Maria made the lessons great fun and was also a patient but precise teacher. There was focus on movement and hitting the ball as well as using the right grip, and serving practice, with mini games/exercises with each other to carry out what had just been taught. It was an ideal way to improve one's tennis.

I took a 5-week intro class at the Southwark location. For £125, I thought it was great value. Each…read moresession is about 2.5 hours. I really liked my instructor, and I'm kicking myself now that I CAN'T remember his name (I swear this is a reflection on me, because I am AWFUL with names). The classes are very fun and the hours zoom by. If you're a bit competitive like me though, sometimes you forget that everyone is there to learn and have fun ;) Anyway, we were divided into two groups that generally stayed together for the entire duration of lessons. For the earlier sessions there is a lot of emphasis on safety and practicing technique, but for the later sessions you can expect to be shooting for the majority of the time on the floor. There's naturally a bit of standing around because you have to take turns with the target board, but I actually enjoy that with team sports because you get to know your teammates. My fellow coursemates were lovely, and we all got on well enough that we planned to join the club together and shoot more in the future. You have to attend pretty much every class to get the intro certification in order to join the club. That seems fair though -- when people are shooting pointy things at high speeds, you want to make sure that everyone knows what they're doing, at some basic level at least! I haven't been to the London Bridge range yet but one of these days, I will get my butt down there...

My name is Yee Gan and I'm a Strictly Come Dancing addict. My problem started with series 1 when…read morethe elegance, the sway, the music, the fun captured me. I've been a fan ever since and I even went to the Strictly Come Dancing roadshow at the O2 in February. So I'm not sure why it has taken me so long to try dancing. I loved Matt & Flavia's salsa last year and when a friend suggested going to salsa, I jumped at the chance. Salsateca runs classes and a club at Bourne Hall every Friday evening. The evening starts at 8pm and costs £8 if you come for the lesson and £3 if you only come for the club (which follows the lesson) which starts around 9.15-9.30 and carries on until 11pm. There are dancers of all ages and abilities and you will never feel left out whatever standard you are. You're made to feel very welcome and the teachers really break things down well and clearly. There is an initial warmup when you follow the teachers' steps as they lead on the stage. Then, you break up into 4 or 5 groups - it's up to you which group you join but you can ask your teacher if they think you're ready to go up a class. All the classes run in the same big room and throughout the lessons, there are frequent periods of music, which allow you to try the steps you've learnt to music. It's really sociable and you rotate partners so you get to practise with different people. I've only done 3 weeks so far and I'm really learning and progressing with little tips like stepping off on the balls of your feet to help get the leg action going. From the first week though, I already felt I could do enough to enjoy salsa. After about an hour, it's time for warmdown when you again try to follow the teachers who lead on the stage. Well, this time, they complicate things and it's a real laugh to try and keep up. Then, the club starts and it's time to practise all you've learnt. What I like about the club atmosphere is that everyone seems to be prepared to dance with everyone else - the better dancers seem to be happy to dance with beginners, which gives us a chance to improve. There's a bar, which is reasonably priced and there's a free chilled water machine upstairs in the main foyer I keep practising just in case I ever become a celebrity and get invited onto the show!! 1 2 3 5 6 7 1 2 3 5 6 7 Addendum Feb 2012 I'm involved in the music ministry in church and have decided not to dance salsa any more as it's not appropriate for someone in my position in church.

The waiting area is nice and airy, with lockers for your possessions, a plethora of bean bags to lounge on, free coffee and tea, and a large selection of magazines and comic books! So if you're early or waiting for friends, you definitely won't be bored. We were first introduced to the different kinds of bows available to train on, how they work, and what they're used for. We would all be practicing on the recurve bow to begin with. We were outfitted with arm guards and had our arms measured to have the correct bow and arrows assigned. The lovely Kristina led our session, finding the perfect bow for each of us, leading a short warm-up, and of course showing us techniques and tricks so we'd hit the target! Not every shot was a hit, but we all had a tremendous amount of fun trying to learn to aim, we even got to try popping balloons that were attached to the targets and super satisfying to shoot! The tasting session at Archery Fit was an incredible amount of fun and a brilliant group or corporate activity for small and large groups. I absolutely recommend booking yourself in if you'd like to try your hand at archery, or go for a full beginners course of six 90 minute lessons!
