Had New appts scheduled for my husband and 2 kids yesterday. But unfortunately could not make it past the phone with Ashley. This girl must be the owners family or something because the way she was talking to me with so much attitude was insane . We are a family of 7 but a simple issue regarding them having the wrong phone # on file and me not receiving any calls prior to appt turned insane. Ashley spoke to me with the worst attitude as if she owned the place. I said to her do you understand we are a family of 7 which is alot of business for your practice plus we have dual coverage. Despite all of the attitude I kept appointments but called right back to say that we will no longer be coming to appts. Practice should really reconsider who they have at their front desk and over the phones representing their business. We had an insurance switch at work and alot of my work families we were all looking for new dental providers and had found this place. Rest assured I have notified everyone of this experience and we are all going elsewhere. This is my very upset story with this company. They have different locations and I used to go to the one in San Jose which now has sold to an associated dentist worked there since opened. I had two crowns done prior to their sale of business and Dr. Deng didn't do a good job as he used to. Now because of the business is sold I also changed dentist and during my first visit to my new clinic I pointed out to my new dentist that I am not able to eat with my new crowns because it hurts when I bite into it. She told me in the X-ray it shows both crowns need to be redone, but it needs to come out of my own pocket because my old dentist already claim the fund once. I then reached out to cigna insurance and they told me I can work this out with my old dentist for a refund the claim, then cigna will be able to insurance for the crowns again. I tried to call and finally talked to an office management level and she asked me to email her the X-ray so I did, and they never reply and I tried to follow up but no response at all. This has been months from I tried to call and then the emails. I have two options, go to cigna to file my complain about the careless work, and go to file a civil case for the $$ back on my new crowns for out of the pocket I will be paying. I ensure you I will do both. read more

The care and services are fine, this probably doesn't effect you but Many years ago Huy Dang the owner came to United Airlines trying to drum up more business he told us Union Dental was a good deal for us and if we choose to join Union Dental employees and their families wouldn't have to pay a deductible. Recently I went in for treatment and they told me I have to pay a deductible. I reminded them that Huy Dang said we would never have to pay a deductible. They told me they will talk with the manager, she came out and said she spoke with Huy Dang and he said I have no written contract with United Airlines and I'm not going to honor that anymore. So obviously I took my business elsewhere. Huy Dang is not a man of his word he isn't honorable and he doesn't deserve any of our business. Find another dentist. read more

Prior to filling out my benefit package I called to make sure they accept the insurance and see when I could make a new patient appointment. The woman assured me they did accept the insurance and could schedule me an appointment later that week. So I filled out my benefit package and sent it in. Then on my appointment day 2 hours before my appointment they call me and tell me that they don't accept my insurance in that office. That their company does accept my insurance but not in that office, the office that does is in south San Francisco. A major inconvenience because I based the choice I made on my benefit package on the information I received when I first called. Now I'm hoping I change my benefit package, so I don't have to drive 1.5 hours to an office that does take my insurance. read more

BEWARE -YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!! As stated from the ortho coordinator Stephanie tonight: I was given a $3000 discount by choosing this union dentist, and that perhaps I should've picked a different dentist that better suited my needs. When I paid for my children's braces (in full- yes they got their money from me all up front and then over the next 3 years didn't hold up to their part of the deal which is providing in a timely manner the services I paid for) I wasn't informed that my children wouldn't been seen every 4 weeks. That disclaimer would've been nice, because then perhaps I would've given my money to a different establishment that was staffed better and can accommodate their current clients. As suggested that I should of done from Stephanie the ortho coordinator this evening. This ortho office continues to take on new patients without making sure that their current patients are seen in a timely fashion. Unfortunately Union Dental only has one orthodontist that works two days a week, and they continue to take on more and more patients without making sure that the current ones they have can be seen in a timely manner. When both of my children had their braces put on by Union Dental, I paid for them in full. Due to their booking issues, my children have been seen every six to seven weeks instead of every four weeks like at any other ortho office. Tonight my daughter was told by our orthodontist that on her next visit she will get her impressions on 10/24 ( yes in 4 weeks because I made this appointment 8 weeks ago) and then after that in two weeks, she could have her braces taken off. Then we went up to the coordinators desk and tried to book her 2 week appointment after impressions and we were told that their soonest appointment to get her braces off was December 5. That is 10 weeks from today(9/26/19)! Who does business this way?!?! This place does!! Do not choose this dentist if you want your 18 month treatment plan to take 2 1/2 years.!!! read more

Beware of "Specials" that aren't really specials. The cost is probably already covered by your insurance and they just need to get clients in the door. Beware of hearing initially that you may be charged an additional fee when they actually know they are going to charge you an additional fee. They don't have the guts to say it upfront, but admit later they were going to change that fee all along. read more

If I was able to give a zero review I would. It's unfortunate that I've had to explain three different procedures to my own doctors at Union because of their lack of looking into their own notes. Dr. Dang created a crown for me that broke within a week of getting it done. It was $1900 out of pocket. Then he says he'll replace the crown with a bridge at no additional cost because the crown broke so soon after. And now he has the audacity to have this rude receptionist call me without him directly speaking to me himself and tell me that he's going to charge me an additional two grand this is really upsetting to me that I'm being treated so unfairly and their business practices are just completely unprofessional.!!! read more

Been going to union dental for about 7 years now and I love this place. We had no dental insurance so we used to have to go to western dental so once I got my job and got benefits I was able yo get a better dentist. Went to Like 3 Until I my co worker told me about this place. So we started going there and wouldn't trade them for anything. The staff is so caring and it's all about you with them and making sure you are ok. We all know dental issues can sometimes be painful and costly but they always try and get you on asap to at least bring you relief until they can get the work finished. And they have pay as you go during your treatments. It is super awesome. I convinced my fiancé to switch over to them with his 5 kids so we are all part of union dental So trust me when I say this is the place to trust with your dental needs Thank you to the staff for being so awesome always Oh and I seen some pretty negative comments and I found them a little bit off because some make no sense and they haven't even been patients to even be rating all like that Is But you can't please everyone. Great work! I was nervous because I hadn't been to the dentist in over 5 years, but luckily my teeth were I'm still pretty good shape. I had a lot of exposed roots which lead to a lot of sensitivity. I started going here @ 7 1/2 years ago. At the beginning, this was an outstanding dental office. My Dentist was Dr. Danielle Truta- she's excellent, I really miss her. Dr. Truta and the rest of the previous staff provided superb customer service, very professional, welcoming/friendly, offered clean environment. They were all knowledgeable , great at their professions. If I had yelped Dr. Truta and previous staff at Union Dental then, I would have given them a 5* Rating, hands down . The staff has changed, I no longer saw any of the previous staff. . However, I had an appointment for an extraction last year. My visit went horribly wrong. X-rays were taken prior to. I had never seen this Dentist (Dr. Dang) before. He numbed my mouth in an area to the left of the tooth that needed to be extracted. When he came back to check to see if the area was numb, I told him/showed him what was numb that area wasn't numb at all. Without numbing that area by the tooth, he proceeded to extract the tooth anyway!!!! I had to ask him to please STOP I was appalled, livid even. It was time for me to get out of dodge. He then proceeds to refer me to a Oral Surgeon.... I'm sure I would have experienced extreme pain and need for corrective dental work if I had allowed him to continue. I will NEVER go back there in life!!! All I could think of was "Dang,"he doesn't know what he's doing at all. read more

After charging up our insurance and NEVER coming through with the bridge my husband needed we went to Affordable Dentures in Vallejo and they did everything he needed AND got it the same day!! This office makes going to the dentist and orthodontist almost fun! Awesome staff, gentle techs, dentists, and orthodontists...what more can ya ask for? I came to this office for a second opinion about a cap. The dentist I saw at Union Dental removed an old filling and took the time to actually fill it properly....without requiring a cap. He then realized a few more old fillings were failing, so he removed all my old fillings, did a deep cleaning, and filled them properly....no more old metal fillings :-) I was so impressed with the dental staff, I got braces too. I was, and still am, very grateful for how this office works with your insurance and with you so there are no financial surprises. Highly recommemd! read more

Outstanding Dentistry! I have never liked going to the dentist. Ugh! I have had dentist who want to pull out all of your teeth, give you dental implants, whiten your teeth, etc. Everything but do what you asked. I have excellent insurance from my company, and every other dentist I've gone to wants to charge you outrageous prices, and each one of them sucks your bank dry! I needed my top teeth taken care of first, because I was self-conscience of my smile. Union Dental came through like the champs they are. They even give you discounts when you pay with cash! It's a great place for the kids too! They have a special "Ortho" day for the kiddies. The only problem I had was the turnover of dentists. I have had three dentists in the course of two years. But, I must say, that overall, the dentists I had were extraordinary. Give 'em a try. Your grill will thank you for it! read more

My wife and I went to get some fillings done at Union Dental on Saturday December 8,2018. The service was horrible on top on that, Dr Tang or Tan was the one who did the work on me and my wife . My wife is still swollen from the work he did this morning. My jaw still hurts as well. He is horrible and I don't know how he can be doing this type of work when he does a horrible job. My mouth or my wife's should not be swollen or hurt anymore at this time I don't know what the hell he did for us to be feeling like this. I will never get work done by that doctor again. read more
