Usually, I go here after a long day and just sit at the bar. I order my beer, watch a bit of TV then head home. Simple. No noisy gossip, no blaring dance music... just a big ass beer and basketball on the TV. The food is pretty decent. It's just a bit heavy for me if I'm here alone. I recommend the Spam Chips! Love those! The sausages are good too. But, seriously, you're here for the beer and you can't go wrong with a draft beer. They have flavored beers for the girls. If you're looking for something sweet to drink, I recommend the Caramel Beer. They have promos for every day of the week. For example, they have Girl's Night Out Wednesdays. Ladies get Buy 1, Take 1 on all cocktails and wine. On Thirsty Thursdays, my personal fave, all their available foreign beers are only Php100. NICE! If you're feeling the oldie bug and want a chill night, this is THE place to go! Who knows, maybe you'll see me sitting by the bar when you visit. ;)

Its gates are (literally) open for anyone and everyone to step in, have a few beers, and chow on some grub. Being a pub, they take pride in their beer and whiskey selections. Perhaps not the widest selection, ever, but pretty good for a bar that I can walk to. But, being somewhat of a buffalo wings connoisseur, I couldn't help but give theirs a try. I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked their recipe! I like my wings a little sour, and this hit the spot perfectly. Maybe a bit too spicy for my taste (although, I'm not complaining), but it is great for a quick buffalo wings fix. Look for Rachel -- she's the server who is stationed by the door. At least during the evenings. She'll take care of you.

This place has the underground scene vibes that will make you feel like you've time travelled to the 80's and found yourself in a dope rusty basement attending a rock n' roll show. I always have a good time whenever I'm here, the beers are pretty cheap too. Usual door charge is only P200 that comes with 1 free drink. For everyone who loves rock and/or indie music, this place won't disappoint you.

Local production groups will hold themed nights for their respective band rosters, and you can bet that any night is a good night with all the exceptional talent under their belts. Sticking out like a sore thumb in the quiet inner streets of San Antonio Village in Makati, saGuijo has been a mecca for real music, for real music lovers. It was home to some of the best nights of my life, dancing to some of my favorite bands and showing them some love. And I have been blessed with the opportunity to see some really great local acts here. Sure, you can see them anywhere else, but it's always a different experience when they play saGuijo. Maybe it's because saGuijo feels like home; they know that they're among kindred spirits, and they can play as hard and as loud as they want. They have food, but people mostly go there for the good times. And unlike most places in Makati, beer at saGuijo is cheap. All the more reason to let the good times roll!

Most often, when we are tired and starving, we make the worst decisions about what we eat. Today is…read morean example and reminder to never do this again. I'm writing this review quickly as I am having the saddest tasting squash soup I've ever tried in my life. The description reads Organic Squash: finished with saffron, infamous, dairy-free and divine. It should just read: infamously insufficient and mediocre. I'm very disappointed to spend Php220++ for this. The bread on the side is the nicest thing about it. The Cool Cesar salad for Php290++ is just not worth it. Description reads: romaine, maple bacon, with grana Padano shavings, and 63 degree sous vide egg. First of all, the bacon was just crumbs of sad Bac-o looking bits (you remember those artificial bacon you can buy in the grocery? Those actually taste better) and the sous vide egg they proudly put was just half the egg and overcooked(basically hard boiled). This is the perfect example of false advertising. Using fancy words and cooking terms to lure the customer and delivering a very substandard dish. Come on! The Seared tuna Niçoise Php350++ is nothing you can't make at home for even less than what they charge... Biodynamic greens, furikake crust, kalamata olives, tomatoes and hard boiled egg. Again, under delivered with just Lolo rosso leaves, one or two quail eggs and black olives that I'm sure aren't kalamata. They are the ones you can buy in the bottle or can...in fairness only the mini seared tuna was seated nicely but that is all.. So I'm not even going to bother trying anything else. If you can't even get the appetizers right, there's not enough enthusiasm for anything else on the menu. I also told the waitress the soup was bland and didn't taste good, she just giggled. I'm wondering what happened to Lulu.. This is my first bad review and I really have no problem writing it. I'm usually nicer but this is a joke. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. If you're looking for better value for money, you're better off going somewhere else nearby.. Like even-Subway-will-deliver-to-you-what's-on-the-menu kind of SERIOUSLY!

Summary Fair prices…read morefor great food. Cuisine is more British than anything else but there is some fusion involved. Plating is attractive and overall cuisine is fine dining but the atmosphere is more casual. Restaurant The restaurant itself is split into the main dining area and kitchen and then split off and accessible via glass door is the bar area. The bar area also has tables and supports the menu of the main restaurant. Incidentally the semi-coed bathroom (which can lead to a little awkwardness) is located in the bar section. The ambiance in the restaurant section is quiet casual and the decor is modern Western with the front of the restaurant a giant window. The bar section is a little cramped but it rarely gets full so you can usually find a seat for your party. Its a pretty average bar with the scene being expat and older. I prefer other bars in the neighborhood myself, but if I am entertaining an older ex-pat group, this is one of my go tos for a casual drink these days. My only negative is I hate their knives. They are these stand on their edge style that keep falling over and can't be laid on its side. Food I eat here less than frequently but more than "once in a while". I am a big fan of their wellington but most items on the menu are above average to really good. I will say nothing on the menu knocks my socks off, but the wellington comes close. Quantity is large but not too large. I've been told that the head chef used to be the head chef at the Marriott in London, however my visiting British friend declared the fish and chips "not good enough" earlier this year (for what that is worth). I personally am not British and hate fish and chips so I can't judge myself. Plating of all dishes is attractive and appetizing. Price For this neighborhood and given the food quality, this restaurant is really fairly priced. One of the better values in Salcedo Village for fine dining overall. Overall Highly recommend. Probably nothing will knock your socks off, but you will never leave this restaurant unsatisfied with the food and you will always get value for your money.
