This is one of the WORSE business to work with. Most recommendations are good this has been by far the biggest headache of a company to have dealt with. I can't wait to be done with them. The DO NOT understand the concept of following up with clients. They DO NOT return phone calls. My "case" marked closed when I hadn't even recurved my final payment. The adjuster working my closed case had been let go for months and I only found out because I ended up contacting him. Since then I've had to do their job order to get my claim paid and closed. I started working with David after Hurricane Irma in Sept of 2017. When we noticed there was a leak in the master closet. It soon became apparent that we had multiple roof leaks. He first resolved the bathroom/master leak and we were able to rip out the old tub and wall that was leaking and put in new sheet rock. His company handled that very quickly. The roof replacement took a bit longer because the insurance co did not want to pay for a new roof. David and UCS kept at it until they got me full replacement cost of my roof. I have heard good things about some of the employees, but I would steer clear of David Berkowitz if you choose to hire this company. We were referred to him by our remediation company, who thankfully ate the cost of the second adjuster's fees as an apology to us for how badly our case was mishandled. He has a great job - he does not return phone calls or emails, screws up details of cases, etc and still collects 20% of the money that his clients recover, even when (1) another adjustor had to step in and clean up his mistakes and (2) we had to hire another attorney to get us the final settlement. We were told that David was "shocked" when he was made aware that they settled with us for 100% of what we were owed. Not sure that is the kind of attitude someone wants in his or her public adjuster. read more
