For anyone going here for something other than a buzz cut I advise you to stay away. I honestly didn't know you could mess up haircut this bad until it happened to me. My part was thin and very thick in some areas and the sides of my head ranged from a half to the same length I entered the shop with. The older gentlemen that was cutting my hair used a buzzer for my entire head rather than using scissors in some areas. I was in disbelief. Instead of asking the barber to fix it I went over to Pete's and they were just as shook as I was for the state my hair was in. The gentlemen over there did a fantastic job of fixing me up and would recommend going there or Hoyt's.

I have/had thick hair that is very difficult to cut -- according to my late father who was a barber for over Fifty Years -- and once I find a barber who can do it well, I'm there for life. haha Nick's Shop is a real experience for a guy who enjoys Sports... Memorabilia abounds, as does the Sports Talk... Nick, a local Youth Baseball Coach and Administrator, knows his Sports as well as he knows cutting hair. He's a real nice guy with a great personality... a pleasure to both talk to, and listen to, as he cuts hair while discussing all sorts of stuff with the man on the chair and the men waiting their turns. If you want a great cut at an unbelievable Price -- holding at $14.00 for years now -- go on down to Nick's... and the Entertainment is included for free. ;)

My daughter is two years old and we had a fabulous time downtown. At 835 we walked into Alfred Stephens salon and we wanted to wait in line for a balloon and we were told that my daughter could not get a balloon and that there was too many people in line. Again, my daughter is TWO and she was turned down for a balloon at 835 when this event ended at 9. I'm extremely upset that I had to walk away from this salon with my two year old screaming for a balloon. And I would never recommend this place to ANYBODY considering they were so unthoughtful and rude. Shame on you for turning down a two ear old- SHAME ON YOU!
