In those days, they used to mail them by USPS. It showed that they owed me about $800 from the beginning of that year. I called Loren and asked her why this amount was not refunded to me immediately. She gave me a vague and impolite answer. About 4 years ago, I went to the periodontist there to get an estimate for an implant. Loren sent me the estimate after some time. She wanted me to pay the insurance adjustment amount of $700. I called Delta Dental and asked them whether I am obliged to pay this amount. They told me not to pay this amount. I told this to Loren. She insisted that I must pay this amount. I went to another periodontist near Norwood airport. I got a better deal there. She did a good job. I got two more implants there. These Harvard graduates are greedy. I had bad experiences with a Harvard dermatologist and a Harvard ophthalmologist. Since then, I have been avoiding Harvard graduates.

I call there to schedule an appointment and to tell the secretary my insurance was DELTA DENTAL EPO and the secretary told me it was ok. So I scheduled the appointment. When I get there I SHOWED TO HER (Lisa) the card. She took the card and left. Then she come back saying everything was ok and asked me to wait in the living room. My husband had an appointment at the same day so I asked her AGAIN about the insurance and she said "if is the same as yours is fine". So he did the treatment too. Now I've been charged $234 for my treatment, I called the office and talked to Loren (I guess) and she was RUDE. She told "if is EPO everyone here knows we don't accept" "IF EPO IS ON YOUR CARD we know we can't accept". Well... apparently that's not true. Loren was just trying to make clear I'm lying, that I didn't showed the card. I'm here holding the card and EPO is clearly right here. I'm very upset. About being charged for something I try my best to make sure it was ok! And I'm upset specially about the treatment I received!! I'm posting a picture where you can see EPO on the card like LOREN said it wasn't.

My issue is with the billing practices. The practice makes patients pay up front before ever sitting in the chair. As in, I was paying the bill at check in. This means I'm paying for services that have not been rendered yet and I've had situations where my insurance has provided coverage so I paid for services out of pocket that I shouldn't have had to. They did send a refund but deducted money for other items they said were on my account. It felt sketchy. I find I have to watch the billing like a hawk and honestly I'm so utterly frustrated and flabbergasted by the business aspect of the practices I left. There are plenty of dentists who do good work and run a different business model that takes care of patients. I always left feeling that practice took care of their bank account before patients. When I questioned the billing practices I was told that's how most dentists do things now and that's blatantly not true.

When I went in to have it reattached I was made to feel like it was my fault and they wanted to charge me nearly $100 just to look at it. This after paying thousands of dollars for the crown just 6 months ago. I refused to pay and while sitting in the waiting area and I had other patients tell me they feel the same. Remember when taking care of a patient was the first priority of Dr Bliss!

They handle regular cleanings, fillings, root canals etc, and they keep appointments without long delays in the waiting room!

Can't say enough good things about Dr. Shurbaji and his staff at Advanced Dental Centers. My old…read moredentist left me dissatisfied and I had been looking for a new dentist here in Norwood. A cracked upper molar (which subsequently chipped off) hastened that process for me, and when I called for an emergency consultation, ADC was able to accommodate me. Dr. Shurbaji looked at the damage and told me I would be OK for a week until I could fit the follow-up visit into my calendar. Dr. Shurbaji gave me two options (crown vs inlay) and estimated costs for each. I deferred the choice to him, being the expert, as the costs for each were similar. The follow-up visit was today, and after about 2 hours at the office with Dr. Shurbaji and his great assistants Jill and Lindsay, I walked out with a new & permanent CEREC inlay. http://www.advanceddentalcenters.com/cerec.html No temporary crown or anything like that.
