Raven is not only a great environment to get in shape and learn valuable skills. It is also a place to meet great people and how I have grown to call friend. Highly recommend this gym, classes are great and have variety. You get a 10 day free trial meaning you get ten classes free only counts for the class you show up for.

You will not find a better self defense system than Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and you will not find a better instructor in Forsyth County and Cumming, GA than Omar Lira. Professor Omar Lira is a wealth of knowledge and the best instructor I have ever had the privilege to learn from. He is incredibly technical and his teaching style is unmatched. Omar is invested in each and every student by being involved and helping them reach their goals. You won't find this type of attention anywhere else. The students are also a huge part of any school, and the students here do not disappoint. This is not a school that promotes or tolerates injuring other students. It's an incredibly healthy learning environment with more of a "second family" group of people. I really can't say enough about how good this school is. Definitely check it out if you're in the area!!!!

My daughter has enjoyed what she's learned and the friends she's made, but overall, we've been…read moreextremely disappointed. Communication has been a major issue--emails went unanswered for weeks, we had to learn about classes from other parents, and we had to find out on our own that competitions were no longer a focus. Competition matters because practice is practice. If students can't compete, how do they put their skills to use or know how they measure up? The belt system also feels unclear and inconsistent, with belts seemingly being handed out without clear standards. The belt ceremony was the final straw. We sat there for an hour and a half with our daughter, who had completed her progress and earned her belt. We cancelled for the following month, not the month of the ceremony. She was invited, stood there while everyone else received their belts, and no one acknowledged or explained anything to us. My husband finally had to ask why, and was simply told, "Because you cancelled." That's not an explanation. If she wasn't going to receive a belt she had earned, why invite her to the ceremony? This could have been communicated beforehand instead of making our daughter--and us--stand there wondering what just happened. Ultimately, this experience felt more transactional than relationship-based. Once we cancelled, it felt like the focus was no longer on our daughter or her accomplishments. We expected better communication, transparency, and genuine care for the students and families.
