Not only do I love the renovated LaGuardia Airport in general, but THIS United Club lounge gets both thumbs up from me. It's not big like the one at ORD, and thus, it's quieter. It is high above the terminal in a long strip overlooking the gates below, with a nice view of the airplanes on the tarmac. Each section along the wall can fit only pairs of cushy seats. So it feels more private than the bigger lounges, where I usually have to work at tuning out others' conversations. Great for some quiet time before boarding! The agent that checked me in was really nice and cheerful. She offers me their WIFI password without me asking. Food selection though is just like any of UA lounges with cheese, crackers, bananas and other snack food to munch on. Being located Pre Security, please give yourself at least 15-20 minute or so before boarding to arrive at your gate. It is not worth missing your flights over some bar snacks and cheap beers! read more

Due to the small size of the airport terminal, this lounge, as a result is not congested, and very peaceful. We had only one screaming kid. Overall, five stars, with the usual offerings of espresso machine, snacks, free wifi, comfy chairs and a great luxurious environment overall. However, deduct 1-2 stars for the location uniquely being BEFORE security -- that's a major downside. Not United's fault, they have to live with the old layout. read more

Located outside security really - this is pretty ridiculous, what happened to a nice relaxing atmosphere prior boarding your flight, it's no wonder this club was nearly empty when I arrived post flight. I suggest you have TSA pre-check if you stop here prior to having to board a flight or at least a good sense of how long the security line is to ensure you have time to make it to your gate. The staff was friendly enough but the location negates any positive amenities this club offers. You have to remember you're at LGA, and things at LGA outside of the club are marginal at best, I should know because on another visit I had the displeasure of sleeping in a chair overnight in the baggage claim area. So in other words, the United Club is the Ritz. Well stocked nibbles to much on, I had a couple glasses of wine and recharged myself and my electronics. It's a good place to decompress from NYC before coming home to the slower pace of Chicago. My only complaint, and I know it's been mentioned is the location, having to go through security means you have to allow for extra time. I've been lucky with this since I usually fly first class and I'm also pre-check so I can steal a few more minutes of comfort. read more

The LGA United Club is the second time I've used their lounge (first being at EWR). Aside from the fact that it is located pre-security, it was an enjoyable visit. Although compared to Laguardia itself, a trip to Guantanamo might be considered club med. So being able to lounge on the spacious leather chairs and having standard cheese/crackers/pub mix snack selection and complimentary domestic beer and well drinks made the 6 hours and counting layover that much more tolerable. Bottom line: Club is more than decent. As far as the airport goes, Joe Biden was onto something. read more

Located outside of security near Concourse C; entrance is just behind the ticket counter. While easy to find, I do wish I could come here and relax post-security! But hey, can't fault United for the sucky layout of LaGuardia Airport. This lounge is very spacious considering this location is not at a United Hub. Been here 2x, not a bad lounge at all. Clean, well stocked and big. MY PROBLEM: For my 7 hour trip to Europe first class I am welcomed in with open arms, but my 13 hour 1st class flight to Hawaii, you are not welcomed in unless you buy a day pass. No don't get me wrong, I know that is a US airline thing, international 1st class only, but if I didn't buy a pass for my wife and I, we would be fighting for side by side waiting area seats in that third world style dump called LaGuardia Airport after spending 6 thousand dollars to fly both of us on United. The new United lounge is insude security and has a great overview of all the new gates at LGA. Really nice, so nice all the Air Canada customers are using United's lounge instead. Now if there's a weather delay you don't have to worry about going back through security, just take the escalator or elevator up. Minutes from the gates. read more

Pretty nice place. The tomato bisque is delicious and the fruit infused water was delightful. You apparently get wine and beer with your pass but I didn't indulge. I love having a nice place to sit, recharge myself and my electronics before boarding my flight. The location is just prior to TSA so allow extra time. read more

United Clubs in general aren't as luxurious as some other international carriers but when you find one that's not overcrowded it's great to be there. Wavering between a 2 and 3 star for this one...but, the tremendously friendly bartender lands it its 3-stars. LGA is an old, not updated airport- & this lounge suffers from the same fate. Having been in the truly spectacular Heathrow United club this one just can't compete. But, it does get a much more "neighborhood/local" crowd... befitting the commuter type airport. Here's my ratings: - Food: 2 stars- some soup, raw veggies, dip, and stale trail mixes. - Drinks: 2.5 stars - house wines, beer & liquor @ no charge over whatever you paid along the way to get in. Premium stuff (most brand labels) same as airport bar prices. - other amenities: 3.5 stars- cozy, quiet lounge. Comfy chairs. Big selection of reading materials. Old, but clean. - Location 2-stars. It's before security- but has cams that you can see how long the line is. And, it's a small airport. Didn't take me long to get through. First time visiting the LaGuardia Airport United Club and I've been to a couple now. Every staff member I met there was great except one, but I don't want to focus on one person since the rest of my experience there was great. They have a great and professional welcome as soon as you come up the escalator, nice quick description about the lounge area and features, wifi code, and where the restrooms are located. The lounge is relatively large with ample professional chairs, many different varieties of newspapers, and outlets at almost every seat. The complimentary food selections is smaller than some of the other United Clubs I've been to, but still very clean and professionally upheld. On the bar side, I found it a little larger than some of the others we prompt service. I want to rave about the staff because I arrived with only 45 min. left of the lounge open and they were very accommodating and understanding that they still have a few guests there and need to start cleaning up, but also want to still take care of them. I wish I got her name to thank and praise her, but one of the servers saw I went up to the food area so see what was there and I think could see the disappointment in my face that the one and only soup was taken away. I grabbed a few cheese pieces and a glass of red wine from the bar and had a seat. Right after I sat down, she approached me and asked if I would like some soup and she could get it right away. I have to admit, I was pretty taken back that she noticed and cared enough to come over. Such a kind and attentive gesture that really made a difference. Big kudos to her! Honestly, all in all, the only negative I had was them closing the bar 30 min before the lounge closed. Maybe just keep an easy to reach open bottle of red/white for the last guests there who might want a glass. But besides that, I still give them a strong 4 stars for the staff, cleanliness, professionalism, and personal touch! read more

First, the cons. If you have a late flight, beware, the bar closes at 7:30 p.m. and the club closes at 8 p.m. Thankfully, they allowed us to stay in the club until 8:45 (our flight was delayed until 9:30 p.m.) but no bar service. No food. My major complaint is the club's location which is before security. You really need to pay attention to the tv showing the line at security to know when you have to leave the club and get in line. Hate that. Looking forward to the renovation when the club will supposedly be located after the security checkpoint, Pros: When it is open, this club is very typical. Cheese, crackers, shortbread cookies. If you're lucky, they'll have humus and pita and maybe a soup. There are a lot of comfortable seats and plenty of charging areas. The greeters are friendly as are the bartenders. read more

We arrived to the NYC United Club at 6:30 pm when they close at 8pm. We were literally the only 2 people in there. Thinking 90 minutes is more than enough time to eat and drink, we were wrong. The food was sitting out for hours and hard/stale, not to mention that it was only cookies, crackers, and cheese. My fiancé grabbed a piece of cheese and then the lady later removed the cheese right after my fiancé grabbed a piece. So my fiancé grabbed a few cookies, then the lady quickly removed the cookies too. I ate nothing because the food was such crap and it was like they didn't even want you to have anything. We got horrible vibes from their staff - I guess there can even be homophobic people in NYC as well. I don't drink, but my fiancé does. He ordered a bud light around 6:45 and then the bartender calls last call at 7pm and only allows my fiancé to have 1 more bud light. If you are still charging guests to enter up until 8pm, then you have to serve up until that time - i'm pretty sure some states have laws for that too. Kind of like if a store at a mall closes early, they can be fined sometimes. Those food/drinks cost barely nothing too, but it costs a lot to enter. Such a joke, we would rather use that money at a fancy restaurant in the airport and get multiple entrees with real food. read more
