Campaign Paintball & Laser Park - London Office - Tactics being discussed..

Campaign Paintball & Laser Park - London Office

Battersea, Clapham

As a head teacher I went to Campaign to inspect on the recommendation of another school for an end…read moreof term activity. I have little experience of what to look for at a Paintball site apart from Health and Safety and whether the punters were enjoying themselves. On arrival I was greeted by two staff with a friendly wave and taken to meet the owners. Fortunately, there were several schools arriving as well as groups of adults. It appears Campaign has been owned by the same guys for over 20 yearsthe site is vast and what I saw totally reassured me. Interestingly, the first school to be briefed was a school that I knew really well having worked there many years ago so I was able to speak to the pupils and teachers as the morning went on. They liked the equipment, the variety of themed areas and the banter of the marshals. Some games were extremely tactical and serious stuff. It was obvious the adrenalin was flowing and every pupil I spoke to was fully engaged and loving it. Lunch was also provided in the price. Most groups I spoke to had been before, and this backed up what the owners said about repeat business and making the experience bespoke for 'their customers'. In conclusion a well run operation, clear instructions, heavy focus on safety (I was given a briefing and had to wear the goggles, protective gear on the range even at lunchtime) and what seems like new equipment. I intend to take a large group of dads (and daughters) to Campaign very soon.

Excellent place for a day out…read more I have been to Campaign three times now. I had such a blast on my 21st birthday many moons ago that I arranged an outing for work. Last saturday I dutifully arranged my best mate Jon's stag party. Really pleased to say we weren't let down by Campaign.. These guys certainly take a lot of care in what they do and I can't praise them highly enough. Thanks again.

Laserquest is a place where you go to play games with laser guns. You get to run about and shoot…read moreyour mates. My son likes going there. It is a good idea for a place to go if you are organising a birthday party for a boy of about 8 - 16 years old. They have only recently moved to West Swindon. They used to be in the town centre of Swindon, but are now situated on the Shaw Ridge Leisure Park, which is about a mile from Junction 16 of the M4 Motorway, so it is easy to get to if you are coming from out of town. There is also an internet cafe / gaming type place on the same premises. This is called Wired In. There is plenty of free car parking at Shaw Ridge Leisure Park.

For those who donot know what the game of laser quest is about, in a nutshell, its a form of tag between 2 or more teams. Teams are provided with laser guns which when fired projects a laser beam towards the target and when shot at, your laser gun is deactivated for a few seconds. Points are awarded when one team manages to shoot at the opposing team with points being deducted everytime a member of one's team is shot at. At the end of the game, The team with the highest points wins. There are a variety of fun games available that normally last about 20minutes. At the moment there is a number of post launch offers which is one to take advantage of if you are seeking a good energetic fun time out in swindon. Really good fun for both kids and adults alike for birthday parties or even as team building activities. Laserquest is completely safe, players are kitted up in safe apparels and provided with safety briefing prior to starting the games. They advise you to normally wear flat or comfortable shoes with a sole that grips so you are not falling over once the game commences. worth visiting if you are looking for something different, fun and energetic!

Came from London to play some Laser Tag because it was so much cheaper than any where in London…read more(less than £10 for two 20minute games!). The arena was awesome, spacious and no frills laser tag gaming. Set inside an arcade with bowling, pool and junk food stalls. No illusions about this place, it's full of screaming kids on a weekend but the laser tag was monumentally ace. Well worth the trip if there is a big group of you wanting to save a bit of cash.

Our son is just getting to the point where the indoor soft-play thing is becoming interesting, so…read morewe were keen when we were invited to a friends' second birthday party here at the Big Apple. Our time was only spent in the indoor soft play area, so if you're looking for a review of the lazer tag, bowling, or game arcade, you'll have to wait for some other Yelper to get to the Big Apple. In general, the play area was fun, for him, but there were a number of items that I found less than ideal. 1. Heat! It was so damned hot in the play area, we were all sweating. Now this was a party with 18 families, so it appeared it was nowhere near it's capacity, but still, everyone, without exception, complained about the lack of ventilation. 2. Disrepair. Mostly, things were in pretty good shape, but a number of things were kind of jerry-rigged with zip ties and duct tape. No single thing caused me great concern, but the sheer quantity of places where I saw these things made me wonder if a little more rigorous maintenance wasn't in order. I'm sure the wear and tear on such play things is massive, but for the amount they charge, I expected more quality to be honest. 3. Non-slidey slides. The biggest coolest-looking slide was, in fact, a dud! There's a slide that goes from the upper level of the play area down to the bottom where the parents were generally hanging out. This makes a total descent of some 4-5 meters. How cool is that??? Not much, it turns out. Kids were constantly having to scoot themselves down. One lucky parent was wearing the right fabric to make her slide down well, but everyone else was forced to self-propel. 4. I don't mark down for this, but the food served to the kiddies was the usual breaded-fried-potato-waste-on-a-stick. De regueur for such party places, they won no stars in our book because none of it met our child's dietary requirements (gluten-free). We never expect this, though, and always bring our own. My wife and I found ourselves the inevitable schadenfreude when we realized that our child's meal was way healthier than any of the other children! Looking at the heat, and the disrepair, I can't imagine a full-capacity weekend, where there are wall-to-wall kids.

This place finally gave me a reason to dust off my paintball marker (it's not a gun, it's a marker)…read morethat I had so lovingly shipped over from the states. The first thing that impressed me about Campaign was how easy it was to get to. From SW6 it was a 25 minute train ride to Effingham and then a 5 minute walk to the range. Easy. The range itself is fantastically well laid out. They've split a large section of forest into about 8 different themed courses with the central area decked out with covered seating areas, a shop, info booths etc. Very professional. The day is also very well structured and organized. People are put in teams and demarcated with colored tape. You play 8 games in a round-robin format and they've planned the day just right so you have enough time between games to rest up, have a drink, etc. The staff, for the most part, were knowledgeable, enthusiastic and a lot of fun. One or two were a bit too.cool for school. But all in all, they did a great job of running the games. One other thing to note is they split the kids and adults up so you don't need to worry about little Timmy getting roughed up by a bunch of lads on their stag do. Now I have to confess, I almost gave this place 3 stars based on one thing - the price. Sure it's 13 quid for all day paintball including equipment rental and a burger but the paint is absolutely ridiculously priced. You'll need to spend another 35 quid on paint to have a good day so expect to spend around 50 quid for a full day. You can't bring your own paint either so there's really no way around it. Given the number of people there, they must be making a killing. Despite that, I'll be going back. It's conveniently located, well run and a lot of fun.

The marshalls and the staff were great and we were really looked after (and they sorted the naughty kids out!) There is a very strong focus on safety although I was a bit scared to hear that shots anywhere on the body (including head) were considered ok! I would recommend the body armour, I got shot in the back and it didn't hurt atall. My husband who didn't have the armour on and got shot the same has a nice big bruise to show for it! The maps were really great, especially Dodge City which was our favourite. We all had a really fun time and we would definitely like to go again. We used about 850 paintballs each so it wasn't cheap and we could have used more as we ran out in the last game which was hugely disappointing. But if you're not trigger happy like we were you can get away with less. I would recommend campaign, it was a really fun day out and one we shall be repeating soon i'm sure!
