On Friday 26 September our recliner love seat while in the extended position stopped working as designed. Both side are struck in the extended position stopped and will not retract. We made notification to Ashley and spoke with a human and was referred to call a number and the contractor will take care of the problem. The contractor is a "BOT" but never spoke with a representative/human. We were told that the contractor will make contact within 36 hours. Tick, Tick. We were emailed by the BOT and requested an address to send the replacement parts to be sent to. We sent the address as requested. Tick, Tick We were emailed by a BOT requesting photos of the serial numbers. We sent the photos of the serial numbers. On several occasions over six days we called the Ashley Store at 9100 N Fwy I-35W and told there was nobody present to answer my questions. Even our sales representative Donna M. Has ghosted us. Tick, Tick So where do we go from here? Why doesn't Ashley make good on their warranty? Tick, Tick Why can't Ashley management make contact with me? Ashley is dishonest in their business practices! Ashley relies on their contractor without any oversight of their unreliable practices. Tick, Tick Is it normal for Ashley to practice display unscrupulous behavior without any accountability? But, honestly I have yet to buy from RTG. The main reason for this is... The sales people are too hungry. I know it's "how it works". And, maybe I'm an idealist living in a capitalistic society. But, I instantly feel adversarial when I'm tagged as a prospect (don't even get me started about the car business). So, my go-to is to be friendly to the first salesman who approaches me, get their name and assure them if we get ready to buy something I'll work with them. Then, we move on to look around and essentially use the salesman's name as a force field against other hungry salesmen circling the floor. It's a bad system, and it inclines me to come here to browse only. The variety is strong, with traditional, mid century, modern and other styles to look at. The showroom is clean, bright, and large. It was totally worth the drive though, and merchandise changes daily! Most of the items they have are Target brands so you pretty much know what you are getting in terms of quality. Some items are discontinued from Target and some are currently on the website, however, they beat all the current prices. Some pieces were 50% off the website price and some were closer to 25% off (like the couch and tv stand I purchased). Delivery is available within a certain radius for $60 which is super reasonable. Jean helped me find what I needed and made sure the guys were able to deliver to my area. I'll update when I get my stuff delivered in a week or so!

From creating a mood board, to selecting the most comfortable furnishing, to working with me to find alternative options during our design meetings, the experience was truly enjoyable. On the sale side working with Evan, I loved the quick communication over text and the detailed invoices to review. He was always available for my questions or change updates. My only issue was there was no actual signed contract for our big project. This made my husband and I uneasy at times, but Living Modern has an amazing showroom that is not going anywhere anytime soon.
