I've only been here once, but am definitely going back…read more My last hairstylist at a place in City Center THAT SHALL NOT BE NAMED drastically messed up my color when I asked for rose gold, forcing me to box dye my hair twice in less than 24 hours. So, needless to say, when I sat in Jensen's chair a couple months later, my hair was a nasty, snarled mess. Jensen was THE SWEETEST! First, she knows how to cut fine hair. My style is so cute. She helped restore health to my hair and gave me tips on how to maintain that health. We then discussed how we should proceed in my color journey going forward. She also asked me questions about myself, and it felt super genuine and conversational, not forced at all. My last girl had a fake vibe about her, but Jensen was super complimentary and even gave me a hug goodbye! The place is super cute inside. Light, airy, and modern. When you pull up outside, you can tell it's an old 7-11, but don't let that fool you. It's a little on the pricier side, even for a jr. stylist, but you're paying for GOOD quality and GREAT customer service. I am refraining from giving 5 stars because I have only gone once and am excited to see what they do with my color in the future.

I have no idea where to start. I came to see Brittany for hair extensions... something I have…read morewanted for years because my natural hair is so thin. First off, I was over charged for the hair. The website of the hair Brittany uses has much cheaper prices than what I paid for the hair. Second, after only two weeks of having my hair extensions in, the color stripped out of them and they turned a horrible blonde color (I'm a brunette). While Brittany did put toner in them for me free of charge, the same thing happened again two weeks later. One can only assume something is wrong with the quality of the hair I just dropped $400 on. It's important to note that I also used all of the recommended products throughout this process . Anyway, after the extensions faded the second time, I was told there was nothing more they could do for me and I would have to purchase all new hair and start over. Let me also add that Brittany charges $325 per hour for for installation, so "starting over" would be another $700 investment. This is when I decided to go to a different salon for a second opinion. And this is where things get interesting. The new salon I went to was willing to work with the hair that I already had so that I didn't need to buy new hair right away. And the new salon I'm going to only charges **$80** per row of hair for installation. I had two rows, so $160 was still a great price compared to Brittany. When I went to my new salon to have my extensions moved up, I was HORRIFIED at what they discovered. Brittany had installed my extensions SO TIGHTLY that it literally ripped my hair out of my scalp. I could not believe the amount of my hair falling to the ground as they combed through it. I lost at least half of my natural hair due to Brittany's careless installation. I literally sat in my chair at the new salon sobbing at the sight before me. My hair... just gone. I put my trust into Brittany to help me with something that made me insecure to begin with and now I'm left worse off than where I started. Something that was always my dream so quickly has become my worst nightmare. Oh, and it's important to add that I was seeing these little white hair follicles all along, but I thought it was part of the extensions themselves. It wasn't until today that I learned it was my natural hair follicles that had been yanked out of my scalp. Which means that when I went to Brittany to have to her put toner in the hair the first time, she also saw these follicles and neglected to do or say anything about them. Careless, negligent, money-oriented. That's all I have to say. If you're in the market for hair extensions, avoid Brittany at all costs. You're getting overcharged for careless service, and there are MUCH better salons in Coastal Virginia that actually care about YOU and not your money. I am so horrified at my experience and the physical damages done to my scalp/hair that I will pursue legal action.

I travel to Newport News from Virginia Beach because of the professionalism and cleanliness of this office. The office is VERY clean and well taken care of. Olivia provided sunglasses for me to wear during the treatment on my face, which I appreciated, and she emphasized that the lens were a bit blurry to see through because of the cleaning solution to sanitize them which is fine by me. Before my first treatment, she explained in the free 15 minute consultation what electrolysis is, how it works, before and after care, and asked if I had any questions. She also asked about medications during the consultation to make sure that nothing I'm taking would interfere with treatment or make my skin more sensitive. I love that she also didn't assume I was doing a treatment right after the consultation and didn't put any pressure on me to do a treatment immediately following the consultation, but I wanted to and she did an amazing job treating my face. I'm looking forward to continuing treatments with Olivia and will definitely recommend Simply Flawless Electrolysis to anyone who is interested in hair removal.

Lisa Hanning's Service / In response to Olivia's Message,…read more Thank you for your message. While I was saddened by the cancellation of my appointment, what troubled me was learning that it was said I had left "angry" and "did not wish to return." This characterization could not be further from the truth, and I was disheartened to know that no effort was made to hear my perspective. When I did not hear back from Lisa after the cancellation, I reached out by text to ask about arranging a make-up appointment. She immediately called me, and I was taken aback to learn that a brief interaction, less than ten seconds long, with someone in the same building had been misconstrued in a way that left me feeling unfairly judged and unjustly characterized. I was surprised to find myself dismissed as a client without discussion, and only after I made contact. Even when I expressed a small disappointment by saying, "I was really looking forward to this," it was not with anger or rudeness, but with the natural dismay one feels when expectations are unmet. What pains me most, however, is the sense that prejudgment and perhaps even unkind words have been spoken of me to others in the profession. Whether through assumption or deliberate misstatement, I believe this compromised not only my experience as a client, but also my ability to seek services elsewhere without undue bias. Confidentiality and fairness are cornerstones of professional trust, and I had hoped those principles would have been upheld. I now know for certain that this was the case here and at another business. At least with Vivian of Advanced Electrolysis. I say this because I want other clients to be aware of blackballing and to be mindful of connecting. I do hope that Lisa has made a safe and steady recovery, and I would never wish ill on anyone in such circumstances. Yet I must also be candid: my experience left me feeling neither valued as a client nor respected as an individual. This is a first for me in dealings with a business, and it saddens me to my core.
