Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport

My husband and I decided to do a sort of pseudo road trip through Wisconsin and the surrounding…read morearea, but instead of driving all the way back home, we eventually flew out through Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport. For a smaller regional airport, it honestly made a very good impression on us. One thing I found interesting is that despite being called an "international" airport, Austin Straubel mainly serves regional and domestic travel throughout the Midwest, though it does occasionally handle international charter and seasonal flights. The airport itself is named after Austin Straubel, the first Brown County resident killed during World War II, which adds a small historical layer many travelers probably don't realize while passing through. The airport was clean, organized, and extremely easy to navigate. In many ways, it reminded us a lot of our home airport in Sioux Falls -- Sioux Falls Regional Airport, or FSD as locals usually call it. Smaller airports like these may not have the giant terminals and endless amenities of places like O'Hare or DFW, but honestly, there is something refreshing about being able to get through security quickly, find your gate without walking five miles, and not feel completely overwhelmed by crowds. Traffic inside the airport was fairly light during our visit, and there weren't many planes moving through at the time, which made the experience feel relaxed and low stress. There honestly isn't a dramatic amount to say about the airport itself, but perhaps that's part of the compliment. Everything simply worked smoothly. And after enough years of travel, my husband and I have learned to deeply appreciate airports that make life easier instead of harder.

A very cute small airport. It is extremely limited in food options or shopping.....but they will…read morehave a few last minute options: GB Packers options, curds, and spotted cow beer for the plane.

I called Bultman on to get a quote on a Limo for a business trip from Appleton, WI to Green Bay, WI…read moreand was quoted on the phone by a woman $130. I specifically asked her if this was one way or each way. I was told by her that it was roundtrip. After calling a few other places I called back to Bultman and received a gentleman who I spoke with and he confirmed the pricing. I also questioned the rate and vehicle again because the last women did not ask me how many people where going. After the gentlemen confirmed the pricing I let him know I would book the limo. The gentleman sent me out their contract via USPS because they will not accept contracts via fax. After waiting a few days to receive the contract I noticed the rate on it had changed to $260. I called to question why the rate was $260 now. The woman who gave me the original quote said that the $130 was for each way. When I let her know that I spoke with her almost a week ago and I specifically asked if the $130 was roundtrip or one way and was told by her it was roundtrip. The woman informed me that roundtrip only means one way! I told her to cancel my reservations that a roundtrip is for both ways that you do not buy airline tickets that are roundtrip and only get one way. The woman who provides pricing needs to be informed the meaning of roundtrip. I will not do business with a company who tries to change pricing! Good thing I read my contracts! BEWARE that they may try to switch pricing on the contract! Read the fine print with them!!!

Tom shared stories about his father seeing curly playing football in the park, to attending games 70+ years ago. I was surprised to learn that the Packers organization is a corporation that is owned by shareholders not a billionaire. When money is needed, they don't sell the name of the stadium they sell shares. Interesting the coldest game day was 13° below zero, brutal! Tom's love & knowledge about the Packers was contagious. We took a 2 hour tour of Lambeau Field where the Green Bay Packers play football. The stadium opened in 1957 & is the 2nd largest football stadium in the country. It was named in memory of Packers founder, player, and long-time head coach, Earl "Curly" Lambeau. It's accessible by metro & seats over 81,000. It's jokingly called the frozen tundra. The legendary tour for $38 included the Atrium, premium seating areas, end zone rooftop and clubs, Lee Remmel Press Box, visiting team locker room, it ended with us walking through the team tunnel onto the field.

From selecting the perfect package to booking and changing, through information desk staffing and phone calls, all the information I wanted (and more) was provided. We stayed at the Radisson as part of the Silver package, upgraded to include the player reception, did the stadium tour and the hall of fame - as well as the tailgate party and game tickets, obviously. Originally I hadn't planned to upgrade our game tickets from the standard 'endzone' option, but when they offered several options at the office, I couldn't refuse Section 113 upgrades for $20/ea. Maybe some would say you're paying a premium to have all of this coordinated for you, but in some instances (this being one of them) it was totally worth it. The whole trip became a series of 'show up and enjoy' moments. If you're trying to plan a trip to GB - especially if it's your first time and you want to make sure you have the full experience - highly recommended.

You're greeted with a locker stocked with a cozy robe and spa shoes, then welcomed into a serene relaxation lounge offering make your own tea, coffee, and light snacks (yes, even almonds and yogurt-covered raisins!). The spa amenities alone are worth the trip: a refreshing plunge pool, a sauna with icy cloths, a steam room, a waterfall hot tub, and a stunning pool. It's easy to lose track of time moving from one space to the next. There's a no-technology rule, so check online for photos--but honestly, being unplugged makes the experience even better. I booked the Uniquely Yours massage, and it completely melted away my stress-filled knots. If you can, ask for Diana--she's exceptional. The optional CBD cream was a game changer and elevated the entire treatment. And the shower afterward? Incredible. Multiple shower heads, every product you could need, and even a Dyson hair dryer to finish. I could have stayed there all day. If you're looking to truly unplug and let the stress melt away, the spa at Lodge Kohler delivers in every way--thoughtful touches, luxurious amenities, and skilled therapists who make you feel cared for.
