I called/shopped around at Home Depot and a few other local stores and got a few estimates before finding this gem in Manassas. I called ahead of time and spoke with Mark, the owner, who agreed to keep the shop open a little later to accommodate the late time I was getting off work. The customer service and price were the main reasons I finally decided to go with #1 Carpet and Rug. Mark was very knowledgeable about the different types of flooring like carpeting or hardwood. He took the time and helped me choose between different sample options while staying within my budget. I didn't feel pressured (as I did with other places) into buying because he aided me in deciding what was best for my situation. I really appreciate that he took the time to explain the selection of padding and made it a point to order the carpet immediately. The process was very smooth. He came out to personally measure the areas I needed for carpet. The installers came on time, were very professional and friendly, and I am extremely happy with how my carpeting turned out. Mark checked on the progress during and called after the installation to ensure I was happy with the results. The transformation is gorgeous!!! I would definitely do business with them again and honestly recommend them to anyone who is in need of a quality flooring job.

Decided to stop in the showroom on a day off and met Alex who basically ignored me till the warehouse worker helped. He then gave me a quote for their "best" nylon carpet installed. I asked for a quote for a color they didn't have in stock and the price doubled. Then asked for a ballpark price for another tier of nylon carpet and the price was just made up out of thin air. It gets better, he says he can drop 1k off the first quote price. Then proceeded to get upset because I won't agree to a purchase / install on the spot. Will gladly go spend money else where other than this shady spot.. I'm sure he would have substituted the padding or something for else to make his profit. He fits right in with all the sketchy car dealerships around him.

Pricing came in around the other two quotes, and we ended up adding a second room to the job. The team was polite, efficient, and had great attention to detail. They even stained the shoe molding to the color of the floors, which was not expected on our end (the other quotes only offered to install them raw). They had a job go long on a Friday so they had to delay the start, but stayed later until the job was done the following day. Highly recommend.
