As far as bubble tea places go, this is my least favorite in Chicago so far. Their brown sugar tapioca tastes good but the coating can be overwhelming. I've tried three drinks separate times and overall I've been disappointed each time trying to give them a chance. It's not their service or anything. It's the drinks themselves. They're sugary and don't taste good. The taro slushie just tastes like sugar water and isn't even thick as blended drinks should be. The brown sugar and aged brown sugar ones are just both eh. Saw that there was a really cute new boba place with a cute Unicorn mascot so had to try it! And now I've been here 3 times already. They had a really cute scratch card event where you got a couple dollars off which I thought was really fun and encouraged people to come back. I've gotten the soy milk tea with soy pudding drink which my partner is a huge fan of since it accommodates all the lactose intolerant people out there. I think the soy pudding has a slightly grainy texture, it's just ok. I've also had the Ovaltine drink as well as the rose milk tea both solid. Recently they have a great new (limited time?) Topping it's milk mochi (手工麻吉）and it's texturally delightful! It's slightly sweet, not too sweet and pairs well with any drink I'd think in my humble opinion. I had it in the Pu-erh milk tea which was delicious I think next time I want the milk mochi topping with tapioca it'll be delicious! (Also very important, tapioca is chewy and good texturally, it gets soft in the hot drinks but it still has enough bounce to it that I'd take it in a hot drink, very passing tapioca) read more

I LOVE UNI UNI! I legitimately think this is the best bubble tea shop in Chicago. They have it all and they do it well! I love that they have traditional bubbles and crystal bubbles too. My favorite drink is the assam milk tea because it has such a strong tea flavor (I prefer my milk teas to have a strong tea flavor and not be watery). The bubbles have great chew and are so delicious too. Overall, amazing bubble tea, they just have something that most other shops don't. Taro milk was so good! The pudding in it were so yummy! I really like this drink! On the other hand, the mango tea was so bad. I am a huge fan of drinks with cheese foam but this one was just disappointing. The mango tea itself was blend, and they put the cheese cream in different container. This is the best milk based boba place in Chicago. Boom ... I know very contentious. Haha honestly there isn't a best boba but it's whatever you like. Some of our fav drinks are the soy milk black tea latte and peach jasmine green tea with cheese foam. The main reason they are great is because of the QUALITY of the ingredients. Most places have very similar drinks but here you can taste each ingredient as listed and it's not watered down as in other places. Granted the price is a down side around 5-6 dollars per drink and prob higher if u get large and more toppings like 8-10. However overall based on quality and umami taste alone ( not sure if that's the right adj for boba but I'm just saying it's full of flavor) I would vote this place as the best milk based/ cream boba in the city. The only caveat is that if you are craving brown sugar boba - Elitea is the best for that. Otherwise this place is a must try. read more

I got the peach watermelon jasmine green tea Yakult at 50% sweetness and it came out way too sweet. I asked for them to remake my drink and the girl who I talked to was pretty hostile and said "that's the lowest sweetness we have for that drink" when I got it @ 50, which makes no sense if it's on a 25/50/75/100 sweetness scale. She then said that I could get another drink. I ended up getting the lychee jasmine green tea latte, which tasted watered down LOL. They are very welcoming and receptive and definitely make me want to come back based off purely off their service. I got the drinks delivered and it was pretty fast. I ordered the puer milk tea with milk mochi, 30% in sugar level. I usually order 30% sugar in different milk tea places and I can taste the tea flavor, but not here. I couldn't taste the tea flavor, but I like the milk mochi. The milk mochi reminded me of the milk candy that has white rabbit wrapper on it. My sisters got the lychee green tea latte with no sugar. She said it tasted ok and the sweet level is ok even without addling more sugar. We also got the ancient brown sugar milk tea and it was ok too. I ordered the regular black milk tea. Immediately upon looking at the boba in my drink, I knew something was off. The first sip of my drink, a third of my straw was STUCK with gooey boba that wouldn't go up the straw. I continued to drink the drink and the boba was extremely soft and gooey. The milk tea itself was fine but the boba was just bad IMO. I told the worker and showed him my straw and he said "that is boba". Yes, I know it is boba. I've had many a boba in my life. He continued to say that is the quality of their boba. It was so bad I asked him to remake my drink without the boba in it. I wouldn't recommend.
