One of the best Mexican restaurants around. The best tableside guacamole in Naples. Lots of outdoor seating with great drinks. The cheese and onion enchiladas are fantastic with vegetarian cheese sauce and vegetarian beans and rice. Service is great with lots of servers. We tried the Uncle Julio's today in Naples for the first time after Christmas. We have been to several other locations and were excited to get one here. This location did not come close to our other experiences. 1. We did not receive the correct drink order. 2. We asked for a side of sour cream. We were charged for it and it never came. 3. We ordered three quesadillas and they were very inconsistent. One was mushy with cold cheese and other one was hard and crunchy 4. We placed a to go order when we ordered our meals and it didn't come for at least 30 minutes after we finished eating. We followed up with several staff to finally get it. We have been eating at the original uncle Julio's on Inwood and Lemmon in Dallas for literally 35 years. Outstanding Tex-Mex. When they franchised, they lost a little bit, but kept 90% of the food and flavor. The new location in Naples Florida is a perfect replica of the original. The fajitas are fantastic and I highly recommend the Guadalajara which includes three bacon-wrapped shrimp. Great margaritas, and you better try a Swirl. I suggest a reservation, because Naples does not have much in the way of good Mexican, and the place was packed when we got there. You can do that on Resy. read more

While the food was decent, our order for 4 people took an hour. The table next to us, who were being seated when we put in our order, got their food before us. They were also complaining about the wait. The server said he would get the manager when asked why it took so long. The manager never showed up. After enquiring about why the manager never came over, we were told she was too busy. Wow, all it would've taken was a simple apology and explanation but I guess we (the customers) weren't important enough. She likely was busy dealing with other unhappy folks. We came solely for the chocolate piñata. It is impressive to see but underwhelming in taste. We didn't have an enjoyable dinner at Uncle Julio's Naples. We had chips, salsa and guacamole to start. We ordered the small guacamole which was tiny. The chips at the bottom of the basket were crumbles. The steak fajitas we ordered were raw and they had to bring a completely new meal. When we wanted to pay, the waitress brought us the wrong and much higher bill. The food wasn't upscale Mexican, just Mexican at a premium price. Our watermelon margarita was the only item we ordered which we liked. We will not go back. Tacos and Tequila is such a better option for Mexican food in Naples. read more

I give this a 1-star only because the margarita and chips were good. Otherwise I'd look for a zero. Sat at the bar and ordered two basic enchiladas plates. We waited for 45 minutes and finally asked the bar tender to check. Our food came out right away... lukewarm at best. It had undoubtedly been sitting back there for quite a while. We tasted it and the cheese was like rubber and the enchiladas were barely warm. We asked them to take them back which they did willingly and then the manager came out to offer more food. Drove from South Florida to celebrate our anniversary. It is not like the one we used to have in Boca Raton. We ordered queso blanco with ground beef but our chips were all small, broken pieces. By the time we received chips large enough to dip the cheese was coagulated. We ordered 2 fajita dishes with onions on the skillet. He was half way done by the time they brought his onions out. We both ordered with beans and rice and only one serving came out. My fajita order was not correct. The manager came over to correct. She was amazing. Once my fajita was correct we had to request limes, again. I got them while eating my second fajita. The only reason I am writing this review is because the waitress literally stood over the table waiting for us to pay the bill. I made it very clear I would not be needing change since I was paying with cash. All in all, a very disappointing experience. Uncle Julio's was one of my favorite restaurants when it was in Boca. Unfortunately, I am not a fan of this location and do not feel it is worth the 3 hour drive. read more

Worst Mexican food I've ever had in my life, save your money and go to Taco Bell or Chili's. The fajitas Steak meat was so chewy. I almost yacked. My family and I were in there and had an interaction with a female manager that was not pleasant she tries to come off nice but is just rude with the nonverbals. It's obvious she was having a bad time of it but that is not our problem maybe take some time off? As we were on our way back to our family's home, we were reading a few of these reviews and it's obvious that the problem is ongoing and it appears to be the same manager. It also appears that whomever responds to these sees the customers as the problem not the other way around yet the service is still a problem and the food is not very good. We'll definitely be back to Uncle Julio's! Both my husband and I really enjoyed our meals and our overall experience at this restaurant. We wanted to try someplace we've never been and we're glad we chose this place! From the service to the food, we have no complaints! The atmosphere is cool as well! When you sit down they serve you chips and salsa (similar to Tacos & Tequila, but better) and water. I loved that they left the pitcher of water at the table so we could refill whenever we wanted. And when our chips were getting low, we didn't even have to ask and our waiter brought us another batch and more salsa. Our waiter was super friendly and very diligent with our orders and making sure we were satisfied. Our meals took a bit to come out (15 min), but according to the menu everything is made from scratch, so we didn't mind waiting. It was all delicious! Had to return my blackened fish tacos due to heavy salt. I love salt but these were so salty it was unbearable. They brought me two shredded chicken tacos to replace the fish tacos. Just okay. My family and I came for the mock service. The ambiance was great and our server Kirby was also wonderful. I ordered the barbacoa street tacos and they were so good! the barbacoa was flavor and the tortillas they used were the perfect texture of crispy and soft. We also ordered the honey habanero shrimp and those are packed with flavor! Highly recommend if your like sweet & spicy. We have been eating here since the restaurant opened. Our last two trips to this restaurant were disappointing. It took more than 40 minutes to get our entrees. This was a kitchen issue, not a server issue.. The slowness of the entrees has become worse each visit, The other significant issue is the very noticeable shrinking of the entree sizes. My shrimp fajita barely had enough vegetables for one corn tortilla. The grilled shrimp were tiny. My husband had the same small serving size for his chicken and beef fajitas. The beef was tough and not up to par. Our hope is that management can address these issues soon. read more
