Unique Fashions & Fabrics has a good selection of fabrics. Some upper end silks are good to investigate but also many other fabrics that lend to costuming creations for dance. Some Lycra stretch fabric, which I am often in search of, can be found. This store is owned and run by an immigrant East Indian family who I have found to be very helpful. When buying in larger quantities they are willing work out better pricing too. In regard to one comment on this site about store closure, it is often a Tuesday that a Hindu family takes off. We came here yesterday and it is the WORST Customer Service I have ever experienced. My Wedding is in one week, and my Mom wanted a Blouse tailored. She was measured, and requested that it be longer and not too tight. When we came to try it on, it was extremely tight and the measurements were way off. She kept telling us she sized it 16 inches, but when she put the measuring tape over, it was less then 15 inches. The Owner refused to give any Credits, or refunds, and was very hostile and demanding. I've worked for the Government, and noticed a few protocols were not being followed, and I am in contact with the Better Business Bureau. It turns out this isn't the first time this store has been brought up, so we can file a Report. All we wanted was a refund, this whole experience left me no choice but to file an official complaint. read more

Unfortunately I would not recommend shopping here. I bought a saree and asked to have a blouse made. I was measured by the owner and was advised that she would be making it. I specifically asked for it to be longer and did not want my stomach to show very much. I also requested that it not be made tight. I went in to pick up about a week later and was told that the tailor would be bringing it in on Saturday. I returned on Sunday. This blouse was tight and was very short. The owner insisted that it was 16 inches. It wasn't, it was 15 inches and I required at least 17 to 18 inches. She (the owner) was continually insisting that the blouse was fine even though the buttons were spreading and tight everywhere. I am at a loss as to what was measured as I do not have a copy. She insisted she could fix it but there was no blouse pieces left and to add something else takes away from the integrity of the blouse. I am extremely disappointed that it was their mistake and I was blamed for it. It is very unprofessional to blame the customer for a mistake that was clearly made by them. She would not return the saree or blouse piece. I offered to just give the blouse back and have saree refunded. No refunds or exchanges. No exceptions. She told me that the only reason I was doing this was that she overheard my daughter and I discussing that we had similar colours and this is the reason for my return. It does not matter that she offered to fix it. There was no material left and why does a customer have to pay for something upfront when it was done incorrectly. Thouroughly disappointed. Arrogant and argumentative owner refusing to acknowledge her error. Would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

Wow, these guys have a good selection of fabrics. There were tons of different things to choose from in every colour of the rainbow. This is an Indian fashion store, so they also sell outfits and the kinds of trims you'd see on saris & whatnot- so if you're looking for things like lace, this may not be the place for you, but otherwise I'd recommend checking it out. read more

Horrible customer service from the owner. He was rude and dismissive the entire time, trying to push a sale onto us. When we told him that we would think about it he just left us and ignored our "Thank you". The selection of clothing and jewelry is not great here either, I would avoid this place at all costs. read more

Worst customer service imaginable. Paid hundreds for a "custom" mens wedding suit for the groom - ended up getting a completley plain cloth suit with no designs that looks like they just ordered it online for 50 bucks and lazily stiched on some patterns. Very insulting to customers when confronted about the low quality of the item with a "we know better than you" attitude. Called a "liar" and a "bad customer from the start" No refund given, they just want your money for nothing. Garbage messy store low quality trash, horrible customer service , BUYER BEWARE avoid this place at all costs. read more
