Never consistent, techs are not helpful with naming the past color you have on, which led the tech trying to choose a color for me and I told him no that's not it more than once. Came in for a full set and pedi. Both nail techs were extremely slow. They began working on my nails at the same time taking 2 hour and 10min to finish (no design). Tammy filed my nails too deep to the point were my nails became sensitive. I can't recall how many times I heard her say sorry to me, towards the end she couldn't even apologize for continuing to hurt me. Finally when she finished I noticed all my fingers were covered in color powder. She couldn't remove it, so she sent me home with stained fingers. Tammy was a harsh, messy and extremely slow worker. Came here off the recommendation of a friend and I must say I was very pleased. I recently moved to Houston and was in search of a new nail salon and was told about Unique Nails. I paid 75 for a refill a REFILL. The full set was originally 80 and to refill and pay that price was ridiculous not only was the yellow showing from the previous full set I had to paint over it. They charged me extra due to two nails being broke and due to length. The nails aren't even that long and they made my two pinky nails so short. I love Tony. I really do. He is as mentioned below "one of them IG nail techs" but he does know how to have his clients nails on FLEEK so I get why there is always a wait for him. I just WISH he would handle his appointments and books accordingly. I've gone to Unique Nails three times now and had three different experiences. All ended with AMAZING nails but is it worth it ... you be the judge. The first time I went I called Tony specifically and asked for his latest appointment that he had bc I knew my birthday was coming up and I wanted some extra nails. I knew it was gonna take a while so I want to be the last one in plus I work so any appointment before a certain time just was not feasible. When I got there I arrived five minutes before the appointment prior to me who did not come (on time or was pushed back due to him working on another client) and that person was extremely upset the entire 2.5 hours that it took him to do my nails.She did wait until I was done and so I will say Tony will stay longer even after the shop is close to service clients but that was strike one for me. The second time I went similar situation except I turned into the girl that sat and waited for me during my first visit. I called him three days prior to set again the latest appointment to ensure that I can get my nails done for a trip and when I got there he still had a client that he was working on two seconds later another client walked in and he proceeded to help that client first saying that she also had an appointment for the same time that I did I had to wait two hours for him to service me the nails came out good but that was strike two. Again I called today to set an appointment for the latest time possible if you don't catch the theme and he set my appointment for 6 PM he called me about two hours later saying that they might close early because of the incoming storm although the storm is not set to hit the Houston area and asked me to move my appointment up four hours. I mentioned that I am a working person I cannot just stop work to come in and get my nails done but because I have a vacation tomorrow I did just that and when I got there he again was unavailable they started my pedicure and he asked if the other nail tech that sits next to him (his name is Vincent) can do my nails. I was reluctant because I only know Tony and I only know his work but sitting next to Vincent's During previous appointments I did see his work and trusted his ability so I did let him do my nails as well. Vincent did an amazing job and he is also an IG nail tech and his work reflects that so no regrets but that was strike three. I posted some pictures of their work In the picture section. Again it's always impeccable but their service.... I MAY return and JUST go to Vincent from now on just because he seems to have more availability and the same level of talent I just wish they would hire someone to keep their appointments. They are in my opinion strong enough to be appointment only and still survive but it's not my business. I would recommend them just be cautious and open to spending some time there. If you go here your nails will be perfect (full sets idk about natural nails I'm grown LOL) no lifting no breaking gems stay on. Just prepared to wait read more

I really wanted to like this place but I just wasn't a fan. The first time I went for gel. I'm used to getting them done but the guy cut my cuticles a bit too much, causing me to bleed in one spot. The color was also a little patchy for my taste with some areas being much darker than others (and some getting on my skin). Maybe that's the gel's fault because my nails are tiny but I just didn't like the look. The lady sitting next to me was getting dip nails and so I decided two weeks later to come back (second chance) and try the dip nails. The lady who did my nails was very friendly but the end result was not the best. The color was built up a lot and ended up being really bulky on my nails. At one point I showed the lady a spot on the side that was uneven. She said she didn't see it being uneven. She proceeded to sand down that area a little bit but it was still uneven. I knew it would bother me later but I just said thank you (And I did end up constantly messing with that spot when I was stressed). I remember reading that dip nails are supposed to look and feel natural but you could tell that the nails were too bulky to be natural. I thought that maybe that was just the way it was with dip nails. However, I tried another salon and the feeling of the dip nails is soo much better and they do actually look natural. Again, I really wanted to like this place. The workers are all very friendly. It just didn't work out for me. read more
