I'm posting this to warn other artists…read more DOORS NYC approached me more than once to show work. My framed prints were displayed for a long time with no sales. Then I received last-minute messages demanding the work be removed quickly, including repeated language about disposing of the work if it wasn't handled immediately. Mind you, I live in Los Angeles. Communication with the assigned "success manager" was consistently frustrating--delayed/inconsistent replies paired with urgency and escalation. When I asked for photos/verification of the condition and packing before shipment, she refused to reopen the package. After the work arrived damaged, the response was to push blame back on me and frame it as a UPS/insurance issue, rather than taking responsibility for how the return was packed. When the shipment arrived back, it was clear almost immediately there was a problem--crushed box corners, inconsistent sealing, and multiple framed pieces placed directly against cardboard with inadequate padding. The result was damage to 8 of 12 frames (about 75%). This was entirely avoidable with basic common sense & protective packing. I documented the unboxing on video and provided photos. I requested reimbursement for frame replacements at cost and escalated to leadership with no reply. I'm leaving this review to warn other artists: avoid them at all costs -- my work was returned damaged and they took zero accountability.

All I wanted to do was buy a hat as a memento and have something to show that I was able to actually visit the store and I was able to accomplish that. It was one of the best experiences of my year.

Looking at this reviews now i dont feel as crazy as i did after walking off. Example: I asked for size for different items and the gentleman looked at me said ok and went back to the same spot where he was chatting with another employee to continue his personal conversation and once he was done he came back to asked me one more time what items i needed size... excuse me? Another moment was me walking around looking for a fitting room now mind you they have like 15 employees for a store thats not even big they all see me looking around nobody said anything i had to literally go and asked them if they had fitting rooms they proceeded to point to where the fitting room was located..(rude) then as im taking my clothes off one of the employees without even knocking open the door (the door doesn't have a lock) scaring the sht outta me, doesn't apologize and again without even asking if i was ok with him taking my handbag he just took it and hang it on a rack right next to the door... he didn't care to take it behind the register anyone could have taken it and leave without an issue (this particular moment did it for me because i will go and check them out but they will never get a dollar off of me....) -1 Star because they absolutely could have better racks and features in the store the way they are set up it really looks like a thrift store i compare their looks to 2nd street thrift store but organized. For the price point and the amount of celebrities clientele who visit daily I think the store should have a more upscale look and even more items or more sizes. They can definitely improve in visual, sizes and handbags. Overall i will recommend this boutique to the shoppers who don't like to be bothered and don't really be asking for much information or sizes. If you demand customer service this is not a store for you, if your wallet or cards don't have at least 1,000 to spend please don't waste your time this is not macys.

On a more personal note, I visited Albertine three times before deciding to feature it on The Boutique of the Week, not because I was wary of the selection, but the price is higher than my norm. However, Albertine truly is too good to pass up and is the perfect place to splurge and treat yourself to an amazing piece (or two, or three...). The jewelry is the best feature of Albertine and will have you coming back just to drool over it. The exquisitely edited collection is priced from $100 to a steep $1,000+. The beautiful vintage pieces are displayed in glass cases, but touching and dressing up is encouraged. Delicate necklaces share a wall with leather cuffs, and pendants of owls and horns share a case with a silver snake ring and jade earrings. Prices can only be found out from a large binder where handwritten notes and photos document the inventory. The womenswear boasts up-and-coming designers and custom-made pieces that are feminine and vintage-inspired ranging from $150-600+. Flowy fabrics in all colors can be found in floor-length silk gowns and highly-structured bomber jackets. The cozy store normally only has one or two sizes displayed, but the staff is happy to find you the perfect fit in the back. A Victorian couch faces a large mirror for ample viewing, and you can even sometimes find the owner's dog napping as the eclectically chic staff offers spot-on critiques and styling tips.
