I'll be the first to admit, I am a freak of nature when it comes to my hair. Prior to going to…read morethis salon, I had never been back to see a stylist more than once (never double dipping). I usually perform a sort of "hit and run" with beauty salons --going in for a single visit where I let the person have their way with me and then write them off due to their mediocrity in creativity. That was until Christiano Cole started doing my hair. Pause momentarily while I show my work. When I went in for my first visit, I had no idea what I wanted. I honestly told him, "Do whatever you want, so long that it is not the current 'dirty dishwater brown' that it is". It was icky and I knew it. His face lit up like Christmas morning and it was evident that it had been a bit since someone had given him total creative freedom on their locks. I told him to surprise me and that I did not want to know what he was going to do until he did the "post-blow dry turn around" --the big reveal. He graciously obliged and offered me some coffee (a nice touch). The salon was okay. It had just been remodeled and while it seemed to lack any central theme, I didn't really care too much. I'm the type of lady that would rather have Gisele Bundchen hair done in a dirty closet, than go to a salon that resembles the Taj Mahal walking out looking like a broke down version of Coolio. Sue me. Christiano began applying the color: briskly, thoroughly, and the entire time keeping me entertained with conversation. When he was done, he washed me out in the shampoo bowl. It felt INCREDIBLE, he was firm but not too firm. Then, he gave me the most beauteous blow dry I have ever had. I felt like a Victoria's Secret model with all of the attention. He flipped me around aaaaand ...... BAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMM! Amazeballs. My hair looked and felt so silky, so bold, so red, so sexy. And the best part of all was that it looked perfect for me. It looked personalized and had a distinct style. It screamed, "I am a sexy power banker, give me your money and watch me take over the world". A perfect personification of the band Cake's "Short Skirt, Long Jacket". Exactly what I was going for. Bravo, Christiano. You have a customer for life in me. Now stop reading this and make an appointment with Mr. Magic Hands. Right now.

I'm actually very chill with haircuts and open to stylist suggestions, but I'm also a lazy person in the aspect I don't take time to style my hair. Naturally, I stick to a long hair cut with layers and bangs on & off - depending on how I feel and the season. She was incredibly easy to talk to. She got to work quickly after I told her something basic: "I want 3-4" off to get rid of all my dead ends, keep layers, no bangs since it's summer." She didn't try to persuade me into a completely different hairstyle. She only offered suggestions when she asked about the face frame/side bangs. I trust way too easily, so since it was such a pleasant conversation, I told her she can do what she thinks was best. I absolutely loved my haircut that I might try to get a haircut more than once a year! She really makes you feel pretty during the process, and she's so cool. I'm a little too laid-back with my haircuts, but she is pretty passionate about what she does. I really like my hair even if it looks the same, just shorter. I love how my side bangs turned out though~ I'll definitely be back! (:

Kellen and Taylor have both worked their magic on my hair for the past year and a half. They're both SO insanely talented and nail it every single time I'm in the chair. Their experience and knowledge is well beyond what I've seen elsewhere. I've been going blonde for years and years, but I've never been so impressed before Kellen's. The salon is beautiful and trendy, the girls are so kind and easy to talk to, and the hair is worth every penny. Will DEFINITELY be back!

I usually do not share negative reviews but I feel that there needs to be some accountability held…read more I will be honest about all positives and negatives. I recently went to Kellen's salon for a color correction. I have only been a bleach and tone for the past 6 years but I took a break for a year. I made an appointment for a color correction to platinum blonde. I paid $475 + tip at my appointment for a color correction and hair cut (this was discounted from $525. I think because of the result of my hair.) They did also give me a free bottle of purple shampoo. This was nice but not necessary to make me feel better about the results. My appointment in total took 7hrs (It has never taken more than 5 hrs for a color correction and I have fairly short hair and an undercut). During my appointment 3 other clients were taken and I felt like I was left for very long periods of time without checking on my hair. I feel like for the price I would expect a little more attention to watching my processing. When my hair was done it was a very bright very yellow color with obvious bands. The top and underneath were two different colors. My hair was extremely fried and there was a ton of breakage. This has never happened once when bleaching my hair. I also asked for a bob haircut that turned out extremely uneven. The next day I messaged for a correction to my toner and they did promptly schedule me and did not charge me for the correction. I have to say I still was not satisfied with the outcome of the correction and it was still extremely uneven in color with a prominent band. The stylist doing my hair seemed to not know how to properly correct it. Another hairstylist (first day at the salon) advised them on most of the correction. She also was not able to fix my bob haircut and the new stylist had to take over to correct it (I would like to emphasize that the new hairstylist did a fantastic job on my haircut!) Lastly, for the service I received I think my appointment was extremely overpriced. Most of the reasoning for the price was due to the high rent in the building and the cost of the product. While I understand that, I think the price should reflect the skill and ability of the stylist. Rent and product should be considered in the price but not the bulk of what I was paying for. I have attached pictures of my hair after the second appointment, my hair before the appointment and my goal photo (my goal photo was my hair 4 years ago so I know it was achievable or at least in the realm of being close to that color)
