In the 20+ years I have owned my own vehicle, and I am now on my 6th car (I tend to keep things) I finally had more than just a nick in the windshield. The crack was as long as my arm.
I was rejected from the vehicle inspection for my parish because of a crack in the windshield. I wish this was better communicated. I jokingly said that it wasn't in my field of vision, because I am short enough to see under the crack. I didn't even get a chuckle. All I was told was that this would be a brake inspection. But that isn't the case. **heavy sigh**
This was the third place I contacted to replace my windshield. I have a speech impediment and others have a difficult time understanding when I talk on the phone. The first place never got back to me and the dealership I contacted referred me here. So here I am.
I emailed about 9am on last Wednesday, and they promptly got back to me. The person responding to the emails used all capital letters, which one can imply to mean yelling or screaming, but they gave me all the information I needed and set a date for the guy to come to my work to replace the windshield.
The guy called about 15 minutes before he arrived at my work which was nice. I work in New Orleans East, and they came all of the way out. I am so happy. My only concern was, after he had finished up, the payment (they accept cash, check and credit card) completed, he stated not to drive the vehicle for 2 days. Really? How in the world am I supposed to get to and from work, and do everything else? I live about 25 miles away from work, I am not married, and have no other vehicle. He did say he was kidding, I did ask google and was some what reassured, but really? I am not supposed to drive my car for 2 days? read more
