I went here on a whim because I was in the part of town and had never been. I wish I had gone to Taco Bell instead and spent half as much. Firstly, I had the queso blanco which was salty and yet surprisingly flavorless. I had the crispy chicken tacos which were at least hot, although lacking in flavor as well. We also tried the nacho appetizer, for $17 all that was on the plate was 3 grocery store taco shells broken in half and topped with minimal cold chicken and barely any steak with microwaved cheese on top of it. The rice that came with the tacos was cold but had an okay taste...the only part of the meal I can say that tasted okay. The waitress was friendly and spoke highly of the food, the managers were walking around schmoozing with the guests over the loudly playing music that had a very club feel. It was an underwhelming and overpriced experience overall and one I won't be having again. I left perplexed by the full lobby of people waiting for tables and unsure if I just had come on an off day, but it was bad enough not to justify a second chance. Not being one to complain, I ate as much of the food as I could before being miserable with my decision to do so, and left. Would not recommend. read more

Terrible service almost walked out. Took 20+ minutes for anyone to walk up to our table. They messed up our order. But my biggest complaint is the price to quantity amount. If im paying 30 dollars for steak fajitas i expect at least enough to walk out full. It was a tiny plate of maybe 6oz of steak and a few peppers and onions. Never coming back. read more

Awesome Cinco de Mayo at Uncle Julio's Tulsa at the where Andersen, Kevin, G, Gustavo and crew were fabulous. Superior Customer Service with personality and food from scratch! Great Margaritas! Fabulous food. Queso, shrimp wrapped in bacon. Guadalajara platter! Great Ambiance too. Fun read more

Awesome service! The cheese enchiladas are delicious and our daughter loved the piñata dessert!

The food was really good but the service was missing completely. Our server was the two bartenders and one of them got our drink order then no one came by to get food. Saw them talk to each other and look at us which leads me to believe they remembered they hadnt taken our order. Food came out quick and delicious. No one came by to see how everything was except the manager. We sat there waiting to put in churro Togo and when the other bartender came and took it and we paid waited 25 mins for churros and I had to ask about them to receive them. They were not busy and the service was unacceptable. Next time I'll get it Togo because the food was the only saving grace. Please talk to staff about being attentive. It really affects enjoyment read more

Amazing food and service! We drove two hours just to eat here and it was definitely worth it. I love their fajitas but the cajeta ice cream is the best. read more

The food and environment was really good but the menu was very limited on vegetarian and vegan options. Unfortunately, there were a few mistakes on our order as well so the order was a little messed up which may have been partially due to how loud the music was and the fact that the server didn't write down or confirm our order. We would return but with the expectation that the food takes a while to arrive and we need to get confirmation on our order to make sure that everything is correct. read more

My friend Mary and I enjoyed the tacos, spicy shrimp, queso, salsa, table side guacamole and margaritas. The service was outstanding thanks to our server Montana. The decor was sensational both inside and out and the management was attentive to ensure everything went well. Thank you Uncle Julio's for a great experience. Respectfully, Wyatt M. read more

Great food super taco Tuesday! Must check it out for the experience! Kinda pricey but quality of food is great!

Good food, a bit fancy, decent Margaritas, but way too pricey. Won't be going again. Too many "mom and pop's" with great food and Margaritas at considerably lower price. read more

My new all time favorite Mexican Restaurant. The food is packed with flavor. We had the Bacon Wrapped Camerones and the carnita tacos. OMGeeeee. The salsas were the best also. Anderson is a great manager and Greg was a great server. The ambiance was pleasant as well. I can't wait to go back read more

First time visitor, we sat at the bar the bartender was very attentive, we ordered our drinks and they were delivered promptly. We the ordered our food, the Barbacoa fajita plate. Everything was delicious, well made and seasoned perfectly. All this for a fair price, we've been to more expensive places that weren't this good. I highly recommend giving them a try! read more

Pricy but still Definitely worth it! Especially enjoy the "Made From Scratch" Guacamole done right at your table! Food is Delicious! The wait is worthwhile even though your right at the entrance. Definitely should be checked out! read more

Excellent new upscale Tex Mex at 71st and 169 behind the B of A. Service was fast professional and helpful. Food was fast and hot when delivered and fresh tea and chip with additional hot sauce offered whenever it became low. I had the combination Tex-Mex with chicken and beef enchiladas and a beef taco. The ranchero bean and Mexican rice was excellent. Be sure and ask for spicy picante sauce it was wonderful and chips were crisp and warm. Our server was very helpful and attentive. read more

Service was good. Nice ambiance. Food mediocre at best. Not much in the way of seasoning or spices except a ton of salt. Price higher than most other Mexican places in town, chains and local. I understand paying for the nice setting but if the food isn't good the rest is just a waste. read more

Got Our Seats Instantly Just To Wait Over 20 Mins With No Service. We Didn't Receive Any Drinks Barely The Salsa When We Had Our Seats.

Crowded. Slow. Noisy. Not friendly. But I'll give them this, their fajita meats were succulent and delicious. Salsa, boring. Chips so thin they break. Won't be back. read more

Went today for lunch and watched them sit four tables around us who received chips and salsa and got their drinks yet no one even came to our table. Service is horrible and I will never return. Don't waste your time going there. Says open and serving lunch but they have no lunch menu!!! Don't go!!! read more

Great ambiance. The table side guacamole is wonderful. The fajitas were very good. Interesting drinks. I need to try the chocolate piñata! Great new addition to Tulsa's fare. read more

The food was just horrible . Hubby got the fajitas and we had to send them back because the chicken was hard and over cooked. We got the Birria tacos as an appetizer ! It was spicy, and was not what we expected. We have had the authentic thing for way less money and a lot better! Enchiladas were basic. Expected more from this restaurant! A couple next to is even left their food on the table and walked out! Definitely think they need to change whose in the kitchen ! read more

Great spot for lunch. Delicious and unique food. The salsa is something special. Always great service.

AWESOME! Get the steak and chicken fajitas and dip the chicken in the special butter.

Food is great!! Service super. The noise level is high. But super glad they opened in Tulsa.

Great food and service!!!! They have a happy hour also. Love the outside patio, will go back for sure !!

Great food. VERY friendly staff! Nice ambience. You HAVE to try the chocolate piñata!! Everything was great! We came here on an anniversary date, and they treated us like we were king and queen. read more

1 star since the food was hot and good albeit a bit salty. However, service was slow and the waitress admitted she was tired and just wanted to go home so we had to suffer through her non existent service. Drinks from bar were poorly made for too dollar craft cocktails. Tables uncleared, hot and sticky inside restaurant and pretty pricey. Maybe it was an off night but won't be back soon. read more

Horrible experience and food not fresh, definitely won't be back, nothing like the one in Allen, Texas.

Food was good! Service was horrible, it took 45 mins for our food to be delivered! Our waitress was also a little distracted and wouldn't check up often. Wouldn't go on a week night. read more

Most everything had great flavor and good sized portions. The Mexican rice could use some more flavor though, kind of bland side. Prices are in the higher end for Mexican food, but they advertise that everything is made fresh versus being premade and heated up when ordered. Only reason really for 4 stars was price. read more

I had the BEST experience at this place! The tableside guacamole is to die for. I've been there several times and my family and friends all get different things. We have enjoyed everything. Best Mexican in Tulsa. Looking forward to getting the chocolate piñata for my upcoming birthday. We had the same waitress, Lara, several times. She was professional, prompt, personable, and took incredible care of us! Highly recommend!!! read more

On Saturday, 10/28/23, we visited Uncle Julio's for the 4th time. We'd had 3 other visits since August-ish that had been good food & good service. I especially liked the roasted tomato salsa & chips. This visit, however, was a deal-breaker and we likely will never be back. We arrived for an early dinner, around 4:30 p.m., asked to be seated in the bar area. Our server took our drink orders, we received chips/salsa and ordered guacamole. A while later, server came back to take our meal orders - two taco plate for me, taco salad for hubs. We waited and waited and waited 30+ minutes for our meals to come out. My tacos had no cheese. Hubs taco salad was in a cold shell and looked really pathetic as far as the lettuce & sparse toppings with barely any cheese. Our server finally came to check on our meals when we were both about 1/2 way through - I asked for the missing cojita cheese and hubs said he wasn't happy with his taco salad. She sent a manager over who apologized and offered to replace the taco salad with something else. Hubs orders cheese enchiladas, which manager says will be out super fast, which they were. But they were about the blandest cheese enchiladas you could ask for. Whatevs, at this point, we just want to finish and go on our way b/c it had been well over an hour since our arrival. The manager brings our bill out and says that he's "taken care of the taco salad and the guacamole" - cool, thanks. Then as we're looking at the bill, we realize, it's still almost $30 (we had water, no other drinks) - it's b/c we were charged for the replacement enchiladas! I don't think I've ever been at a restaurant where I received a less-than-desirable meal and am offered a replacement then get CHARGED for the replacement! Weird and just the cherry on top of not-great service, an semi-expensive meal of tacos & enchiladas, and crappy refried beans (not sure what they've changed with the refried beans, but they were terrible compared to previous visits). All in all, we won't be back. read more

With Father's Day dining plans unexpectedly diverted due to the massive storms that rolled through Tulsa on Saturday night, we happened upon Uncle Julio's Mexican Restaurant and decided to go there instead! It was completely opposite from the type of food that we were planning to enjoy; however, what a pleasant surprise this place was! Literally no waiting to be seated, the super friendly & professional wait staff was at our table to greet us within probably seconds and not minutes, and the atmosphere was so nice! I was thankful for vegetarian selections! The warm chips were fabulous, as were the queso and the wonderfully fresh table-side-prepared guacamole! Our waiter was so sweet and professional and completely on top of everything throughout our entire meal! Our orders were delivered promptly and perfectly, water bottle was kept filled, chips and salsa were never lacking, and everyone loved their menu selections. We did have a little difficulty contending with and conversing over the very loud music, but it was festive and energetic in there and everyone seemed to be enjoying their meals with family and friends, too. We loved it there and will definitely go back! Highly recommended! Thank you for the great experience, Uncle Julio's! read more

I'm a long-time customer of Uncle Julio's in other cities and was excited to try the Tulsa location. We were a party of four, including a visitor from Europe who was intrigued by our exuberance about the restaurant. Unfortunately, the meal was a disaster. Two in the party are "plus-sized" but we were jammed into a small booth while there were numerous tables open throughout the restaurant (we should have complained to the host-our bad on this one). Our server was preoccupied with a table of about 12 people celebrating a birthday, so we waited an inordinate amount of time for our drink and appetizer order to be taken. When the food arrived, my European guest (fluent in English) was brought the wrong entree. The server was visible perplexed and finally agreed to bring a replacement. After some time, while the other three guests sat looking at each other with their entrees, the replacement arrived and was again the wrong. Our server admitted to having some difficulty with English and after another wait, the correct entree was brought to the table. Other than mentioning the language issue, there was no apology or a visit from someone in management. Two of the other guests mentioned that their food was overly salty and ate less than half of their meal. The lack of attention to detail and apparent uncaring attitude of management is concerning. Opening a restaurant in a new city must be challenging, but Uncle Julio's has been operating for over 30 years. read more
