The hotel itself is connected to nearby St. Norbert College, a well-known Catholic liberal arts college that gives much of De Pere its warm, intellectual, small-town atmosphere. The inn was developed in partnership with the college and carries a quiet elegance that fits the area beautifully. Located not far from the Fox River, the surrounding area has lovely walking paths, historic architecture, and that peaceful river-town feeling that made my husband and I immediately slow down and appreciate where we were. We had never visited this part of the country before and were simply passing through the De Pere area during a road trip. We had heard good things about both the town and the Kress Inn, so we decided to stay here while exploring northeastern Wisconsin. And honestly, it turned out to be a wonderful choice. The hotel has a sort of old-world elegance to it that we found very charming. Rich dark woods, classic furnishings, warm lighting, and traditional styling gave the inn a refined atmosphere without feeling stuffy or pretentious. At the same time, the modern amenities were all there, so the experience still felt comfortable and convenient rather than dated. Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, and everything worked exactly as it should. The reception staff were welcoming and efficient, and the entire stay felt smooth and relaxing from beginning to end. One thing we especially appreciated was the location. The Kress Inn made an excellent launching point for sightseeing throughout the area during our road trip. The surrounding town itself was surprisingly lovely with beautiful streets, river views, and a peaceful atmosphere that made us wish we had a little more time to linger. Sometimes when traveling through unfamiliar places, you stumble upon towns and hotels that simply feel pleasant and easy to be in. That was very much our experience here.

We were informed that we are not able to use the bathrooms whatsoever and offered no alternatives. We paid a lot of money for this trip and this hotel should be removed from its affiliation with game packages unless hotel gets Modernized. Very disappointed!

Every time you took a shower, you got blasted with scolding hot or freezing cold water whenever anybody in the hotel flushed the toilet are turned on the sink. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. I have a bad back which made my trip absolutely miserable. My husband does not have a bad back, but did by the time we left there! The corridors in the hotel were miserably, hot and humid. There's no AC in the hallways. NO GUEST ELEVATOR for the second floor for hauling luggage. So make sure you book a first floor room if you even dare stay at this hotel. The pool was absolutely disgusting. I wouldn't dip my toes in it. I know it's a Wisconsin state law that if you can't see the bottom of the pool, they shouldn't be allowing people to swim in it. The pool was open and cesspool like. The pictures on the website were obviously deceiving and must have been from when it was brand new. To say that the the hotel looks subpar compared to the pictures isn't understatement! I was extremely disappointed that I didn't pick a different hotel with a similar location! I 0 out of 10 do not recommend this hotel unless you're passing through on a one night stay for Lambeau Field, can tolerate a really bad shower and a really uncomfortable bed. Such a disappointing we can get away from my husband and myself. It was three nights of hell.

The spa amenities alone are worth the trip: a refreshing plunge pool, a sauna with icy cloths, a steam room, a waterfall hot tub, and a stunning pool. It's easy to lose track of time moving from one space to the next. There's a no-technology rule, so check online for photos--but honestly, being unplugged makes the experience even better. I booked the Uniquely Yours massage, and it completely melted away my stress-filled knots. If you can, ask for Diana--she's exceptional. The optional CBD cream was a game changer and elevated the entire treatment. And the shower afterward? Incredible. Multiple shower heads, every product you could need, and even a Dyson hair dryer to finish. I could have stayed there all day. If you're looking to truly unplug and let the stress melt away, the spa at Lodge Kohler delivers in every way--thoughtful touches, luxurious amenities, and skilled therapists who make you feel cared for.

Always excited when I get to stay at a Kohler location.
