This is not my favourite of Chemist shops but you can get your basic needs. Maybe it was an 'off' day for the staff but they were not the most helpful in what I was looking for. read more

Being a lazy bod the parking is right outside and I enjoyed wondering around in here buying bits and pieces. There were deals to be had and I am now washing my hair with carrots! Behind the counter they were most helpful as I needed help buying some anti-histamine one for day and one for night. A great little chemist.
As a previous poster said, this chemist is hidden behind Lidl's on Pottery Road. But to be fair,…read moreonce you turn on to the road for Lidl's the chemist is very clearly signposted. The late opening times are the real bonus of this place. There have been countless times in which I've needed some lemsip, painkillers or prescriptions after six o'clock and I've had to 'wait it out' whatever reason. A great place to be aware of.

Usually the shelves inside the…read moredoor have a good few offers beckoning you in, the orange stickers wink at you as you're out on the street and you just have to go in and see how good the offer is! And it's usually good! This chemist is mostly used by office staff in and around the Sandyford industrial estate. They pile in here to get the usual headache tablets and Lemsip's depending on their ailment of course! But this chemist offer much more. It has those fancy make up counters that are usually reserved for the likes of brown Thomas, it has a children's section that includes all sorts of accoutrements that are needed by babies and toddlers. Then there is the normal make up stands that fit into the shelving of the shop. On top of all this there is a stand that always has twinkly things hanging from it, little statues made of crystal, I have never bought one but they sure are eye catchers! Just in case you weren't drawn in by the orange sale stickers!

However, in these straitened times, I wonder how many Homer Simpson beer hats it is going to shift, as customers seem to be a lot less willing to part with their hard won cash for talking key rings and the like. Bypassing the premature Christmas presents, this Boots has the usual great cosmetic and toiletry ranges, and those all important offers. However, look closely before you buy, as although the buy one get one free offers are obviously a gift from the heavens, check into those "2 for €4.50" ones - you might be saving just a few cent.

I have tolerated this pharmacy for many years now because it is next door to my local grocery shop…read more However this month it has gone beyond my tolerance. I was there on Thursday to pick up my monthly prescription along with a biyearly prescription which I ordered yesterday morning. When I went to pick it up I was told there was only the biyearly item there for me. I explained I had ordered the full months prescription along with this and was told it had been processed and they couldn't process a second one. I explained that I had not picked up the monthly items and they asked me to come back in 5 minutes which I did. When I came back I was blanked by the woman who had initially served me who is the daughter of the owner but the other younger assistant said "they are just finishing off the order" The head pharmacist Cathriona came out shortly with my full prescription, plonked it on the counter, she did not give me eye contact but headed off down the back of the shop. I said "oh so you found it" she replied "I processed another one" no eye contact and no apology or any sort of care. I, the whole time smiled and was polite, something I did not get from them. This is the second time this has happened this month, two weeks ago I was told that my (once off) prescription wasn't there for me so I came home and rang my doctor and she said that they had sent the prescription a few days earlier to that pharmacy. So I rang the pharmacy and was told by Cathriona that yes it was there in the drawer for me, no apology again and no proper explanation as to why I hadn't been served it a few moments earlier even though I asked and her tone seemed to indicate that I was the problem. These women who were impolite and uncaring were senior members of staff, the others are the opposite. It sounds like they are trying to get rid of me as a customer and I don't know why because I, unlike them, am always polite and agreeable, I don't believe aggression or being impolite gets anyone anywhere, it will most likely upset me more that it will them. I have tolerated this bad service and treatment for far too long I think so I am voting with my feet now. Brigid.
