire them and bring them near their loved ones? A driver crossed a double yellow lane to pass me (on a bicycle) on a 30mph neighborhood road near a park, with an oncoming car not 30ft down the road. He must have been going at least 40mph. This company does not care about its employees. They don't pay their benefits as promised to the employees. It's all about working harder and harder and not receiving your benefits as promised. I had went a year without insurance. They will under pay you short $300 a check and not just me but several others. It's a fight just to receive your normal salary. It seems the HR department isn't qualified for the position there. You should never have to fight for what you worked for. It also seemed as though one race was favored highly more. I finally found something better and left. I wouldn't recommend this employer ever. read more

This company hit my mothers car as it was parked. The driver that hit my mom was very nice and courteous and gave my mother all the information needed to contact the office to get the car fixed... and that's where it all stops. Someone by the name of Peter Aaron was supposed to contact their insurance and have an adjuster come out to inspect my mother's car to have it fixed. This happened on a Tuesday morning he said the adjuster would be contacting her within 26 hours to get the ball moving. It has been 144 hours (almost a full damn week) and no one has contacted my mother. Instead, we've been calling the office constantly only to be sent to his voicemail. My mother is losing income because of this because her car is too damaged to be driven. Avoid dealing with these guys. read more

We recently moved into a new home and immediate requested a Unity trash bin as we were informed that the garbage would not be picked up in a standard (i.e., non-Unity) bin. It has been 7 weeks and we still do not have a trash bin. We have called, emailed, and filed complaints against them and still no change. This is one of the worst companies you can possible deal with. If you are an individual or an HOA, please (for your own sake) use another company! read more

I liked the company so much that I recommended them to a friend on an association board that was looking for a new garbage company for their community. Today I watched from the window (my son loves garbage trucks) as the recycle group knocked over my leaf disposal trash can and kicked my recycle bin spilling items out. They drove away with recyclables littering my yard and a trash can knocked over. To make matters worse I saw one of the workers pause like he considered picking the items up for a second. I am more than slightly disappointed in the Carderock Springs guys today. Maybe they were running behind schedule today because normally they are amazing; smiles, a wave to kids if they see them and leave the streets looking great. read more

This company provides recycling services for my community. For the past two years they have picked up my yard clippings from the large blue recycle bin (it does not say on the bin "no yard waste"/nor does my community say that yard trimmings must be in paper recycling bags only.) The only restriction is a weight 45 lbs or gallon container (35) of which I don't exactly know how big my container is or how much it weighed. They picked up my lawn clippings for 4 weeks straight then one day just decided not to, mind you they emptied the smaller trash can full of clippings. I called for three weeks straight and was told that it was an oversight and that someone would get it the next week...they never did. One one occasion I was even told by the customer service rep. that they were still in my area and coming back to get mine even after I told her that everyone else on my street had already been picked up. Of course when I got home later that day it was still sitting there. Now of course with the weather this stuff is starting to break down and compost, turn yellow, smell and all kinds of gross things. I finally left them a written comment with my contact information on their website and still didn't hear back. Today, on my normal recycle day I called first thing in the morning to inform them that the recycling is sitting down there waiting for them. I was informed that they would not be picking it up because it was "dirt" and they "don't pick up dirt". I told them that it was 100% yard clippings and that they were yellow because they had been sitting in there for over 4 weeks. The rep. told me he would forward the message on to a supervisor and took my information. Later in the day my neighbor informed me that it had not been picked up again....uggg. I called back and spoke with yet another rep. who now informed me that they would not be picking it up because it was in a blue bin and yard clippings can not be put in the blue bins - only in paper bags. When I told him that I had talked to people at his company last year who told me that it was acceptable to do this and that I had already been doing it this year, he said " well that was last year and a different company". I said no it wasn't, it was your company. He then said "well the contract has changed and we don't do that". I told him that his bins nor his website don't say anything about putting yard waste in the blue bins and he told me that my own city's website said that only yard clippings can be put in paper bags. Since I was not near a computer, I couldn't verify this, but when I got home, and looked it up I saw that he had only been reading half of the statement (the half that benefited his position). I was getting frustrated at this point as I had been given no concrete information and zero help for the past 4 weeks, and he went on to say something in the way of don't get mad at me because you aren't getting what you want. At that point I said "thank you, you have been no help to me whats so ever". I plan on going up to my town government and complaining as I know several others have done so; hopefully we can get rid of this lousy company. read more
