I would NOT recommend unique refinishers. I have never dealt with a company that makes so many excuses. I called them in October to tell them that my tub they did last October wasn't looking very good. It was chipping and rough to the touch. They told me I needed the original invoice number and date of service. I told them I could not find it. I asked if they did not have their customers in the system. She said no,invoice numbers only. Really? We filled out a form that they requested and sent to them. They were not willing to help me out at all. Always told me they would call back, but until just recently then they sent a new bill for $400 to fix their job that was bad. The technician who completed our upstairs bathroom was very professional and courteous. I may not use this process in a bathroom that gets heavy usage, but to update an upstairs, or guest bath, it looks great and has held up well for the few months since the job was done. The instructions clearly say what cleaners to use and how to treat the new surface. I expect this to last for many years if we pay attention to their instructions. I recently purchased a few investment properties to flip here in the Atlanta market. At one house, the bathrooms were dated with multicolor tile and bathtubs with chips and rust stains. They were professional, considerate of my time with a 30 minute call to meet & the bathrooms look like new in my color of choice. Unique Refinishers did a great job reglazing my tub. To perk up my old bathroom tile, I also had a tile tune-up and new caulking done. For about two weeks, my bathroom looked brand new. However, the grout and new caulk quickly became moldy and discolored despite diligently using their provided cleaner. When I contacted the company to address the problem, I was told it was my fault for closing the shower curtain and then insulted in a follow-up e-mail. I've read other negative reviews and expect someone from the company will dismiss my comments as misinformed or unreasonable. In fact, I was very happy with my service and results until now. The company needs to work on its customer service, its commitment to customer satisfaction and its attitude toward problems with its work. read more

I am very disappointed in my current experience with this company. Aprox. 16 years ago I had a bathtub in my home refinished. It looked great and held up wonderfully. Then last year it began to show signs of wear and rust. Again I called on Unique Refinishers. They sent out a tech and he worked on the tub supposedly getting rid of the rust and resurfacing and adding a non slip coating to the bottom for added protection. Then less than one year after this was done there is rust coming through again. I called the company.. Was asked to fill out a form and they would send out a tech to verify. The guy came he agreed the rust was again coming through the finish. I never heard back from them. I just called them to follow up. They claim to have sent me an email regarding their options. I didn't receive this email. Basically they don't cover "rust" even if it shows back up in less than a year. So their only options are for me to again pay them the same amount I had paid less than a year ago to do it all over again. I am VERY disappointed in this company today and the quality of the work they did last year. The first time the work was quality. Quality is not a part of this company any longer. Apparently neither is customer satisfaction or keeping returning customers. read more

I have never before dealt with office staff so RUDE and unprofessional. At NO time during the conversations and emails setting up the appointment was I told that if the job COULD NOT be done that I would be charged a cancellation fee?! ARE you SERIOUS? Once the very polite, professional service man looked at the job and explained the situation. IT was determined that even if he did the job it would not solve the problem he came to fix. THEN I WAS VERY AGRESSIVELY and loudly told over the phone ( with a loud man's voice in the background cursing at me) that the notice if the cancellation was on the back of the invoice. what invoice ?NOTHING WAS DONE!! I had not been given an invoice, only a estimate was emailed and NOTHING about if work cannot be done you will be charge cancellation fee was on the estimate!!!!!!!. AT NO TIME was this written, spoken or even suggested that there was a cancellation FEE involved. I am very pleased with the job Unique Refinishers did in my home with my two bathtubs. The one tub, a garden tub, had a crack in the bottom. They were able to replace the bottom and refinish the tub to look like a brand new tub. This saved me thousands of dollars. The technician came back the day after each installation and did little touch ups along with caulking the tubs. They look fresh and new. My 10 year-old son could have done better work than Unique Refinishers. I leave the crew in my home while my wife and I go to work and they are gone before we get home at 4. They leave the area all taped up with trash all over the floor. I call the company to ask when they would come back to finish up and I am scolded for even asking. I learned why the tape was left. The walls looked like a dalmation with spots all over from where the crew did a poor job taping the walls. I call to ask the company how they would like to fix this and they point out in their contract that it is expected to get paint on walls and floors from the overspray and there was nothing they could do. I disagree and state this is poor work and it should be fixed. The lady then YELLS at me and tells me to deal with it. Not to mention the fact that the spray job they did on my tub is terrible. Several spots fade from where it was not coated evenly. At this point, I didnt see a point in even mentioning it at nothing constructive comes from arguement.
