I can't figure out why my change of address mail is not arriving at my new place. Apparently the only person who knows is the carrier for this route and he's been out for three days, this week, or the last two weeks, depending on who I talk to. Maybe they should make him the postmaster when he returns. One of them told me that they thought the place was vacant so someone must have "put my mail aside somewhere." At least with informed delivery I can see the mail that I'm missing and fix it myself. read more

An incident happened 4/18/2023 at 9am. There was a long line of customers out to the door with only one clerk (Hector) at the counter . Hector was doing a fantastic job and asked three times for assistance at the counter for the long line. An employee Named DON slowly showed up 5 min later to his clerk counter and began sealing envolopes from a stack slowly one at a time. Not noticing the line. Then he went to back and slowly came out with a stack of plastic bins and slowly placed them in line behind the counter still not responding to the line. Everyone in the line was shacking their heads and bewildered even Hector. Then Don returned and began tossing packages through at back portal with no regards to there content. Still not responding to the even longer line. The line of people were shocked at this time. Don needs to go !!! His attitude is aweful. My wife and daughter are scared of him because of the way he acts to women too. Hector was fantastic. read more

Title: The Tape Hoarders (a true story) Author: Liz Date: 5.22.18 Once upon a time my mom asked me what kind of spiralizer I had so she could order her own. I exclaimed, "WAIT! Don't buy one; I have two." Someone had gifted us an extra. I threw the unopened spiralizer in my car with the intent to take it to the post office ASAP. Fast forward a few weeks, life had happened, sickness, school plays, etc, and my mom texts me, "Elizabeth, did you happen to send me a package?" Oh shoot! I checked my calendar...haircut in town coming up...perfect. "It's coming at you soon, Mom!" Went to my haircut, then to the Fallbrook USPS. Walked in with my spiralizer only to realize that all their flat rate boxes were too small. Doh. No biggie. I'll just send it "as is" in the product packaging. It's a sturdy box. I've got this. I get up to the counter and ask.... "Can we send this just like this?" "Oh, um, it looks like it might need some tape." "Okay, can you lend me a couple strips?" "No, we don't lend tape. Here are some rolls of tape you could purchase." "I don't need a whole roll of tape; I have several rolls of tape at home." "Oh, maybe you could go home to tape up the box and come back again?" *crickets* "No, thank you, I live in the mountains. I'm not going all the way home for tape. Can't you just loan me a couple strips?" Fellow employee steps in, "No. We can't loan tape or everyone will want tape." Back to my counter helper, "Hey! We have tape strips you could buy instead! They're only $1.75." Thoroughly exasperated, I purchased the strips. I used what I needed and had left over. To my USPS helper across the counter I proffered, "Want to keep these to donate to the next customer [poor sap] who unwittingly comes in without tape?" Fellow employee interjects emphatically, "NO! We can't do that or people will think we are giving out OUR tape. It costs us money. Nothing is free, you know." (...she says condescendingly to the customer holding a shipping receipt for $10.15 plus $1.75 for emergency tape.) Now, I'm no rocket scientist, but let's just break this down for a second. To me (and I readily admit I am not infallible), common sense and a GOOD BUSINESS MODEL would dictate that you eat the .25 cents it will cost you to loan a customer a couple of strips of tape in exchange for the $10.15 shipping fee they are spending for your services. Every. Dang. Time. Because it's better to keep that customer wanting to come back with their $10.15 over and over than to save yourself the .25 cents here and there. And a GOOD BUSINESS MODEL would NEVER mandate advising a customer to "go home for tape and come back again." Yes, because my time and petrol are definitely cheaper than your .25 cents. *shakes head* Furthermore, if you are concerned about customers confusing donated tape for YOUR tape, then put out a spare box for the donated tape and write "DONATED TAPE" on it. That could have been done in the 30 seconds it took me to walk to the door after my transaction. I'm just so profoundly baffled by the stinginess of this USPS branch. It makes no sense for them or their customers. No wonder USPS is losing customers to UPS; the latter seems to understand that in the world of customer service, sharing is not only caring, but it ultimately engenders loyalty and, therefore, generates revenue. I thought that local Offices could not get any worse than the one in Escondido. Boy was I wrong. Ever since they allowed us to sign up for their Informed Delivery online, we have been able to see how many pieces of mail DO NOT get delivered to our address. And to rub it in, they added a checkbox for us to click if we do not receive letter mail. It does not do anything. It is just a "feelgood button". Not only that, but when you start to complain, they do not let you know you are getting any mail by stating they "could not scan it." When that happens, you cannot feel good by checking the 'not received' box. Now, since I have been placed in their Little Black Book (it DOES exist!), my packages have been "out for delivery", and then returned to the Office for sorting. When I call, they start making excuses like, "No gate code" when I have no gate, or when questioned about the response online, they claim the carrier entered the wrong code for failure to deliver. One time, they FAILED to deliver and cried that the box was too long to fit in the truck and asked if I could pick it up. That was their lame excuse that day. It was only 6 feet long and maybe 12 inches square on the end. So here I am today with a package that they once AGAIN FAIL to deliver. And since Monday is a holiday, I am sure they will hold off on attempting to deliver it on Saturday. I wish they would investigate carriers in Fallbrook. read more

So back in July of 2019 I bought a P.O. Box from here. Months go by and I do not receive my mail other than amazon items when I physically type in the address. Over the course of the months I put in two change of addresses to the P.O. Box hoping that would solve this problem, it did not. So after two payments of 67 dollars and receiving yet another persons mail in my P.O. Box I went in to get it refunded. The "supervisor", Max, went ahead with the process but had another guy tell me the price while he hid in his office. I only got 33 bucks for a service I did not get. Max essentially told me since I filled out the change of address wrong the second time it was my fault for this issue. I filled this out in front of an employee that verified it. What a joke of a place, what a joke of customer service, and what a joke of a supervisor. Making his employees spill the bad news because he just can't muster it up, pathetic. read more

Im giving three stars because of several long time employees who are very sweet and helpful each time i go in. But...i just had THE worst experience there with an employee ive never seen there before. A hispanic woman with burgundy hair wearing regular clothes was stomping around in heels slamming things around. O handed her a print out of an email i receives saying UPS tried to deliver my package but i wasn't home so they took it to the post office where i can pick it up. This lady skimmed through the email then with the most snotty voice, said "i need a tracking number" and i pointed to the one in the email. She said that was from UPS and not USPS then walked away. So as i proceeded to search for the original email on my phone, another woman, elderly, walked up with the same situation as me. She got the same rude, snappy response and the poor confused old lady walked away. I signaled for postal lady and asked another question trying to get clearer instructions and this woman just barked at me and said "what do you want me to do?" I looked at her in disbelief and said I couldn't believe she was taking to me like that and she got cocky and went "yep" . I told her she is totally unprofessional to speak to me this way. She made another cocky reply so i left. How does someone get away with treating customers like crap? Are you kidding. Definitely reporting this lady. read more
