12.24.23 My hubby, MIL, and I stopped by for lunch after arriving into town from the airport. Uncle Mikey's is located in Murrell's Inlet. I called to confirm they were open. The gentleman who answered was cheerful and hilarious. He greeted by saying Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday to me! Upon arrival he continued to be funny. There was another gentleman who took our order. The person who answered the phone I presume is the owner, asked if we wanted to try parmesan cookies which he received as a gift. He also showed us t-shirts they sell that say Legalize Marinara which was so clever my hubby had to buy me one. Their menu includes Italian entrees, sandwiches, and pizzas. They also have a bar. We ordered a pizza, half a Pepperoni and half Uncle Mikey's Special (Supreme). I loved the Supreme as it was loaded with toppings. Hubby preferred the pepperoni. It was too cheesy for me. It needed more tomato sauce. Parking appeared to be limited. They have bar height seats which is not great for the elderly or those who are vertically challenged. They also have bar top seating out front. I told my hubby they should have a comedy show because the guys were funny and would have patrons come back as regulars. My MIL who lives in Murrells Inlet and had never been there wants to come back with her roommate. She wanted to buy her friend a Tshirt, but they only had two sizes, neither of which was her friend's size. Highly recommend this restaurant for the fun and energetic staff alone. Lol. read more

Authentic, delicious food! I couldn't finish my meal, so I took home desserts (Baklava and tiramisu). I asked questions about the Baklava, and the gentleman explained how he makes them from scratch. OMG, we stopped here after a long day toring the area. Now coming from NYC I typically avoid pizza elsewhere, but this one was right on our way home. The verdict- it's tasty but they put enough toppings on for several pizzas (it's way, way too much). Maybe some people like that but it just made for a sloppy mess. The food here is amazing! The pizza is true New York style pizza with a nice chewy crust. We've eaten here a couple of times and also gotten a meatball sub and the pasta with vegetables in a cream sauce. The nicest people and good food! Uncle Mikey is so warm and friendly. He always greets you as walk through the door. You'll find him there everyday except Monday when they're closed. The pizza is hand tossed and baked to perfection. The cheese is ooey gooey stringy delicious. Stay away and miss a dining experience with fun and personable people.It's better than staying home in your pajamas eating cold nondescript delivery pizza. They call it a cheese danish but it's phyllo dough, sweet cheese, rose water and sprinkled with chopped pistachio - it is the best!!! I'm a Boston based guy living in Myrtle Beach and I stumbled across Uncle Mikey's pizzeria in Murrell's Inlet and what find. Mikey is a Boston area guy and what a great joint he has. The thin crust pizza is great. From the sauce to the cheese blend...outstanding. A few Boston sports memories hung on the walls. The homemade lasagna and meat sauce was a hit too. We loved this spot! After a long drive, we needed a quick meal to feed 15 people. We grabbed 3 (massive) pizzas a sandwich, and a few cheese breads. We were greeted quickly by Uncle Mikey and had a lovely chat with him about Indiana basketball and Larry Bird. He was truly so charming and kind.
