The rules are the same, and although dangerous, I feel like you have a slightly larger margin for error. Don't get me wrong, air guns are dangerous! They should be treated with the respect of a real firearm. The owners here are awesome. Great safety briefing by John. He's super nice and engaging. The prices seemed fair to me. I imagine you could easily rack up a bill blowing through CO2 and pellets. But here, they keep a tally for you, which is nice. I had a great experience here. I would gladly go back. It wasn't busy, so we were fortunate to get John's undivided attention and safety lessons. We also had some range time with him showing us the ropes. They rent everything to need. Just bring yourself. The eye protection, ear plugs, it's all here. You can rent any number of air guns. High powered ones to smaller kid guns with pump lever action. The hand gun selection is great. Desert Eagle, 357, .45, Walther PPK, etc. Of course, they look like the real deal, but fire pellets. Rifle selection included many scoped rifles of varying power. We opted for an M4 with laser red dot scope. Awesome. You can get your Call of Duty fix on the range. CONS: None I could see this trip. OVERALL: Something really cool and unique to do. A firing range without the gun powder. A great way to get comfortable around guns.

I took my LTC class at WSC with Mark V, which was very good and included a live fire session (10…read morerounds of .22LR). The class was ~8-10 people, both men and women, of diverse backgrounds. No one will feel out of place. They also have regular LTC classes for women only. I've taken other firearms classes here too and they have some very good instructors like John K, who has written a book on pistol shooting. I've since become a club member. This is the nicest indoor club/range that I've seen in MA, with a locker room (the small lockers cost extra, but can be used to store guns/ammo/cleaning supplies), lounge & kitchenette and a conference room. This would fall into the gun country club "guntry" category. Membership is not inexpensive, but worth it to maintain such a nice shooting environment. They have a plenty of social events too, and the facilities can also be rented. The well-maintained, 8-lane, 50-foot indoor range allows handgun shooting and rifles of typical handgun calibers, but no shotguns. There is a live-fire shooting simulator in one of the lanes. There is no outside range. Drawing from the holster or combat action shooting is only allowed on one lane for members who have demonstrated skill and have received approval by a Range Officer. No limit on rate of fire. Access is 24/7/365. Membership requires a short interview with the full-time manager (as part of a tour), but you don't need a sponsor, but you do need a FID/LTC. So not the level of hoop-jumping that some ranges require for membership. They operate a FFL on the side (not open to the public), so you can order a gun through them or if you buy a handgun out of state you can have it shipped here for legal transfer to you at a minimal charge (don't do that without asking first). They do have a very small selection of guns in stock. However, they are very conservative with regard to applying the law, so don't expect them to do everything, even if it is something every other gun shop in MA already does. They also have a new sister club, Founders Shooting Club in Fort Lauderdale, FL (and I think they are expanding to multiple locations in FL like Miami), and as I understand it membership at WSC gives rights to shoot there for free as well. The owner recently bought the building that houses WSC, so plans are being discussed to expand the facilities here. The only downside I've experienced is that they allow cigar smoking in the lounge after 3PM and the "smog" also affects the conference room. So it became a bit unpleasant in the later part of my 6-10PM LTC class due to the poker players smoking in the lounge (the strong HVAC prevents this being a problem in the gun range, which also effectively keeps the gun smoke out of your lungs). Hopefully this will be improved with the anticipated expansion. Unlike another reviewer here, I haven't found the range to be cold (and they run fans in the summer) or the members to be unpleasant. It is a somewhat older crowd, but you wouldn't expect many college students at these prices unless they are in the family of a member. It's not the place for people who want to pretend they are characters in a video game. Gun safety rules are strictly applied, as they should be. WSC is conveniently located just off Route 128, with ample free parking outside.

Owner is an asshat and range has no heat for the winter. Could of been good. I would avoid and find…read moregood people to shoot with.

I belong to, where people know me. Nobody knows me at Granite State. It was so nice not to have a man hover over me, putting his two cents in, before I even pull the trigger. I was offered help to reach the target stand (which I was grateful for since there were no stools). Other than that, I was left alone, which I was very grateful for. I was told yes. Then was told to call back an hour before coming up so they could reserve a lane for me. I did. Got there, and was told I needed to have a friend with me. I was not aware of this and he told me that he "always says that on the phone". I chose not to argue, but I know for a fact I was not told that over the phone. I would have questioned as to why I needed someone with me because I thought it was odd. If someone is that determined, they could go to an LTC class and just do it anyways so that policy just seems redundant. Idk that's just my opinion, but I did not appreciate driving up here expecting to shoot on a Saturday night then having to go home.

When I visit a gun counter, I'm looking for information, real-world experience, or practical advice that helps me make a purchase decision--not an argument. Unfortunately, my recent experiences here have left a poor impression. While some of the staff are knowledgeable and genuinely helpful, others come across as downright hostile toward any idea or preference that differs from their own. They seem more interested in shutting down the conversation than assisting the customer. I'm not there to debate; I'm there to buy. When the attitude is confrontational instead of helpful, it defeats the purpose of having a staffed firearms department. As a result, I've decided I will no longer shop for firearms at this location.
