Can't understand how this place has anything lower than 5 stars. My girlfriend and I had the greatest experience. Price is great, especially at lunch. I wasn't expecting much considering, though god damn, quality was top tier. Had chirashi bowl and the lunch combo with probably the freshest sushi I've ever had. No fishy taste, no slimy texture, and really flavorful. The ambiance is also super homey. They even have private booths, which is pretty romantic. Service was fast and people were professional. Never wrote a review, though it was so good I had to. Can't recommend it enough. Hope this helps boost up the rating here. read more

A Korean owned, Japanese restaurant ... so we ordered the bulgogi ... and it was excellent. We ordered tea and were surprised when they did not leave the pot of tea, but we never had to wait for a refill. Clean and nicely decorated. The staff is friendly and attentive without being obsequious. read more

I never gave a review on anything so when I do, it's exceptionally good. One of the best chirashi bowl I had, the fish was so fresh and rice was seasoned just right . Definitely come back if I'm ever in town read more

We usually order take our from Ume. The sushi is always fresh and ready on time. They always include a small treat with the order, which is a nice touch! The restaurant is located in downtown Bolton. There is plenty of seating inside for those who would like to dine in. read more

Really good Sushi and Edemame! The place is a little dated but overall I'd give it a solid 4 stars.

The best sushi in the GTA!! Huge selection to pick from. The service was excellent as well. Loved the little seating areas that were cozy. Reasonable prices and great size servings. Would recommend it for sure! read more

I mean sure, the price is good, and usually that's enough to get me into any sushi joint. But this place comes with an awesome bonus - the taste is good too! They've got a couple different/unique selections you don't find at a lot of the other sushi places, which is awesome to change things up a bit. Really enjoyed the food here and will definitely be ordering again next time I'm in the area. read more

Ume Sushi - a long table of food - Sushi Bars Near Me - Bolton, Ontario

It's a great and very reasonably priced A La Carte sushi place that I drive 25 minutes from South to Bolton. They are friendly and the place is clean. Though very busy these days the wait time was about 2 hours on a Friday night. The only complaint I have is that their new Tampura batter is too hard and thick. It's a shame because they have a Lobster Tail Tampura combo for only $11, but the tampura batter over powers everything. It uses to be great when they had the normal batter. read more

Great sushi. Great service. Fair prices. Good location. Great for pickup too. Meal combinations are good value.

This is my absolute fav spot for sushi in Bolton. The only thing that sucks is the fact they are closed Mondays. Cute decor and the ladies there are the sweetest! read more

Dined in with my friend after a game of golf nearby. This is a charming little sushi restaurant in the heart of Bolton with little private curtained rooms, each of which can cozily seat four people and is decorated traditionally. The service is very good (they have a little button near the edge of the table to call for the server) and friendly. There was a steady stream of people picking up takeout orders, which also tells you something about the quality and value. Thankfully, there was free parking in the back and also a few spots on the street in front. Between the two of us, we ordered about 8 different items, and every single dish was delicious, delightfully fresh, and presented beautifully--compliments to the chef. We will definitely be back. There's always room for improvement. First, I would suggest creating a photo insert for the menu to feature photos of signature items. Second, cloth napkins would be nice for dine-in. Last, we were never offered a drink menu; I have to admit, I was content with the bottomless green tea, but I have to say that I was puzzled by this omission. read more

I've been using ubereats for Ume sushi for almost a year now and they are hands down the freshest and best I've had in this part of town!! My favourites are their Dynamite roll and also their yam roll! The yam one is a nice mix of sweet and salty. The portions are also very filling! Also their service is amazing, they always make sure to provide enough soy sauce, pickled ginger, wasabi and chopsticks. read more

The food is quite good, however very disappointed with the service. I tried to order in person an hour before listed closing time and was turned away. My family and I will have been coming here for a long time and will no longer give them our business. read more

Great quality sushi & sashimi, especially for a local sushi eatery in Bolton. Every time my bf and I came for dinner, we would order one of the boats. We would always leave more than satisfied with the nice service and good food. Only complaint was, we found the cucumber maki rolls to be too simple and surprising to be found on a boat since it is nothing special. In addition from the appetizer menu we were not too fond of the floury, slimy texture of the takoyaki. Got a chirashi take out another time and was not disappointed! (Had to wait an hour for it because they were swamped with orders, but it was worth the wait. Got my sushi cravings satisfied!) read more

The food is great, but there are no standards and staff is unable to organize the many pieces of a business. Priority seems to be given to takeout, instead of the people who actually make the trip to the restaurant! They allow children and parents to shout and speak across tables, and the atmosphere felt like I was in a McDonald's Play Place instead. If you order, be sure to order 1 course at a time. Staff is unable to coordinate courses for you, and just order everything at once. So our main courses came and we so wanted to cancel the appetizers. That's when you get the manager coming over to try and convince you to keep it because it's coming. You insist it be cancelled and then get even worse service. No one checks on you, no one refills the very small cups of tea, and you have to ask for the bill 3 times. If I was a worse person, I would have walked out and told the people coming in not to bother staying....they'd be happier with the takeout. read more

We came late, restaurant was closing in 45 minutes. Service was still great. The owner was really sweet. Sushi was fresh and they even were open to customizing our order. We ordered plum wine and it was served with an ice cube shaped like a lotus flower. Really cute. read more

Hummmm... well after reading all of the rave reviews my wife and I decided to give this place a try... Holy moly... where do I start... perhaps let's start at the fact we have eaten at the best sushi shacks and some nastiest ones too... this one in my opinion is NASTY. So let's discuss decor .. The place looks like it would NEVER pass inspection... dirty walls.. dirty floors, exposed wiring...more extension cords connecting stuff than you can shake a stick at.! Eating area dividers are cobbled together from old school do it your self Ikea book shelf's . But in the end we just could not get past the dirty feeling.. Food wise: Shrimp Tempura was outstanding. The rest was less than mediocre... we had : Lobster tempura - 3 out of 10 - lobster was mushy Lobster Roll - 2 out of 10 - mushy contents Dynamite Roll - 2 out of 10 - tempura cold- sauce was bizarre tasting ... dark drizzle sauces tasted like it contained cinnamon & nutmeg... very non traditional. Wasabi was BLAND ..!! I just can't go on... we weren't sure if the "sushi " would stay down long enough for the 40 min drive home.. DISASTER DINNER ..! read more

Fantastic service, quality food and quality prices. The owners go out of their way for their customers. John, the head chef has a passion for his work and you can tell from the presentation of his food. Definitely the best place around for Japanese and Korean inspired Japanese dishes. read more

This place is so delicious!! The rolls are superbly made, and satisfy even the worst of my cravings.

Waited more than 2 hours for our food, absolutely ridiculous amount of time to wait, especially when you have kids who are hungry. Food was good except for the way too sweet sugary sauce on the unagi roll, it made it hard to eat. No attempt to make up for the insane delay, the food was not good enough that I would do this again, there are better places that are much quicker and better staffed. read more

Really disappointed with this meal. 1) The restaurant was full on a long weekend Friday night and they were not staffed for it. They did provide us with some complimentary snacks to tide us over while waiting but they clearly weren't equipped to handle capacity. 2) Bits of food where they shouldn't be. A salad leaf bit on a "clean" dish, a blob of random sauce from a dynamite roll on the end of salmon sashimi, etc. 3) Miso wasn't very good, and the edamame was too soft and had no salt. 4) The worst dynamite roll I've ever had. A combination of the sugary sauce they use and a bit too much sugar in the rice of all their sushi made this taste like uncannily like cotton candy. We basically stopped our meal right there. 5) We mentioned the sweetness issue to our server; she saw our uneaten sushi boat... we got an apology but no offer of a discount on the bill. There's a Yelp review in the "not recommended" section that goes over similar issues. I recommend that review. read more

Great place for high quality sushi with fabulous service from passionate owners. Love this place for local sushi.

Best sushi in Bolton.NOT even a competition. Authentic / Passionate owners, VERY fresh ingredients. A great meal comes out to about the same as other local AYCE places but is miles ahead in quality. Tempura, Teriyaki, Sashimi, Maki, Sushi. All great! Most importantly everything is Fresh. The pillar of good Japenese cuisine. read more
