More of a social gathering among friends while getting pampered at the same time. I was unable to get an appointment at my regular salon or anywhere else. I was so happy that the owner herself was able to get me in last minute. I have lived near the Crestview Shopping for many years and this is the first time I checked out this salon as I never noticed it before. It is nice to know I can get some beauty pampering which was not only convenient, but affordable and satisfying. Everyone there made me feel comfortable and welcome. When you ask them again for shellac, they tell you that it's the same thing and different company just calls it differently. Errrr... I never go to those salons that says that. Shellac isn't the same as gel. It's a blend of polish and gel, and I actually find it better for my nails than regular gel is. Carina, also the owner, does my nails for me all the time. She's great with the details and making sure you are completely satisfied with the results. And whenever she does my shellac, it looks great and doesn't chip or peel for 3-4 wks! She does amazing work! Today, I went to Carina to do my hair. She helped me do a dark base with nice pretty highlights throughout. Turned out great! I was referred by my mom, which wasn't necessarily a plus, even though my mom is pretty young and pretty cool. Not a dig, it's just that our styles are very different. I did notice that my moms hair always was great once she started seeing Caroline. One day, while out with my grandma who lives out of town, Caroline walks in and says hello to my grandma by name. Personable, conscientious, and does good work? I gotsta meet this lady on her turf. I was able to make an appt for the next day by calling and leaving a message. The rest was by text. My dream! I was able to send pics of what I had to work with and sorta what I was going for. I showed up and she took a lot of time to make sure she knew what I wanted. I'm sure I'm not goo at communicating in this way, but I've never felt that someone took the time I really make sure they could translate my vision into a short and long term plan. I went 2 days in a row so she could perfect the purple since I've had red, pink, purple and blue so it would look like one head of hair. I was just going to work with it, but she insisted. Pricing was super reasonable and I want pushed to buy products. I'm going to start bringing the man and the teen here. You get what you pay for and Caroline is a bargain for the work she does.
