very bad service. the guys who installed our laundry machine didn't have a long enough hose so they taped two together without telling me. a year later we found out when a funny smell was coming from our laundry room, and I moved the laundry machine out of the way just to find out our Drywall was covered in mould because the hose had been leaking inside of the wall when I called them to ask them about it the owner was aggressive. Denied any responsibility and said they would not do anything to help me with it. Also, any repairs they've done have been extremely overpriced. I would highly recommend not using them. read more

Used to be our go to place. It has really gone down hill in recent years. Make you do a paid service call for EVERYTHING. Promises of warranties not honoured when the time comes for repair. Took the door off our brand new washer (from them) and when they put it back on it never closed properly. Latch broke within a year. Had to pay for that. Broke again in less than 2 years. Save yourself the hassle and buy from a place that guarantees their workmanship and their product. read more

Unionville Appliance is such an amazing find! We have never had a chest freezer before, but since I like to bake, and freeze food for convenience, it was time to purchase one. Due to the pandemic, I found out this was not an easy task. Chest freezers were on back order since March 2020, especially since I was looking for a specific brand. I was searching for a local appliance shop, and spoke to Anthony. There happened to be one freezer left, since a customer changed their mind! He confirmed the freezer was brand new, and the box was unopened, before I made the purchase over the phone. I am so glad I decided to buy locally, and support a family owned business. When we picked up the freezer, everyone was incredibly friendly and super helpful! The freezer is fantastic, especially when items are on sale, and we are not limited to one tub of ice cream now - LOL! Thanks so much for your kind assistance Anthony! read more

Unionville Appliance - Appliances Near Me - Markham, Ontario

Ordered the part on May 4th, 3 times it came broken, the last one was cracked in a half. When the part finally came, it was the wrong size and they declined to refund or exchange as their policy is no WARRANTY even when they order the wrong part. I gave them the stove part number and these guys still got it wrong, it's incredible the level of incompetence. I have pictures of the invoice and a series of phone calls to them, what a waste of time. Terrible customer service, complete lack of knowledge of product. 3 weeks later and it's still not resolved, police report being made and will have to go to court to have my refund. Go to any other store and avoid this one at all costs, you and your wallet will thank me. read more

I went into Unionville Appliance and told them them my exact dishwasher and the exact part I needed. i didn't want a service call if they didn't have the part. I was told they would probably be able to get the part. After an $83 service call I was told that actually they didn't have the part after all. i was offered a refund only if I bought a dishwasher from them. It felt dishonest to me. read more

They are great. Sal who help with me over the phone to the 2 gentlemen who did the delivery and installed my new washer and dryer did an awesome job. Highly recommend them. Kent R. Scarborough read more

Save yourself a big headache and just AVOID purchasing here. I purchased a refrigerator in early July and was told it will arrive by mid- August. At the end of August we still had not heard anything from the store so I called for an update. I was told it's been delayed until end of September because the manufacturer was having chip production issues so not in stock. My husband called at the beginning of October to see what was going on as we had no communication from the store. We were then told the tentative delivery date will now be sometime in February 2022! Are you kidding me!? At no point did Unionville Appliance call us to let us know of the multiple delays or offer us a solution. When we asked why no one called to let us know, the owner was very rude and said "We have hundreds of order. Are we supposed to call each one?" Ummm.. YES. You run a business. When you have the customer pay in FULL and there are numerous delays you need to let them know. We had to ask about alternative fridges ourselves and the only ones they offered was way more expensive and didn't even have the specs we wanted. Anyway, to add salt to the wound when we asked for a refund the owner said he was going to charge us a 15% restocking fee. How are you going to charge us a restocking fee for something you don't even have in stock!? Completely dishonest. We had to go through our credit card company to get our money back. HORRIBLE customer service and business ethics. read more

I used Unionville Appliance a few times when I needed parts for my fridge. They were very helpful and made sure I was ordering the right part. They are my go to for the water filters as well. Friendly service and they also sell appliances. They will be my first stop when I need a new appliance! read more

Those bums that you call technicians are the worst ever. Right off the bat the guy was pissed, didnt introduce himself or who he worked for. I shouldve sent those bums packing right from the door but I needed the fridge fixed. Well, that turned too shit as well. Checked the fridge, already suggested buying a new one just by scanning the temperature. Then proceeded to check the condenser, found the problem with the mice got stock on the condenser fan and bounced right away of course with pay. If that wasnt part of their job to remove the mouse, I wouldve have done it and it would only take 4mins then they could have stayed to see if that was the problem. They didnt, these bums were in a hurry. Rude, all in all shit show. Stay away from this company. read more

POOR SERVICE, POOR Skills and POOR Management and POOR Conflict resolution skills - JUST PLAIN RUDE. I called this company for the service on my washing machine. The very friendly tech improperly diagnosed the problem and told me that I need to replace the washing machine. My husband googled and believed that this wasn't the right solution. He called Unionville Appliances and spoke to the manager who told us "it is the bearings/spider assembly and you (customer) don't like to hear reality". Within days of them coming to our house, as the tech had predicted, the problem got worse. We called Samsung who recommended an authorized service company, who was sent out. I'm happy to say the problem was fixed NO THANKS TO Unionville Appliance. We called the owner who proceeded to hang up on us because he "didn't have time for this". He didn't even listen to us but asked us to send in our invoice from the other company which we did. His response is below: "According to the invoice, the parts that were replaced were a thermistor assembly and a wire guide. These parts have no impact on the play (balance/stability) of a washing machine drum. There is a charge on this invoice for parts that are not even specified by their manufacturer part #. Changing the sensor for a washing machine does not correct the issue with the bearing for the machine. Like I said, when a part is changed by the manufacturer, they provide a 90 day warranty on those parts and labour. Not 30 days. We will not be refunding the service call as that is the fee for a technician to be dispatched to the home in the Markham/Unionville area. This repair invoice presented to us has no correlation to the issue you initially reported with the machine, nor the technician's findings." Hmm looks like he is calling me a liar. Do you think I made up an invoice? All I know is that the problem Unionville Appliance diagnosed was obviously wrong and another company was able to fix my machine. Perhaps if you had taken the time to send someone else to our home when we called instead of assuming that your technician has made a correct diagnosis we wouldn't have had this problem. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR APPLIANCE SERVICE THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!!!! THEN I EVEN TRIED TO NOT ASK FOR A REFUND BUT FOR THEM TO GIVE THE REFUND TO CHARITY. THEY STILL REFUSED. WOW!!!! read more

Never buy products from this store. They will rip you off seriously. Especially if you ask them an advice, they will give you few choices that are the most expensive ones. they won't tell you the cheaper/economical option for customers. You can ask them questions but NEVER trust and rely on what they told you. Otherwise you may spend thousand dollar more than other store, keep in mind. read more

After trying to telephone other stores to buy a new washer, Unionville Appliance was the only place that would pick-up the phone! Great customer service and communication through-out the whole process - purchase, install etc. The 2 service guys, Damian and Rob, are the best you will ever find! Very friendly and knowledgable and quick to do the job. They went out of their way to accommodate my schedule and the mishap with the first washer that was D.O.A (as they said - lol). Highly recommend this company, now also open in Stouffville too! I will use their company again in the future! read more

Unionville Appliance is a true Markham local gem. It provides repairs services to major household appliance, and sells new scratches and dents appliance and reconditioned appliance. It has been in business in Markham for a long time. Though it has a retail store front, people usually know about it through referrals as it barely advertises. It does many business-to-business sales, and this is the way I hear about it. I needed to buy a dishwasher. I wanted something inexpensive with stainless steel surface, and a few small scratches or dents didn't matter to me. When I entered the store, I was immediately assisted by an employee then the owner, Sal. I was pleased there were many Bosch dishwashers on the floor, some costed as little as $600, but I needed something cheaper. Sal didn't look down on my tiny business and directed me to a new Frigidaire dishwasher that costed $399 with $50 in store credit. Naturally I searched and just could not see the "scratches and dents" that it was supposed to have. This model was normally MSRP at $549, which means I got it at 36% off. This discount was deeper than the normal 15% to 25% discount on the market. The store itself delivers for a fee but does not install. But they can arrange an electrician who runs an independent installation business to pick up and install the appliance. Sal arranged it for me right there before I closed the purchase. As Unionville Appliance sells scratches and dents appliance, the inventory varies weekly. Customers buy what are presented on the floor and examine the extent of imperfection personally. Sal is helpful in pointing the imperfections out and tried to find something customers need. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is that while certain scratch and dent appliance carry manufacturer warranty, some carry a limited/scaled down warranty because of the locations of the imperfections. If you want complete manufacturer warranty, you should ask specifically about the warranty coverage and limitation.. read more

My GE Profile 17 year old wall oven finally gave out on me and I had the daunting task of figuring out what wall oven I should buy. Even though my oven lasted me quite a number of years, I know that anything I buy now will not be that durable. I called several stores where I couldn't even get a person to talk to! There was either no answer or leave a message. I have to say that Unionville Appliance staff is ALWAYS on hand to answer a call quickly and efficiently! Within minutes I would get the answer I needed. I've had repairs done in the past by Neville and he has been friendly, courteous and well-knowledged. Vince Malandrino has been most helpful in helping me decide on a brand and I trust their opinions 100%. What I have realized through this ordeal is that good customer service is hard to find, but Unionville Appliance has proved otherwise! Thank you to all the staff for providing amazing customer service. I will continue to use them and would highly recommend them! read more

Exorbitant labour charge for what turned out to be wrongly diagnosed problem on washing machine. Over $100.00 LABOUR fee for a 12 minute visit - plus parts, plus initial diagnostic fee and washing machine still leaks! Owner, Sal was extremely loud, rude and aggressive and actually verbally abusive to me. read more

Buyer beware! Purchased a large appliance in June and still not delivered in October. Called them 6 times for information and each time they had a new excuse. When asked to cancel the order, they charge a 35% "restocking" fee which is not disclosed in the bill of sale. Buyer beware! read more

Service Person name Neville came to my house to look at the washing machine. After mentioning that it would be costly to repair the machine, he took the mid cap inside my machine. I am still not able to find where he put this and need this missing part back. I was still able to work around it and get the laundry washed before he came. Now I am missing the part to prevent more problems with the machine. read more

Not happy with the owner who hung up the telephone when I asked him if his labour price was negotiable. Sal was very rude. The field repairman came to see our dishwasher, told us we needed a part ("motor housing unit") that we actually did not need. The problem was diagnosed WRONGLY and STILL they billed me for the diagnostic visit. The problem was solved by tightening the float assembly without any expensive parts. Problem with charging for diagnostic fee ($79) is that often the diagnosis is wrong and the customer is left high and dry as in our case. read more

Their appliance replacement parts are over priced. The parts they sold me I paid approx. $90 and better quality parts cost approx $20. I did not find them to be more knowledgeable than a mediocre YouTube video. The advice they gave me did not even make sense. To me it seemed they were trying to point me in the wrong direction because they wanted me to hire them to repair my appliance. read more

I had a great experience with Unionville Appliance. Neville repaired my Whirlpool dryer, with an experienced assessment of the product function, electronics and parts. After testing the various components, he explained the problem, and replaced the part. Neville clearly explained the invoice charges, and also gave me some advice about my washing machine as well. My neighbour uses Unionville Appliance too -- a company I would use again for sure, for any repairs or parts. read more

When I first called about a fridge repair I found the person on the other end really helpful and seeing that I hadn't actually booked a time for a repair the person seemed genuinely interested in solving my problem without having to have called in a repair person. When it was determined I needed someone at my home they sent someone the very next day who quickly assessed the issues. A few hours later I was given my estimate and asked if I wanted to continue with the repair. They ordered in the part that was required and within 48 hours everything was up and running. The person that came into my home was extremely courteous and worked promptly in order to address my issues. Absolutely loved these guys and in a heartbeat would recommend them for appliance repairs. Thank you Unionville Appliance for making this experience extremely easy. read more

They should know their technicians' schedules. Called to make an appt to have a repairman come and check out replacing our spark igniter on our gas cooktop. They too my info and said the repairman will call me back. I called back 4HRS LATER as no one called. They then told me that the repairman does not work the weekends so will call on Monday. So far not impressed. read more

Just needed to share my fabulous experience with Unionville Appliances. I live in Stouffville and I called Randy's Appliances for some assistance with my JennAir built oven having some issues. Because my oven was almost 15 years old it seem to make sense to replace it and he told me he could not assist me but told me that Unionville appliances could help me start to finish. Just wanted to say they completely did do that. Vince, who I called on the phone, I never even went into the store, found me the perfect oven to replace my existing built in oven and within my price range. He took control with measurements and found the perfect built in oven. Then their fabulous installer Roy arrived and installed that oven with some minor adjustments - fits absolutely perfectly!!!! No fuss or muss for me. Old stove was removed and new one installed all within 2 hours start to finish. Fabulous experience and would definetly recommend, especially through all covid restrictions!!!!! Thank you read more

Had my gas stove serviced by them. Reasonable prices and great friendly service. I was shown what the problem was and was presented with a number of options. read more

We bought several Appliances from Unionville at the end of 2013, when we renovated our kitchen. Everything was supposed to be new, nothing refurbished. One oven has been serviced 3 times. When we used the other oven it had oven cleaner in it, clearly it had been refurbished, as there is no reason to clean a new oven. The biggest issue was the AirKing Exhaust vent which we paid over $1000 for. We noted that the fan was turning black around the light sockets; it took much trying and involvement from the manufacturer to get a new one installed. The new one was of lesser quality than the one we paid for (as confirmed by AirKing) and never worked right. Again, it took months to get this one picked up, with the involvement of the manufacturer; We ultimately bought a Bosch unit from Canadian Appliance and are thrilled with it. Even though Unionville Appliance promised us a full refund, It took several calls and when we finally got it it was minus a restocking fee! We get defective appliances from this company and they have the nerve to charge a restocking fee! This company is long on promises, but very short on promises. I highly recommend not doing business with this company, unless you want trouble and very little sympathy from them. read more

I am disappointed and disillusioned by Unionville Appliance Repair Service. They charged me 67 dollars to look at my microwave which has a broken latch. They told me it could not be repaired and would not give me a refund. When I asked them to at least give me a break on a repair in the future they would not. The people behind the desk were disinterested in customer satisfaction and unfriendly. I have had many things repaired by their home service people - their employees are fair, honest and hardworking. When I actually brought my appliance to them...... I was treated poorly, and I will not be giving them any more business. read more
