Their…read moreused book sales are always a blast and a great way to pick up some extra reading material. :-) The reference librarians also offer occasional classes, which is awesome. Dunham has a very solid youth program. I used to love participating in their youth events when I was a kid. They used to have (and may still have) a summer reading program. Every time we read a book, we were supposed to jot down a short summary of the book on a little green form. Once we handed it in, the forms were tacked up on wall so you could see who was reading what. There was an unspoken competiton among us kids to see who could read the most books by the end of the program. I used to read book upon book until I had suffered eye strain--from the Choose Your Own Adventure series to the Ramona books, I read them all! ;-D

Centrally located to Cooperstown and Erie Canal. The B&B was better than I had imagined it to be. The historical structure holds an interesting past and has been newly renovated inside and out. VERY clean inside and out. The cook to order breakfasts were second to none. Loved being able to visit with Brick!! Jason went above and beyond with arranging a pastor to perform our renewal and arrange for a wonderful dinner at Beardsley Castle (a must see). Our room was comfortable, slept better here than at home! It was also a convenient location; lots to discover nearby.

Mostly old but a few newer headstones as well. A few simple graves market with crosses are in the woods. Looks like this building is maintained and perhaps even in use as a church. There are things inside, which can be seen through the windows.

Our quarters were comfortable, quiet and just the right vibe for a lazy weekend near the Adirondacks. This is also the perfect place to not only relax, but indulge in a nice meal. When you book a room, you might be asked if/when you would be interested in breakfast or dinner (depending on your itinerary). The owner, whose name is Rob was more than happy to customize our breakfast, while taking into account dietary restrictions/allergies. These AppleGreens are the convenient store of the East Coast, for if you get off the turnpike the toll will just bill your license plate. They are all inclusive for the area. Actually it's a great little store inside. Along the wayside, this is where the humans go for snacks and drinks, and the potty . The car parks outside at the gas pump station and gets its fuel. They are separate entities. It's wild, being from the West Coast . You feel like an outsider. "Being that outsider," we are going to just see what these little applegreens have to offer. The unique experience is different station to station too. On a road trip, I'm the individual that has to go potty every few hours. So we have to stop "a lot !" This particular roadtrip, we spent a lot of time in these road side shops. It was great . This is better than others. They have comfortable chairs and even places to sit for a while. The snacks are a local flavor. We actually found chocolate covered Oreos. We are in upper New York, and we still found trinkets with New York City badging for a souvenir. The experience at these little shops is quite different and unique compared to where we live. Time to get to living and enjoying life again. When you stop have fun doing it see how life is different from your ways.

My husband and I are travel nurses, and happened upon this motel while looking for a three month…read morestay. I actually decided it would be OK to check out, as from the road it appeared very well kept. The owner Mark was very friendly and accomodating. Although the motel probably dates back to the 60's or 70's, eveything was very clean and in perfect working order. It was comfortable and quiet, and served our purpose well while working a contract at a local hospital. Will stay again if the needs arise!!!
