The agent then put on fresh gloves before apologizing for having to open it up. I joked with her that I needed a pack of rubber gloves so I wouldn't have to use so much alcohol spray when traveling. She then offered me a few pairs of gloves if I wanted some. My flight was delayed, so I moseyed on down to the cafe to get a snack for the road. Lafayette airport has the best airport food ever. The server brought my food, & it was the wrong order. She went back to the kitchen to ask the manager to personally make it for me. Then she said I could keep the previous order and she also extended me 20% off of my bill. I tipped her handsomely, including some two dollar bills, which she got a huge kick out of. Stopped in their pristine bathrooms and thankedthe attendant for always keeping them so clean. We chuckled about how filthy airport bathrooms are, and she said when she travels, she has to resist the urge to clean up other airport bathrooms. I've said it before, but Lafayette airport is the best! Especially for international travel.

I will say that this location tends to be consistently clean, and the new design has accommodated more comfortable seating/lounging arrangements that have truly elevated the space! Flying in from California is such a hassle. I've flown in primarily into New Orleans for the past decade because that's how inconvenient/expensive it is to fly into Lafayette. Sometimes what could fly me into New Orleans for $150 roundtrip may cost me $700 ONE WAY into Lafayette. It just doesn't make sense, and on top of that, the rental cars are more expensive as well due to a smaller fleet and less competition, as there are only 3 companies in their terminal, I believe. I do wish for expansion, as I will likely be flying back into Acadiana Parish the rest of my life to visit family and my hometown. It would make a huge difference in the quality of my travels into Louisiana, as my commute would go from 2 hours to 15 minutes if they could figure something out! The location tends to be clean, but I will say they need to get the rental car center together. There shouldn't be crazy waits on cars, especially with such a small fleet. The airport does what it needs to do otherwise, and I haven't had major issues outside of price and inconvenient rental car hiccups.

From the lady who checked my bag, to the TSA agents, to the gate attendants just wonderful people. I hadn't been to the Lafayette airport since they remodeled. It is so nice and clean. The bathrooms are very clean and modern with motioned sensors for the soap and water. They also serve French Truck coffee here, which is a fave of mine! Definitely recommend flying out of Lafayette if you have the option and it makes sense for where you are going!

No pancakes, no waffles, just fruit and warmed-up dishes. I'll save the money next time and go up the street for a real breakfast.

The airport in Lafayette is a small regional airports which means less traffic and easy to navigate. The TSA in Lafayette has a standard line and Pre-check line for waiting but for the actual walk through there is really just one line. The advantage of Pre-check is not having to remove your shoes, light coat, and liquids. They still ask you to remove the PC from a case. They are pretty friendly here and the line generally moves pretty quick. There are times when they are on breaks or if someone is late in the morning the line might be slow or closed for a short period but I have never missed a flight due to the TSA checkpoint here.
