I've been dealing there for years. You cannot ask for better service it's personal he goes above and beyond making sure you have what you need the right product for what you need. The inventory is incredible for a small shop. There's new there's used there's anything you want bags for every kind of vacuum. I've bought my vacuums there I'm a cleaner my mother buys her vacuums there. The owner is lots of fun there is no pressure to buy. He also repairs vacuums service that I've used a few times being a cleaner. If I could give this 10 Stars I would I recommend this business over any vacuum shop in the city do yourself a favor and check him out before you go anywhere else you won't be disappointed. Went there with a 20 year old stand up Miele. John told me it would be at least $120 to fix the motor, and parts for the vacuum were hard to come by. A comparable new vacuum was $400, but instead I purchased a refurbished Electrolux (a much better vacuum) for about the same. Call it an early Christmas present, but I am sure I will have many years of happy vacuuming with the Electrolux. John also explained how all the vacuums under $600 were made in China regardless of the brand, and how most OEMs (especially Dyson) are not providing parts any longer as they want consumers to buy new vacuums rather than fix older ones. Totally trust this shop! They won't mislead you, and you'll be happy you went the Vac Shack instead of a big box retailer. read more

I LOVE this business! I would definitely recommend this place whether you want to repair or replace your vacuum. I initially went there to get a belt for an old Panasonic beater bar gifted by a neighbour because I had a 5 year old Henry vacuum whose wand keeps falling apart. I was sold a belt for my old Panasonic, but when I mentioned my love of my Henry Vacuum and my frustration with the wand and nozzle ( the wand falls apart constantly while I try to vacuum because it's a cheap friction fit and the nozzle was held together with duct tape). The owner offered to replace the wand with a snap fit wand and offered to replace the split nozzle that connects to the wand... for a VERY reasonable price. 2 days later, I'm so happy with the new wand and nozzle on my Henry vacuum. The beater bar on the old Panasonic was seized and not worth fixing, and the owner promptly offered to take the belt back and reimbursed me. I couldn't be happier! Don't be put off by the cramped, fully stuffed store. I believe the owner really knows his stuff. He's got integrity. Didn't try to upsell me, just identified my need and worked his magic. read more

I rarely leave reviews, but to not underline the exceptional service at the Vac Shack would almost be unforgivable. They helped me keep an old Electrolux going for years. My wife and I live off Bronson Avenue and, when we get off the 417, we head south on Bronson and pass Vac Shack. The name has always tickled my fancy, along with the concept of a store totally dedicated to vacuum cleaners (insert "this store sucks" joke here). All kidding aside, I decided to pop in and see what the Vac Shack was all about. Well, it is exactly what you would think and more. They do sell vacuums - all sorts of makes and models (hand held, central vacs) and they service vacuums as well. I am not in the market for a vacuum right now, but if I was I would certainly keep Vac Shack on the top of my list. The staff is knowledgable - they KNOW vacuums. And, although the prices are up there, I have done some competitive research and vacuums are not exactly a cheap buy anywhere. Plus, if price is an issue, you can always purchase one of their rebuilt models. I'd rather shop in a store where they know you by name and are able to help you should anything go wrong with the equipment. read more

This place is an unassuming gem. Do yourself a favour and get in here to browse the quality machines they sell. I purchased a beautiful, used, 1988 vacuum in mint condition from John (owner) for $500 (I know, it's a lot, but read on) and literally didn't know how much I could ever love a vacuum until that point. This thing runs flawlessly, week-in, week-out, and far exceeds any vacuum I've ever owned. It's night and day compared to every other vacuum I've used. All the parts are American made, almost no plastic (but the plastic that is part of the unit is rock solid and thick) and has very few moving parts, all of which are easily replaceable and made of stainless steel. When I bought the unit, John through in a bunch of vacuum bags, several drive-belts and an incredible array of hose attachments. I've since saved over $500 bucks on the money I would spend almost every year on a new, Chinese plastic vacuum from Crappy Tire. John has since serviced my vacuum a couple of times, always with a friendly and courteous manner, and even went out of his way to offer my daughter a toy vacuum, which she loves. Recently I lost a cord to the vacuum, and thought I would be in trouble to finding a new one, however John just happened to have one in stock and I walked in-and-out within 5 minutes. Best part is he didn't even charge me, but called it a '$10 present'. Pure class, great service and hands down the best reminder of why it's important and useful to buy from local, independent businesses. read more
