We had an issue with our crawl space flooding right before the closing on our house was supposed to happen. They came out promptly and gave us a quote. They were fairly priced and very quick to get the project done when we needed it of them. I had some bumps and sags in my flooring and noticed some of my doors were not closing correctly. I also had cracks in the concrete patio floor and cracks going up the brick wall on my back patio. I began the journey of talking with several crawlspace repair companies and was most impressed with United Structural Systems of Tennessee. Chad came out promptly and crawled all around my crawlspace, took pictures, and then drew the area. He explained completely what needed to be done and came up with a plan. His communications and attentiveness really impressed me because he listened to my concerns. I scheduled the work to be done and the girls in the office communicated both email and text when to expect the workers. Detarius (foreman) and Noah (crew chief) came out started the installation of poured concrete piers and industrial jacks to level the flooring. It took a few days, but I could already tell a difference in the way the floor felt. They also informed me that I had standing water in my crawlspace. The positive drain had failed. Evan (project foreman) came and began fixing the cracks in the concrete by drilling holes and filling the voids with PolyLift material. He even fixed the cracks in the mortar between the bricks going up the wall. You can't even tell there was ever a crack! Matt, Sammy, & Robert came out to do the arduous task of installing a new positive drain system and tie it into the existing drainage system. USS repaired a water damaged joist in my basement and installed 3 jacks for stabilization. They quoted a fair price. The work was done promptly, but I wasn't home when it was done and I had a few questions about the completed work as a portion of the work wasn't exactly per the quote. It wasn't exactly per the quote because they working area was very tight, but the repair was sufficient. They took a bunch off the bill for the reduced scope of the work. Because I had questions, Brandon (manager) came out to answer them. I told him I didn't mind paying a little more to have it done as originally planned. He thought he could get into the tight spot with specialty tools and he came out the next day and did a superb job (more sistering than was originally quoted), well exceeding my expectations and only charged the original price. USS is customer focused, easy to work with and extremely fair. I intend to use them in the future and would recommend them to anyone. read more

Thanks for the quick response via Yelp's "Request A Quote!" The USS team communicated throughly before showing up to inspect our house. They were the second place to come out and check out our foundation. Maybe overkill on my part, but I wanted a few different opinions before deciding what to do. They walked the property inside and out and even went under our house to inspect the beams and supports. Just like the other companies that came out, they came up with the same response, the foundation looks solid and we didn't need to any upgrades or changes. I booked them originally because of a crack in our bonus room, but the USS guy told us it was most likely due to the crazy weather we've been having. I had USS TN level my steps at $1200.00 did good job but they quoted me $3400.00 to level two spot in sidewalk and level car port floor but in the mean time I got Frontier foundation do warrant work and they repaired it right this time now USS is only will to refund me $300.00 and they said it wound be $1200.00 for steps and $1700.00 for the two spots in sidewalk with took about 20 minutes and I did agree to that but they refuse to refund me anymore than $300.00 I'm just asking for the $1400.00 different which I deserve so they get a one for stealing me money.. Jason Zuhlke the project manager no longer communicate about this matter I hove called and talked to at least three other people and they say they will call me back and resolve this but they never call back . I called USS three days before and told Jason Frontier repair car port floor and didn't need concrete leveling now but they still had that person come and do two places on sidewalk with ended up cast me $3100.00 for about 15 or 20 minutes of work. If this doesn't work in me getting a reasonable amount of refund I'll get an attorney even if it cost me more money is the principal of this now so it doesn't happen to anyone else.... read more

These guys were hired by my builder, Beazer Homes, to reinforce the supports in my home. The engineer specs called for 24x24x12 footings with #4 rebar for each post. This is what they claimed to have built and even billed for but only put pre-cast blocks under each post. They worked with the builder to short the repair and as a result my home began to settle again in less than a year. They also failed to secure some of the I-Beams they installed. The relationship between these guys, my builder and their engineer has led to $130k+ in needed repairs to my less than 5 year old home in Spring Hill. read more

We did everything USS told us needed to be done to repair the foundation of our house by putting in piers and poly. The piers have a lifetime warranty certificate. When all the work was complete, we asked them if we were good to put down our new floors. They answered, "Yes, absolutely." So we had new flooring installed ($15,000). The floors started bowing in the exact spot where USS put a plug over one of the piers. Either the plug has come loose and/or the plug was not installed correctly and is causing our floor to bow. We have another place where poly was previously put down, but more is needed. We called them to come out to check the plug and see if the poly is still under warranty. They came out and acknowledged there is indeed a problem. But they won't do anything until we take up the floor. This means we have to spend more money to hire someone to come out to take up the floor, deconstruct our new baseboard, and have part of our house torn up before they will even come out to see if the issue falls under the warranty. Then spend more money to put it back together after they fix the issue of their incorrectly installed pier plug. To put in more poly? Wouldn't you know it's under a 5-year warranty - not a lifetime, and the warranty "just happened to run out," and It will cost us $1400 to put more poly down. You do NOT want to do business with USS. Our friends and neighbors used Frontier Foundation and were pleased with their work and customer service. read more

Received a quote for garage doors lintel repair project and scheduled the one day job for a day 2 months later. They called to confirm the date two days in advance. I prepared and was available for the job. That morning the day of the job they called and said they could not come. We have not rescheduled. I have now rescheduled for a future date, I have moved it up to three stars until repair. read more

Had USS come out to look and see if foundation or floor needed lifting. I had already had one person say it was foundation problem. When I told them that the other company could lift foundation for $29,900, I was told they couldn't come close to that. Then was told it was a floor issue and quoted half of the other quote. I let USS lift the floor which has turned out to be a nightmare. The first time they came, the guys only stabilized the floor. Did little to no leveling. Humps still in floor, dips still in floor and doors still will not shut. The second time they came out I was told that you have to level front to back and side to side, which the first guys did not do. The second group started cranking and cranking and my wife yelled out for me to come see this. They busted the drywall in the ceilings upstairs and walls very bad. Their responce was, it happens. I made them stop. After they left I found busted drywall and cracks in tile walls downstairs also. Not only did we pay over $14,000 to level floor but incurred over $4000 (thousand ) in damage. Floors still not level and have dips in them. Doors still will not shut. The third time they came, I was told "We Were A Casualty of War". We got about 60 percent of what we payed for and that is being generous. I will not let them adjust anymore unless they take responsibility for any more damage. They said no. Was told also on the third visit that when they adjust that much, that we were to sign a wavier for damage that could occur. We did not and if presented with one we never would of signed one. I'm writeing this so one of you would not become " A Casualty of War." Do your due diligence when picking USS. I don't know why it says I'm in CA. as I am in Tennessee. read more

I was not sure if I had a foundation problem but, I was told to at least have someone check it out. The person from the USS text to confirm my appointment and the person who arrived where two different people. Also, the day someone was supposed to come I received a call about 2 hours before they were to arrive, saying there was an emergency and if I wanted to reschedule. I did and the next day someone different came out. I found the man to be in a rush and spent no more than 15 minutes at my house. He was obviously, (to me) very distracted and did not seem too interested. At the entrance of the house crawl space, he kneeled at the entrance, used a pocket flash light and state, "it looks ok to me". He never went farther than the crawl space entrance. Then he gets up and prepares to leave, saying not to listen to the next people who inspects my house. I had no one else, just USS. He never stated what the problem was, just not to spend money on the problem. What problem? He was walking away saying something over his shoulder I could not hear. Just had Garrett from USS fix our sinking steps and sidewalk. He did a great job for us by being thorough, professional, and an excellent communicator. Even when his equipment malfunctioned, he explained the issue to us, and sat in the back of his hot truck for over an hour trying to fix it. The problem required him to come back the next day to finish, and now we have no more worries about people tripping on our sidewalk. Oh, and USS charged 2/3 of what their other "alphabet" competitor quoted. We are very happy customers. read more

I have not yet had a job where I paid USS to do work, but they did come out to look at an issue. Larry was very helpful and honest. He said that I could save money by ventilating the crawl space instead of spending thousands on other things I was told to do. So I called him out to a rental to look at structural issues (sinking, cracks, etc). It seemed like he did a full analysis and he fixed one part of the issue (well, time will tell if he fixed the issue), but he seemed to ignore most of the house. Eh. Then, I called USS out to look at another rental. When I got there, the rep was sitting in his truck. After discussing with him, it seemed he didn't know anything about the house and had not looked around. I tried to ask questions to find out what the problem is, but I got mostly noncommittal, vague "it-could-be" suggestions. Then he left. What a snake! What a joke! If you want a real structure company, put your dollars towards Frontier Basement. Their rep, Jason, came out and was going all over the place analyzing the structure with tape measures and laser tools. They haven't done the work yet for me, but I've been very impressed with their company from Day 1. read more

USS "repaired" cracks in my foundation and walls in Nov 2022. I found new cracks in one of the same walls in Jan 2023. That should not happen 2 months later. The warranty inspector came out and just looked around, took some pictures and said nothing needed to be done. The cracks were just surface cracks. I found new cracks in the front wall of the house(another of the walls they had worked on) in March 2023. This was after I had heard thudding sounds under the house. The warranty inspector came out again on March 22,2023 and said there was nothing wrong under the house (although he did not enter the crawlspace) and the cracks just needed to be "ground" out. They would work me in when a crew was in the area. I continued to hear noises under the house. I have since found cracks in the drywall in that room, woodwork around the window in that room, cracks in the ceiling and around the window in the interior of that room. I also have cracks along the windows in multiple other rooms along with cracks in the ceiling. All in rooms where they worked previously. I also now have cracks in ceiling of one room not involved in the prior USS work plus in the ceiling of the garage, clear on the other side of the house from where they did the first work. My house is in far worse condition now than before they ever started any work. I spoke with the VP Shannon, on April 25,2023 after no one had returned my call the week before. She said they aren't responsible for any interior damage. She said the warranty inspector can tell by looking at the exterior cracks that the crack is or is not related to a shift of the pillars they set up under the house. She set up an appointment for the warranty inspector and the project manager to come together on May 4, 2023 to look at the cracks. This time they did go into the crawlspace as well as the attic. Now they have decided that three pillars need to be retested and possibly reset. But they won't give me any date for this work. I just called again today and was told someone will have to call me back. I purchased another house in another city in February 2023. I need to sell this house and move. But I can't sell a house with a cracking, crumbling front wall, plus multiple other interior cracks. I have told everyone I have spoken to at USS that I am trying to get the house on the market, so I need this work done. They are costing me even more than the over $24,000 I have already paid them. Do not use this company. Their work is shoddy and their warranty is worthless. Their "lifetime warranty" is apparently only to protect them from accountability for their work. The only reason I gave them one star is because I could not give them negative stars. read more

Chad Kues was the project manager that came to check out the water intrusion and some cracks in retaining walls. I had been very concerned about these issues expecting it to be quite expensive to repair. Chad was very honest and knowledgeable- to my surprise, he assured me it was a minor issue and was not a foundation problem. This makes me 100% want to call them again on any other foundation issue I might have in the future on a different property. Wildlife dug under our mailbox (constructed with cinder blocks and fabricated stone) and caused the concrete pad to sink at an angle and crack the concrete structure. USS sent Evan Dennison to make the repairs. He was professional, congenial, and respectful of our time. He was informative of the steps he took to correct the sinking and gave us tips on how to properly maintain the life of the foam (covering with top soil to reduce exposure to the sun's rays). I was worried when I saw stair-step cracks in the mortar around some bricks above our garage but USS quickly came out to diagnose the problem and provide a fair estimate. They just completed the repair today and, after the mortar dries, you won't even be able to tell there was an issue. Richard and Trevor were prompt, professional, and efficient! Now after more than one week of waiting, USS tells me this person is a sub-contractor and does not work for them. Would have been nice to know that from the beginning. Cant speak to the quality of their work, only the quality of their service and character. A representative of theirs came out to provide an assessment on our front steps which seem to be separating from the house. He first said that for them to do the work and warranty the job would run approximately 5400 dollars. After thinking for a moment he said it would possibly be approximately the same price to completely rebuild the steps and that he would recommend finding a mason in the area to price that job. Finally, he told me another option would be to address some standing water issues around my steps(the likely culprit for the issue) and just have a mason dress up the cosmetic issues and monitor the situation. Thats quality, honest service. He explained that United Structural is trying to be an example of a contractor doing good honest work and I really appreciated that. He asked that, in return, I do what I can to spread the word about their business so here I am and, after my experience, I won't hesitate to call them if my own attempts at stabilization don't resolve the issue adequately. read more

I met with an USS inspector by the name of Chip Bertram. He conducted a structure inspection and made his recommendations to repair my house foundation. I also received 2 more bids. I spoke with Chip several more times and during one of our conversations, I mentioned that my front door would not shut or lock. Chip wanted to come back out and bring a second pair of eyes to look at the problem with the front door even though I haven't hired their company to do my work. When I decided to do the work, I hired USS. The work was conducted today and they completed it in one day. The three employees paid close attention to the details to put my bricks and cracks back to as close to original as possible. Even my front door will shut and lock again. They replanted my shrubs and straw and seeded the area they worked in. Very professional work and I am happy I hired USS. I am recommending them on this site and to anyone I meet that needs their foundation repaired. read more
