One of my favorite places in Orlando. This is not your ordinary record shop, the selection that is showcased and being sold is very particular - they focus on Jazz but there is a wide variety of world, reggae, funk & soul, hip hop, classical and a bit of miscellaneous. Records are a bit pricey here because they sell a lot of OG press, and first releases... in addition, much of the vinyl here is rare and they only sell records in VG, VG+, E, NM, and M conditions. If you find something here whether new or used just know that it is gonna play wonderfully. In addition, there's a back room with $5 gems and places to sit around the shop. So freaking cute! I frequent record stores and this one is positively leaps and bounds over your average vinyl spot. When you walk in, the ambiance is so chill but posh, the selection is nothing short of AMAZING, and the counter help was sweet and helpful. Not to mention the music that was playing- Lord have mercy it was sweep you off your feet amazing. These records are vintage! I'm talking actual 50s/ 60s/70s/80s editions of the Stones, Zeppelin, Bob Dylan, Fleetwood, Marvin Gaye, etc. The big bigs, for a REASONABLE price. While your average record joint is gonna have a copy of Zeppelins Houses of the Holy with a beat up cover, scratched record, and a label of like $97- Uncle Tony's gotcha covered with a pristine condition record for like $30. Plus all the cheap 45s (I scored a 45 of Fleetwood Mac's Gypsy in perfect condition for $4 *happy dance*) and the whole room of $5 records, it's highly worth the stop. A true gem in Downtown Orlando. First off, I'd like to thank Yelp because I never would've known this place existed. And how about the name of the store? Donut Shoppe! I knew these guys would be legit even before I set foot inside. This is by far the cleanest record store I've ever been in. It almost felt like walking into your really cool's friend's penthouse/loft. Couches to the right and super minimal art design made for a down-to-earth vibe. Of course, records are the forefront - as they should be. As I spoke to Jonathan (hopefully that's the correct spelling), I shared my admiration for not stocking the shelves strictly with Classic Rock or Indie. As much as I love those genres, it gets old after a while. Here you'll find a strong assortment of Jazz, Funk, Psychedelic, World and a small selection of Classic Rock, Hip-Hop and Soundtrack. Most of the records are used. I can definitely appreciate this because UTDS specializes in first pressings and rarer versions of most LP's. Prince, Sublime, Van Halen, Beastie Boys, Frank Zappa and A WIDE VARIETY OF BEATLES SINGLES. Oh yeah, it took everything in me not to spend my entire paycheck on those rare EP's and 45's. I walked out with a live John Lennon 12" single w/ Imagine and Come Together, and a Pearl Jam 45 w/ Spin the Black Circle and Tremor Christ. If this shoppe was in my neighborhood, I'd certainly host an event here (ahem, Andi P. & Colleen B.)! Jonathan, you were professional, knowledgeable and a genuine dude. 5 Stars for a record-junky's absolute heaven! I'm admitting right off the bat that I'm not very knowledgable when it comes to records and obscure music. What I liked about this shop was the fact that despite that, I was treated with such respect and the owner talked to me for a while about how he obtains the incredible records they have in stock, the renovations he did to the space, local events he's involved in, and Orlando in general. I'm a talker and I appreciated how open he was to indulging my questions. I was only in the shop for a short time looking for a unique gift for a friend but my impressions were of a boutique space that's been decorated with deliberate style. From the polished concrete floor to the custom wooden furniture and accents, the shop feel both industrial and also 70s groovy. There's a turn table playing music while you flip through the shelves of records and even a few retro couches for when you want to give one a listen. The space really puts you in the mood to spend some time listening and grooving. Another thing I dig is that they carry clothing and accessories by Biggest & Baddest (a brand of The BBoy Spot) giving you a hint about the incredible BBoy scene in Orlando at the moment. They also carry a few retro boom boxes and vintage record players (that make me want to chuck mine out and decorate a room around one of these funky gems). This spot started as a pop-up shop in the Milk District and I hope it succeeds in its new permanent location because it is the kind of shop I don't want Orlando NOT to have. You may find some super rare LP you've been looking for, but just know you're certainly gonna pay a hefty price for it. I recommend checking Popsike to know what you're paying is fair. When it comes to a vinyl shop that has an awesome, varied collection while also resisting the urge to go full hipster (though I love me some hipster aesthetic), this place strikes the perfect balance. Often I find myself coming by to just browse and enjoy whatever they happen to have selected to play in that moment. A couple of times I've gotten into some fun conversations with the owners, and I always end up leaving with at least one new vinyl record. The place itself is very clean and minimalistic, allowing the records to take center stage when you walk in. I'd highly recommend giving this place a visit for either serious record hunting or just a place to browse and potentially discover some new music/music history lesson. read more

Really great vinyl shop if you appreciate jazz, funk, soul, and similar genres. They have a great selection of good quality records you won't find everywhere. The front half of the store is great, clean, and the records are well-maintained. However, the used records section is awful. For one thing, the records are in poor condition and being sold for $5. When I buy the $1 Rock & Roll Heaven records I expect them to be in not great condition but when they're just as bad and sold for 5 times more, it's not appreciated. I recently bought a record from that section that was so scratched I could barely play any music. Overall it's a pretty good shop, especially if you appreciate the aforementioned genres of music. read more

I recently checked out the Donut Shoppe. Out of all the shops in the Orlando area I decided to venture here first. Glad I did! THE GOOD... -As soon as I walked in Hector made me feel welcomed as if I was any regular customer -shop is very clean and modern -a good amount of rare LPs on the walls -bins filled with world music, reggae, jazz, soul, funk and some other stuff in between -nice condition of records that I did check -a couple of bargain bins (if that's your thing) -bunch of 45's to dig through -two turntables in front of the the shop so you can check stuff out (no headphones, but just ask and you can check it out) -will do mail order THE BAD... -some stuff was priced a bit high in comparison to what I've seen elsewhere (outside of FL) Overall, my first experience was most positive. I walked out with two records. There was definitely more I wanted to snag, but price was a deciding factor. I'm not talking the ones on the wall, but several in the bins. I was in the neighborhood after brunch and was looking for something to do to kill time before I had to go to work. This shop popped up as a well-reviewed place, so I set my sights and my GPS upon it. I ended up getting there ten minutes before their open time and patiently and eagerly waited in the parking lot for the clock to strike noon so I could begin the vinyl perusal. Noon came and went and when I strolled up to the store, the Exit sign was prominently displayed. I called the number listed on this page to confirm their hours of operation but it went to voicemail. I began to panic. Sweating profusely, and with the deafening sound of my own irregular heartbeat hammering away in my ears, the world around me began to spin. I waited another 15 minutes in the desperate hope that my luck would change and the kind owner every other reviewer on here has gushed about would welcome me in with arms wide open, but no such greeting ever came. I made one last attempt to call the business but once again got their automated voicemail. The place sounds and looks great from all the reviews and pictures so I suppose I'll have to try back again in the future. I guess my Karma level just wasn't high enough this time around and so I was quickly turned away by the cosmos and the powers-at-be. Onto the next adventure, I suppose! They're very picky about what they carry, only heat and rare gems. To add to this, the owners are great folks and very knowledgeable. Could go in there and talk to them for hours. I went in to Uncle Tony's Donut Shoppe looking for some single records. The main one I wanted was Schools Out by Alice Cooper to put on my son's cap for graduation. He loves rock 'n' roll music and I thought that would be perfect for his graduation cap. Brooklyn was so much help. Not only did he find that one but many others my son would love and he discounted them and gave me a great deal on a few records. He even threw in a free Rolling Stones one for me. The shop is very organized and nice. The records are in excellent shape. I can tell they are very picky about which albums and records they select. Great service. I really was excited to check this place out while I was visiting Orlando. The reviews were great and the pictures were too. So the store hours say that they are open at 12 noon. I got there at 12:30 after driving for 30 minutes and they weren't open. I decided I would check out another record store in the area and circle back later to give them a little more time to open. I finished at the other store and arrived back at 2:00 and they still weren't open. I tried calling them and still nothing. It isn't out of the ordinary for me to spend anywhere from $100-$300 at a record store, as a matter fact I spent more than that earlier in the week at one. I guess another record store will get that money instead. It's too bad too it looks like they had interesting stuff there. read more

Best .Record.Store. Hands down . Picked the store partially due to the quirky name and was so thrilled with the place . My husband and I spent over a hour here and found some great deals . Johnathan was delightful to interact with . He was also knowledgeable and helpful without being intrusive . He was happy to play the albums we were considering to check interest and or quality . I found a Ray Charles album in the bargain back room for $5 in great shape that I have seen for $50 at other record stores !we left with an armful of albums , we were very pleased with the prices and the selection .
