Salon de Joi is a good salon. Good haircut by Wanee. Unfortunately she doesn't use straight edge razors, but electric. I'll return knowing that I'll need a trim sooner with no razor shave. read more

After covid hit, the salon I used to go to for years had to close. I thought I would never be able to find another stylist who could cut my difficult "Asian" hair but I was wrong! After reading positive reviews about "Salon de Joi", I decided to give them a try since they were very close to my home and I'm so glad it did. Joi did an amazing job! And she is such a delightful, friendly soul. She is a true artist with attention to detail which I can appreciate. And her price was very reasonable. I will definitely be going back! read more

Joi is an absolute angel. Hands down, I had the best customer service than anywhere else I have been. Since I move/travel a lot with my job in the Coast Guard, I have experienced many different hairdressers, but Joi was far superior than anyone I have seen. She listened to what I had to say, didn't rush me, and was so understanding when I was late to my appointment. She even offered me a ride home! She was so accommodating with her hospitality, and gave me the best balayage I've ever received. I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Thank you, Joi! read more

Joi, thanks for doing Ciara's hair! She said that you did exactly what she wanted at almost half of the price of other hair salons! She love it! Definitely will recommend! Thank you! Glenda and Ciara read more

Salon was very accommodating, getting me in at the time I needed. I specifically asked for someone familiar with long, thick, curly hair to do an all down style. My stylist, Maru, was very kind and sociable, and didn't seem too lost in my mane, but have a huge sticker shock when I went to pay. $60 for a blow dryer and curling iron in my hair. No cut or color or special products/treatments. My hair didn't come out quite like I had wanted and my style completely fell apart within the hour leaving the salon, however, I called, and thankfully, I was able to go back and get the retouch I desperately needed. All-in-all, I was pleased with my service but not blown away. I really did appreciate how well I was treated, especially coming back a second time, but it wasn't love. read more

Salon de Joi - Curls by Maru. No cut, no wash, just style for $60. - Hair Salons Near Me - Yorktown, Virginia

I'm not from the area but visit this part of Virginia frequently since my partner resides here. I was looking around for a haircut that was desperately long overdue (hadn't had one in 1.5 years) and found Salon de Joi. I was so happy with my decision!! Lauren did an amazing job creating the exact style I wanted. My hair is super thick and between washing, cutting, and drying, she spent 2 hours on me and was super personable and friendly. Looking forward to coming back when my hair needs some more love! read more

This was my first time coming here by a recommendation from a coworker who has been coming here for years. Joi was very professional and personable. She makes you feel comfortable. She has good suggestions and listens to what you want. I asked for layers and and a bang trim. Some places when you ask for a trim on your they end up taking a lot more off. Joi cleaned the bottom loose ends and thinned out my hair. She even styled it with some curls in the end. The hair was was also relaxing as well. The salon is very clean and the other ladies there are also very friendly. Highly recommend this place. read more

I found this salon doing a search on yelp, it was close, had good reviews and they had a same day appointment which is what I was looking for. I'm so glad circumstances led me here! I booked my appointment online with Joi. She was FABULOUS! Super nice and very thorough as she cut my hair! Very open communication with what she was doing and why. And the best part (as I was getting a bob, short in back) is she said she would dry it and straighten and let me see before she continued so she can change anything or make it shorter. I felt very comfortable and confident she was doing a great job! Other salons will let me see the back when the haircut is over, and by that point I feel changes are too late, or will cause appt to run over. But the way she operated it was in the plan for me to check progress. I loved the cut and she made me comfortable so if I wanted any changes I would feel ok requesting them. But she did great, so it wasn't necessary. Very very pleased with the cut (I have been salon hopping for 4 yrs trying to find the right stylist to do my bob) I found her :) read more

I went to Salon de Joi based only on reviews I had read. I received a bad color job at another local salon and was desperate for someone to fix it. I figured I'd get my color evened out and see what I thought about the place. I now am a regular client of Joi's because not only did she give me the color I wanted the first time, she also gave me a beautiful cut and style. This is now "My Salon"! The entire staff is so nice and friendly, and it's just a really comfortable place. Highly recommend Salon de Joi! read more

This is the 2nd salon I have been to since being in VA. I wan't 100% pleased with my first experience at Posh Salon in Williamsburg, but Salon de Joi was great! My appointment was with Joi and she was amazing! She took her time to get to know me and made sure that I was comfortable with everything she did. Not only did she do a much better job than my "master stylist" at the other salon, but her prices were much more reasonable as well! I will definitely go back again. read more

Maruquel did a beautiful job with my hair. I was new to Salon de Joi, and I always get nervous about finding a new hair stylist, but Maruquel listened and took time to make sure she was styling my hair in a way that I was satisfied with. The staff at Salon de Joi are very friendly, and they all seem to know and care about their clients, and their clients seem to care about the staff. That detail was something I quickly picked up on. If I am back in HR and need a hair cut, I will be sure to visit Salon de Joi again. read more

Salon de Joi is a very friendly and inviting place to have your hair done. Joi listens intently to her clients and, with her professional expertise, makes sure they get the hair style and color they request and best suits them. I got my haircut here and both Vanessa and Joi were amazing. My 10yr old got her haircut and styled, very reasonable price, and she looked amazing, even though she could barely sit still. Will definitely be recommending to friends. Atmosphere was upscale, but not pretentious, super clean and no annoying smell like chain haircut places. read more

Joi was absolutely great, not to mention accommodating; I sent her an email at about 8am on the day I was hoping to schedule a last-minute appointment, and she was able to get me in by 3pm. I asked for a haircut and, time permitting, the keratin smoothing treatment, and she was able to do both. I showed her a photo of the long bob style I had in mind, and she went right to work. The cost of the keratin smoothing treatment, haircut, and style was approximately $170. Considering that the keratin treatment alone often runs anywhere from $250 to $450, I was pleasantly surprised at the total cost. Joi also sent me home with with a bottle of keratin treatment spray, which should last for a while because it's intended to be used sparingly. I can't say how long the keratin treatment will last because I only had it done yesterday, but all in all, I was very pleased by my experience at Salon de Joi. read more
