Where do I start? This kinda went bad from the get go. We came by with out-of-town family on a Sunday night after the sunset. My wife and I had been here before & it was wonderful so it pains me to write this review; friendly, cheerful waitress, great service & the food was delicious. Not so much this time. It was crowded but we got a table right away. It took about 15 minutes for our drink order to come out, but it was kinda busy. After about another half hour, one of our four meals came out; then it was crickets. Our waitress never came back to the table; no one else made eye contact with us. We saw at least a dozen meals delivered to tables after we got our one meal, but no other meals or contact with us. After 20 minutes of waiting for the other 3 meals we cut our losses and went to the counter and asked for the bill. A man (appeared to be the owner) brought the bill out & offered a half hearted apology but no offer to comp us for the drinks (it looks like they did not charge for the meal we got). I realize things happen, but had this man (manager?) just apologized for what happened & told us that we owed nothing I honestly would have been ok with it and not even taken the time to write this review. However that wasn't the case. This place is tiny and in the back of the shopping center but don't let that fool you. Super tasty and legit. The fundido was great and super cheesy pull!!! I had a watermelon marg with fresh juice and it was delish. We got a pastor sope so tasty and pastor was fo w right with pineapple and nice chunks. My bf had the fajitas and he loved them. I found this little gem on Yelp while down in Florida. I live in Chicago, and to say our food is amazing is like saying the ocean is "kind of big". Salas Brava is definitely in the top tier of traditional Mexican cuisine. Hellen was our server, and she was attentive and very friendly. We ordered a variety of tacos, and the campechano along with the Res and the Carna Asada were delicious! Chips were home made, and the margaritas on the rocks didn't disappoint. It is a small quant establishment, so larger parties might want to call ahead. It is tucked away in a corner of the strip mall, and the inside area can only seat 20. This was by far the BEST Mexican food I have ever had. We are visiting from AZ so don't know many spots and stumbled across this little hole in the wall & it was so amazing!! It was a little tricky to find but follow the gps and pull into the lot as directed. You will find it tucked away in the back. The food was authentic and tasted extremely fresh. The fajitas were piping hot and tasted good. The tostadas were also good as were the tacos. One thing to note is that the taco shells are made by the restaurant so they are different than your average Taco Bell or Old El Paso shells. Our son was not a big fan of these shells but still ate them. The service was friendly and the patio was a nice atmosphere. Overall if you are looking for real authentic Mexican food, this is it short of crossing the border. read more

This most unassuming restaurant was found deeply tucked in the rear of a small strip shopping plaza. The first time we came here, we were foolish not to have reservations. We solved that problem by returning the following Sunday at noon. Salsa Brava has a few ((perhaps 6-8) small tables inside and quite a few more just outside the entrance. Chips and salsa were outstanding. The chips were fresh and tasty and the salsa had a nice flavor as well. As good as the chips and salsa were, the real draw were the entree's. We decided to order off the dinner side instead of the lunch as the choices were greater. A staple at every Mexican restaurant (Tex-Mex or not) is fajitas. I ordered the steak and chicken combination and immediately noticed the quality and taste. Both the steak and chicken were extremely flavorful along with the vegetables (onions, peppers, etc.). Whatever simmer sauce they use is definitely a winner. My wife ordered flautas and had the same comments. It is unfortunate we discovered Salsa Brava near the end of our month's visit because we would have eaten here several times. What an excellent surprise! read more

Wow!! This place is it for authentic Mexican. Hidden Gem for sure and worth exploring. I must say, it was a little difficult to find the restaurant-literally a hidden Gem. Its tucked in the rear of the strip. We called in take out order. The woman that I spoke with was professional and courteous. The interior is small and cozy. Vibrant and bright with cute decor. They also have outdoor seating. I ordered take out: chips/salsa, chilaquiles, steak taco, steak and chorizo taco and chicken taco. All items were full of flavor, fresh, delicious, soooo perfect! I've never had steak and chorizo taco and made a nice combo. The chicken was marinated and juicy. We have been searching for chilaquiles in Naples- finally found our go-to. It pains me to give this place a 3-star review, because I think we may have hit a number of issues on one night that are unusual. First, they DO take reservations notwithstanding what is on the Yelp page. Also, they are tucked way back in the mall, and are not easily visible from the parking lot or street. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation time and there was a card on our table with our name on it---nice! We sat down and after about 10 minutes our server arrived. We placed our drink order - sharing a marvelous pitcher of margaritas. After a bit we got in our food orders. The food runner was all over the place, getting items out to everyone. They apparently had some sort of other staffing issues, as the servers would disappear for quite a while, and then hit one table and be gone again. We got our food after about 30-40 minutes, and were there almost 2 hours before we could finagle our bill from the owner. We would see servers go into the kitchen and then not come out for a while. Anyway...not sure what was going on, but 2 hours at a Mexican restaurant from start to finish for a party of 2 with no appetizers or dessert is a record breaker for me. The food was good to very good overall. My tostadas were good, and my wife got the Mojo Shrimp, which was good, but her rice and beans were cold upon arrival. My tostadas were good. The complimentary chips are the heavy, thick variety, and were pretty good, and the complimentary green salsa is good. We did opt for a side of Pico, and a side of Guac. We waited almost 40 minutes from when we were finished until we could get a check, which I think may be an oddity for this establishment and is a record breaker for me. Given the other reviews, and the overall good food quality, I hope our experience is an aberration. read more

We decided to do a 1 day get away for our anniversary to Bonita Springs, Florida. Lounging in our hotel room, we got onto Yelp to search for Mexican restaurants in the area. It's great when the establishment or the patrons provide the menu. This and the photos helps a lot in making the right choice. Out of the closer places to the hotel, we ventured a few more minutes to this "hole in the wall" hidden gem... and when I say hidden, I mean it... there was construction and we almost missed the place because it's squeezed into the back of the plaza... but it was well worth it. The food is FRESH... I mean sizzling hot and real. The tortillas were authentic, not fake and the plates are made to order. My wife ordered the mixed chicken and beef fajitas. The plate looked small, but it was not. It has plenty of meat and veggies. Rice and beans were also fresh. I ordered the chicken flautas... a favorite of mine wherever I go and they did not disappoint. The rolled corn tortillas were filled with lots of flavorful chicken and all the toppings: lettuce, tomatoes and cheese and sour cream, but you can customize this to your satisfaction. A hidden gem...hidden being the key word. It's tucked away at the last unit in a little strip. This place is my favorite Mexican spot in Naples and I just realized I've never Yelped about it. The chips and smooth blended salsa are fantastic; good luck putting them down once you start. On my recent trip, I ordered ground beef tostadas and they were delicious, as usual. This is a secret gem! The food is really authentic Mexican food. Everything was sooo delicious! They offer like 12 kinds of protein for your tacos, gorditas & sopes. The tomatillo sauce is so tasty and the prices are excellent. I had a trio plate with a tamal, a sope and a taco. The Jamaica water was perfect! No so sweet compare to other places. The owner (who is from Guanajuato) came to say hi and in general everyone was incredibly friendly and attentive. If a plan to go to Naples again I will stop again to enjoy the authentic flavors from Mexico. read more
