The range I saw was from sale items at 49.99 up to 200+, they have a good, moderate amount of choices at each level, with different brands and accompanying acessories! My ukelele is a soprano, a great beginner ukelele I was practicing with, got it for $75 with tax and a carrying bag included in my purchase, if I remember correctly, tag price was $69.99 I did ask if there was something similar to a brand/type of ukelele I started my practice with but I was then getting sold onto the more expensive pieces that I didn't have experience with and didn't ask for so that was a miss for me. Wish I got more of a relevant recommendation but the workers were sweet, they let us browse by ourselves for a good amount of time before stepping in (which good for me because I needed time to think, compare, and browse). When we went, there were a handful of other customers inside the store, it's located in a small shopping center but the store is bigger inside than it appears on the outside. The parking situation was just okay, not bad, could use a tad bit more space, we went ~1p the parking lot was full minus 2-3 spots but I noticed cars came and went from the time we got there until we left so it seems like there's a couple spots free at any given time due to the traffic coming in and out for small errands. Lots of instruments and accessories to be found inside and the workers seem to be happy to help find what is needed! Pretty well organized inside to find what you need on your own though, I was able to find the ukeleles quickly.

My child likes him and I can see why. Every time, I listened to her played and getting instructions from him, she sounded impressive. He gives good advice on what instruments to purchase. He's very knowledgeable overall and a great teacher! If my other boys are interested in piano, I would definitely seek out Niko and don't mind commuting from a distance. I highly recommend Mr. Malek

Looking the guitar over I noticed the nut for the instrument jack was loose and asked that it be tightened prior to purchasing. On a semi-hollow & hollow body guitars this can be a tedious task, hence why I asked for assistance. The guitar tech, Dimitri, stopped what he was doing and went above and beyond my expectations to remedy the problem. It was not a quick fix and he kept me updated throughout the process. Starving Musician is my first stop when looking for music gear. They have been around as long as I can remember and offer the best trade-in value for your used gear. Always a great experience.

We were looking at their window display at the Christmas Tree and Guitars, when a nice man, possibly the owner? came out front and invited us inside to warm up and look at instruments. We gladly accepted the invitation and he picked up a ukelele and played and sang somewhere over the rainbow for our daughter. She was absolutely enamored and it was her first time hearing live music played and sang. While we didn't actually give this place any business, this is going to be a core memory for all three of us, and we were so touched by the kindness and generosity. Definitely will come back here when she's a bit older to check out their music lesson offerings.

At some point, I became dissatisfied with the service I received at Kamimoto Strings and so I decided to give Scott Cao Violins a try the next time I needed some work done on my cello. I have to say I was really pleasantly surprised with their service, in terms of quality, price, friendliness and turnaround time. Since then, I have been going to Scott Cao Violins pretty much exclusively. I love the convenience of the location and hours for my personal situation, and I haven't been disappointed once with their service. I have found that the longer I've worked with her, the more she learns about my voice and teaches me how to get the most out of it in a healthy way. Prior to taking lessons, my voice would always feel hoarse from improper singing technique. Now it feels stronger and healthier than it's ever been. Kat also does a great job of making her students feel comfortable when practicing/performing. Not easy to do, especially for singing! Given that the price difference was minimal and that it would have been easier for him to do a single session instead of coming here twice, I appreciate that he recommended the separate sessions to give the piano time to settle before subsequent fine tuning. He also recommended an in-piano dehumidifier as my location is very humid (which is true) and there are visible signs of moisture damage inside the piano. I appreciate that he informed me of this, but without being pushy about it.

It was so reasonable in fact that I thought he was just quoting the labor charge. For a price other luthiers would demand just for labor, Yonas hand carved an intonated bone saddle and nut for which he supplied the blanks, installed them and did a complete and quality setup on my guitar. I played for hours after receiving my instrument back. The action is perfect and the sound is what I'd hoped for with the upgrade. You really could not do better in terms of value and quality.

He works out of his house. His prices were reasonable and he gave me some discounts because I brought in two guitars. One was a 20-year old Fender that needed some TLC and a set-up, and the other was an Epiphone SG that needed a set-up and the humbuckers replaced. I've tried to do some of this kind of set-up and repair stuff before on my own, but I guess I'm either too much of an all-thumbs kind of guy when it comes to that, or just don't have the experience to do it right. I bought the humbuckers and some new strings, and brought them to Yonas. He asked a lot of good questions about my style of play, how I like my action, how much restoration work should be done on the Fender, etc. The turn-around was pretty quick, even though there was quite a lot of repair done to the Fender. He made some suggestions on some things I may want to do with the Fender in the future, as the pots were dying out and I might like some different pickups one day. He setup the guitars to my playing style, and when I took the guitars home I was very happy with the result. I can recommend Yonas for guitar repair work. He also teaches lessons, but I have no review of that. But he did seem like a real nice guy. Very mellow and customer oriented.

She doesn't know what she's doing (maybe she can do basic things like changing strings and tuning, but nothing more) and tried to move my bridge but obviously had no plans to move my soundpost or make my bridge higher which would have been needed with her move. She does not stop when you tell her to stop numerous times. I had to start yelling... The luthier found issues with my instruments which other shops were not able to diagnose, yay! However, my instruments were left scratched up (!) and very dirty after the work. They needed to be shaved/sanded and the dust was left all over the bridge, fingerboard, peg box, and instrument surface. One was damaged (chipped); they made no fuss when brought to their attention, immediately apologized, and fixed it. This shop came recommended by multiple professionals. Maybe they figured I wasn't a professional and thus treated my instruments poorly? On the plus side, the price for all work done were very reasonable. They also have parking in the back.

After many scheduling difficulties, he came and tuned my piano within two weeks (I was in no hurry). He travelled from Santa Clara in traffic to tune my piano at 7pm which was very nice for us since we work weekdays all day. He seemed to be very thorough and identified a couple of strings to be replaced but did not pressure we do it now (we'll get them replaced at the time of our next tune). He charged $150 which at first seemed high to me, but appears to be what piano tuning costs these days. We will be calling him back for our next tune.
