The only positive aspect of this place is that it is CLEAN. They can take thrift store of the front of their facility. $15 bucks for an old dress...I'll pass. Pots starting at 8.99. I can go into a regular store and literally pay the same for something NEW. read more

Back to being a fan again! The prices are still a bit higher than the Village Thrift Stores, but not as crazy as they were for while. If you have patience you can find some great items, especially for kids. Parking is a bit chaotic in the lot on sale days so I suggest street parking. read more

I am a faithful shopper of this Unique and I have to say that most experiences are good ones. I have noticed that the prices are a little higher than most stores but the store is always clean when I go and to not have to sort through every rack for my size is a huge plus! I've never had a problem with the customer service. They always seem helpful and friendly. The only complaint I have is with other shoppers and their unruly children. But if you were an 8 yr. old how much fun could you have at a thrift shop. I have always found great deals especially for fabric. I found about 8 yards of fabric that costs about $80.00 retail for $3.99. Another find was a sheet set for full size bed. It was organic cotton brand new for $5.00. Retailed for over $60.00. They are one of the most organized thrift stores out there. They do take credit cards and always ask for ID. (Another bonus) read more

I was impressed with this place. Wanted to pick up a few things for the warmer weather but didn't want to spend a lot of money. Place is clean, well organized and has a good smell unlike most Thrift Stores that unfortunately have that used clothes smell. They also have books, appliances, decorative items, good selection of jeans and not a bad selection of clothes. Most everything I bought was less then $5.00 each, clothes were clean and did not smell. Also, on Mondays everything is half off. Definitely will be back on Mondays. read more

I've been going to Unique Thrift (This location only) for a while and I really find little to complain about. I have found some amazing clothes here for dirt cheap-like real cashmere for $5.99. My closet has slowly, but surely been updated from my Goodwill finds to my Unique Thrift finds. I've seen Vera Wang, Banana Republic, Lucky, Juicy, and Ann Loft here. The most common are Ralph Lauren, Banana Republic and Ann Loft for sure. It seems that the Forever 21, Target, and Old Navy clothes are always priced $2-3 dollars more than the "Banana Republic" stuff. Whoever is doing their pricing, thanks for not doing your research. I love to come here early, it is awful in the mid afternoon or closer to closing, plus the best clothes are always available right after opening. Service here is sub-par, expect to not find anyone and wait in long lines and for whatever reason it's always really warm in there....and here's a tip they ALWAYS check your ID when paying with card. read more

Big, dingy, faintly smelly. Lots of stuff, but I just can't deal with a long rack full of outdated jeans that haven't been even roughly sorted by size-- maybe once upon a time, but these days I don't have the patience or the time. Did get some cheap books, but again, no organization at all and mostly trashy paperbacks. read more

I always find lots of deals with a huge selection. However, some of the cashiers....well, one in particular always looks annoyed by the customer. She asks you to enter your pin or sign with suck blah I her request. She never says hello, thank you or have a good day. read more

Really good place to find adult diapers. You have to get there early on Monday morning to get the best selection at half the price. You can pay $2.50 for a pack of 25 diapers or go to Family Dollar and pay $12 a pack. Definitely a good thrift store. read more

Would give this place zero stars if I could. I enjoy thrift shopping and often find really good pieces here but I will say that on numerous occasions, the cashiers have stopped me from purchasing items claiming that the tag was changed or the tag was loose. Complete bullshit. It has happened on more than one occasion with nice clothing pieces that I'm sure the cashiers liked for themselves. I will not be returning here. read more

Very overpriced. Go somewhere else. Tried exchanging items several times with a receipt and within the 7 days they give you to return items. The female manager is rude, unprofessional and fill find every excuse in the book not to let you exchange items. She has a terrible attitude, is horrible with customer service and takes pleasure in angering the customers. Will not return there. read more

This place has the worst business ethics. While shopping, an announcement was made over the PA that everything was 50% off. A cashier confirmed it was 50% off, however she spoke poor English and rang up the purchase at full price. When we told her we didn't want the item if it wasn't reduced, she threatened to call the police. The manager got involved and got even more beligerant. To top off a completely unbelieveable incident they gave us two counterfiet $5 bills as our change. Avoid them. I only give 1 star because 0 isn't available. read more

probably one of the cleaner thrifts i've been to in chicago. very well organized, clean, no extremely overpowering odor (keep in mind there is still a faint odor, but not overpowering). it's defintely hit and miss with this place since it's a smaller unique, but treasures can defintely be found there. still, i have the same gripe with most uniques, the prices are higher than other thrifts, but for the overall experience through cleanliness, curteous staff, and organisation, i don't mind spending a couple exta bucks. read more

Tons of clothes.. No dressing room!!! I had an armful of clothes before realizing this and had to put it all back.

They have some really nice clothes sometimes, but you really have to examine them. If you are buying a cashmere sweater, it's almost 75% likely it will have teeny tiny holes in the sleeves. This happened to me 3 times...Sometimes you can find brand new things, and that's cool. I would give them more stars but their prices are sometimes comparable to end of season store prices at a regular store. I think that's a bit high for a place that's gets their items donated...They do have to pay employees to sift and sort through everything though, so I'll have to think more on that point though. Another problem is that they won't let you use their restroom. Don't go there in the morning after you had some coffee along with your breakfast. They won't care if it's an emergency situation, since they are adamant there was an "incident," and there will be no exceptions, no matter how much you are buying. They close at 8 instead of 9 at this Unique except on half off Mondays. read more

Unless you shop Mondays, it's not worth it. I used to love this store, until they changed managers and it became more popular. Prices are extremely high and staff is rude. I found a pair of jeans of my brother, but it had no tag so I asked the price, the first thing the manager said was, what brand is it. It was a pair of Gap jeans, he told me it would be $19.99! I could go to an outlet and get brand new jeans for $19.99. They really look at brand names and hick up the prices. Like I said, Mondays, which are half price days, are the only days I would suggest going, but go early and don't expect to find parking in the lot unless you want to get boxed in. read more

I've been coming for the 1/2 price Mondays once a month for 3 years now. I just recently realized that on more than 4 occasions I have been OVERCHARGED for items. One store after dozens of phone calls (I don't live in Chicago) finally reimbursed me over $100 of it but, not the other two. BUYER BEWARE, CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE STORES. Also some of the rudest people ever work at these stores (need to take a course in customer service). read more
