Before scheduling, I informed the office that I have Medicare and Medicaid. They confirmed Medicaid but never clarified whether they accepted my specific insurance. After driving ONE HOUR from Chicago to Lake Forest, I was told upon arrival that my insurance was NOT accepted! Had I known, I would NEVER have scheduled the appointment. Worse, they provided NO ASL interpreter or Video Remote Interpreting (VRI). I was confused about the unexpected charges and had to communicate through my phone and the therapist's laptop. Approximately 20 minutes were spent typing back and forth, reducing my treatment time. I will give credit to the therapist, who was kind, patient, and helpful with my shoulder inflammation. However, **$150 OUT OF POCKET for approximately 30 minutes of treatment instead of the expected 45-minute session is UNACCEPTABLE!** I attempted to contact management to negotiate a fair reduction, but communication has been disappointing. I now attend another physical therapy facility that ACCEPTS my insurance, provides VRI, and does not require weekly out-of-pocket payments. **My issue is NOT with the therapist. The first therapist I saw (who was excellent) no longer works there, so I booked my next appointment with Laura Ries. Right after the session with Laura, I noticed some pain in my right hand. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt, thinking it might just be normal soreness. Instead, the pain kept getting worse day by day. Now I have sharp pain near my elbow that spreads throughout my arm whenever I move it, and it has become a real problem in my daily life. I called the place to let them know what happened, hoping for at least some guidance or concern. Instead, I was told they "can't do anything" because they're "not professional physicians." The response felt dismissive and unhelpful, especially considering the pain clearly started right after their service. Overall, this has been a very bad experience, and I'm left dealing with significant discomfort and no support from the business.
